I'm working with Aristotle to set up a time for an online chat to discuss TPM with anyone and everyone who would like to stop by. I need to talk to Lucasarts to clear it, but it might very well happen soon. I'll also try to get some other Big Ape tea...  [Read More]

Here's a post from Jedi72: I finished the game and reached Jedi Master a couple of times. I only died once or twice throughout the whole game. I think that determines your final rankings. I killed most of the enemies I encountered. Except for level...  [Read More]

In spite of their 'review' of TPM, Gamespot has a pretty good walkthrough of the game at: http://www.gamespot.com/features/tpm_gg/index.html I'm not sure what level you're on, but if it's the Gardens of Theed level (the one after the Otoh Gunga und...  [Read More]

Jym Lang is on the Mos Espa Arena level, in the hallway between the bar and Watto's Box. He's a Rodian (Greedo). Don't ask me why we used a Rodian - they apparently can't speak English, yet Jym has no problems with it http://www.jediknight.net/mboard...  [Read More]

I had a good time doing it. It was amazing working with all the great costume shots we got from Skywalker Ranch. In hindsight, we could have blown a few more polygons per model. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan ESPECIALLY didn't turn out that well. I built them...  [Read More]

What weapon did you use to kill him with on the Desert level? I think the only weapons you can get with Qui-Gon on both previous Desert levels are a single blaster rifle and some flash grenades...and I think a Thermal Detonator is possible somewhere....  [Read More]

No, I didn't get to meet him personally. Come to think of it, I don't think anyone at Big Ape has really ever spoken to him. Come to think of it further, I strongly believe the same is true for even those who work for Lucasarts itself. I saw him once...  [Read More]

Jedi72 has, I think, the correct format to get the Jedi Master ranking. Your ranking is obtained by your score at the END of the game, not an average of the scores of all your levels. My recollection is that you don't get a numeric ranking at the end...  [Read More]

The ranking shows how you FINISHED the game, so if you got all 9's, then died a few times on Final Battle, you'd get bumped down to an 8 and therefore Jedi Knight....  [Read More]

I thought 9 was Jedi Master, 8 was Jedi Knight, 7 was Jedi Novice. I could be wrong - as I said, I need to find that list http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/smile.gif We didn't go above 9 because, well, it's like "why do grades stop at A?" W...  [Read More]

I'll tell you how it was explained to me. I will also be honest and say that we originally wanted to take a LOT of things into account when calculating it, but it came down to simplicity. Everyone starts out with a '4' ranking on the Trade Federatio...  [Read More]

Those Queen lines, I believe, were to be spoken at the end of the Coruscant level when she meets Palpatine, but were cut because they didn't make sense. We decided to include the second text scroll cutscene instead. Those two Obi Wan lines were supp...  [Read More]

I agree with Master Qui-Gon...it does sound like a 3d accelerator problem. We've been having weird troubles with ATI cards from time to time, but you would have found the problems READILY apparent on the Otoh Gunga level. Try new drivers for your v...  [Read More]

Wow...I can't think of what it might be; your computer is plenty fast enough to run TPM. I'm not a programmer, and I've never heard of this bug before, but I'll throw out a few suggestions. One thought...what version of DirectX are you running - 6 o...  [Read More]

I'll admit, there's something going on with how TPM was set up that just makes absolutely no sense to me. Basically, there are maybe a dozen places in the game where you can fall to your death, yet the TPM code checks EVERY STEP YOU TAKE, NO MATTER W...  [Read More]

Master Qui-Gon is absolutely correct; the Additive Blending (In the Launcher, under Hardware Configuration) was created PRECISELY for your brand of video card, because they have a different way of dealing with transparency than most cards. It gave ou...  [Read More]
