The chat? I dunno. I'll be there, perhaps one or two other Big Apers, and hopefully either our producer from LEC or someone from marketing down there. The .BAF model files don't need to be installed. If you copy them into your root TPM directory, th...  [Read More]

Good point - technically, yes, trainers are illegal. But trainers don't give access to licensed properties, like the Maul and Mace patches would, so LEC probably doesn't care about the trainers....  [Read More]

Lucasarts had very little "development" contribution in TPM; all of the in-game stuff was handled by Big Ape, with LEC more of an overseer that their ideas were being carried out. LEC's cutscene department handled all of the cutscenes, so t...  [Read More]

Lucasarts got bit in the ass - HARD - with Jedi Knight's live-action cutscenes. All in all they were entirely unimpressive when compared with the amount of time and resources devoted to it - their production costs were so insane that the people they...  [Read More]

Hmmmmmmmmm.... I looked up some of your system specs at the compatibility and troubleshooting section of LEC's website (go to www.lucasarts.com, (http://www.lucasarts.com) then choose support), and my guess is that it's your video card. There are a...  [Read More]

Hmmm...J-154 honestly had no meaning whatsoever, and neither did the R-65 blaster that Panaka uses. We just riffed some <ahem> cool-sounding names back and forth until we came up with it. Same with the Chokie stuff...someone asked me "Give...  [Read More]

Well, it's actually one of my fave stories for TPM... TPM's Lucasarts codename was Zanzibar, so that's why the savegames were named zanzi*.sav. However, I came up with the name when LEC was asking us what we wanted our codename to be - I have been u...  [Read More]

I like the site a lot; it's got a good group of people associated with it. I wish I played more games so I could write reviews for it http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/smile.gif I think this group would do quite well; there's quite a few articulate p...  [Read More]

There's a log (box) not far away from where Jar-Jar is standing. You can see a little trail on the ground leading to the base of Jar-Jar's pedestal. Walk up to the box, hit the 'use' button, then start moving. You'll grab hold of the log and start pu...  [Read More]

WHOOOO BOY you shoulda seen me when we saw a 'in-progress' version of the film about four months before release. We saw those Nunas in Jabba's box, and I about went nuts. We had already built the Swamp level with the Nunas, and then we see them in Ja...  [Read More]

Test: *****unce LOL - you can't say p-r-o-n-o-unce because there's a spellchecker - it replaces it because it prevents people who can't spell from coming up with this site when they mistype p-o-r-n-o in their search engines. Another test: porno...  [Read More]

Nope, that got canned. It was initially a story about a young man (Luke's age or younger) who witnesses a ship crash-landing near his home. He explores the ship to find an old Jedi Knight, mortally wounded. He gives the boy a quest, to complete the o...  [Read More]

I started on TPM in August of '97, but there was a lot of programming and tool creation done prior to that, maybe 4-6 months worth. The tool and engine for TPM was initially developed for a 'Classic' SW game (Eps 4-6) with an original story, but was...  [Read More]

The patch released by Lucasarts only deals with a compatibility crash problem with the TPM Launcher and DirectX 7. If you're running DirectX 7 and hit the Hardware Configuration button in the Launcher, it locked up on a fairly regular basis. Yes, th...  [Read More]

Yikes!!! I haven't heard of that video card before...I must say that the problem may be unfixable. However, the 'good' news is that if you made it past Otoh Gunga, you won't have any further situations like it. There is something you can try if you...  [Read More]

Aha- methinks you have a certain ATI video card. Try this: In the TPM launcher, under Hardware Configuration, check the 'Use Additive Blending' checkbox. That should clear it up. Your type of video card gave our compatibility programmer fits until...  [Read More]
