Eh, it's higher than that. I notice FPS drops all the time from 85 to 60, it's not that hard. I don't notice them in play, nor do I care, only when I'm looking. Military pilots saw and identified planes that were flashed on a screen in 1/220th of a...  [Read More]

By the way, is dynamic glow causing extreme slowness for everyone else? How about you guys on nVidia cards? I can't understand why it's so damn slow, even when there's no glowing stuff on my screen, I still only get like 30 FPS! And this is on my Ath...  [Read More]

Eh, KotOR, SWG, and JA are all very different genres, even KotOR vs SWG is quite different... I'm not sure why people like to compare them. Combat in SWG and KotOR is like any other RPG, it's probably turn based or fake realtime that you don't contro...  [Read More]

No, nVidia's support of it is. TR:DoA may not be "next gen" by your standards, but it uses a lot of DirectX 9 shaders, and they kill the FX. Valve has done benchmarks with HL2 and both cards, and despite them working with ATI, they are not...  [Read More]

The FXs' DirectX 9 support is fundamentally flawed, there are serious performance problems in DX9 applications such as the new Tomb Raider game and HL2. It's dead in the water, this one isn't going anywhere for nVidia. Dynamic glow is buggy and slow...  [Read More]

If it's true that LEC still tells Raven what to do, then com'on LEC, pay for some more voice actors. Funny that they have the money to buy SecuROM 4 for CD protection, but never seem to want to spend more money on the game itself....  [Read More]

Erm, Wertdagf, JA doesn't use the Karma physics engine, it uses some proprietary stuff that Raven made using GHOUL2. Kurgan, I'm not asking for Karma or Havok, I'm just asking for something that doesn't screw up. Pushing and pulling bodies would re...  [Read More]

There are at least a half dozen broadsword cvars. Type "broadsword" then hit TAB to get a list. I messed around with various settings for all of them (not just 1 and 0, it doesn't always mean on or off), and the only thing I can do is make...  [Read More]

I think Wudan said it pretty well... It's nice to hop in and out, and maybe discuss a coding problem or two, with MSN, you've got to organize a stupid chat every time, that would be extremely annoying. I'm home sick today, so I'll try to finish the...  [Read More]

Um, how is that different from catching up in an IM client? If you're doing 1 on 1, then obviously they are waiting for a response, same in IRC... If you are doing a chat on MSN, then what, you can wait for the person to get back? You can do that in...  [Read More]
