Good to meet you, Keiran. The honor's mine - you're the one who's actually playing the game after it's been out for 3 years :) Sorry I've been away. After jediknight.net forums switched to lucasforums, it apparently lost my password because it would...  [Read More]

Actually you can substitute any of the downloaded models for either of the Jedi. You shouldn't try using them for Panaka or the Queen because then they won't have the correct moves....  [Read More]

Master Qui's website would actually be my preferred method of distribution. He's worked so damned hard on that site that it'd be a shame that he didn't get some traffic on the way :) Thanks in advance, Master Qui!...  [Read More]

Heh. I work at Toys For Bob, an Activision studio. TFB and Big Ape actually shared office space during TPM's development, back when both were tiny 7-8 person studios. We shared a lot of ideas and did a lot of brainstorming together. So, naturally, a...  [Read More]

NetObi might be usable for multiplayer, there was some kind of external configuration file that managed the IP addresses for the players. I'm unsure how it works, cuz I'm not a programmer. I don't know anything about the cache files. Sorry!...  [Read More]

Heh, I remember talking about it at one point but it looks like that thread isn't available anymore. The STAP was built as a minigame that raced through the Swamp level, I think the track was on the perimeter. It got cut mainly because we didn't ha...  [Read More]

Something I just figured out: The pTag window shows all the tags that are associated with a particular poly on a Map Cube. If you want to make a poly non-collidable, press the f toggle in the GMI1 row. Remember that any changes you make to any poly...  [Read More]

Netobi was created as a LAN-capable multiplayer version as a test after TPM shipped and we were waiting for our next project. We had some of our team working down at Lucasarts on the delayed Playstation version but the rest of us didn't have a lot to...  [Read More]

I know you can place library cube blocks on top of other blocks, but I don't know about placing actor placements on top of other actor placements. I think our physics system was pretty hacked-together and imprecise so I'm guessing not....  [Read More]

Many, MANY thanks to Alexrd for hosting all the TPM files! I'll see what I can do about getting more info on the collision. The 'save twice' suddenly comes to mind as something that we routinely did for that exact reason. 'Save, then save again' wa...  [Read More]

Be patient with this, it will take some time to write up something that will help instead of hinder your progress. I'm also MUCH less proficient with level construction and texturing in this tool. I'm also terrified because you'll see the hacks that...  [Read More]

I know that we turn on/off several areas using trigger events in order to reduce geo overhead. Those events are set off by the player entering some kind of trigger volume. So yeah, if you teleport to a new location on the 'wrong' side of the trigger...  [Read More]

This is a terrible idea. I should just stop right now. I shouldn't do what I'm about to do. *sigh* I can't help myself. I found a copy of the tool in an old hard drive copy, and it works in Win7 when running under Win95 compatibility mode. I'll...  [Read More]

SkyEye: Ugh - I'm not a programmer, so I have no idea what the story is with how to 'force' the doors to not close. It's a scripted event, obviously, so you might eventually find the 'flag' that causes it to trigger and delete it, but I'm fairly cert...  [Read More]

To be honest I'd like more information on the big.lab contents, can you share what you know here? I'd like to load some of the .b3d files to make sure I know what's involved before releasing the obi.exe stuff. However, all I have are some test level...  [Read More]

If it's at the end of the level (two sets of large green gates at the top of the stairs), then you CAN defeat the AAT, but it takes ridiculous amounts of rocket shells. There are lots of them interspersed throughout the level in some hidden places....  [Read More]
