Amazing level. I knew it, when I saw the first screenshot, but I was amazed when I played the beta some time ago. Somebody just stated there's very little one can do without the source code. Well, Clu has showed us just what you can do without it, if...  [Read More]

Now that everybody's attention is (deservedly) on Clu's Colosseum, I can sneak in and give my petty progress report. Nothing amazing to report really. The files for voice acting (this includes also the computer voice) should be coming my way any day...  [Read More]

Originally posted by Kengo Hmmm, what about HAL from 2001 and his cool Canadien voice? Its amazingly tricky to find good female voice actors. If only Eldritch was a woman. Yes, HAL, that's true. But we must also remember that HAL was a very...  [Read More]

Yeah, Microsoft Sam is not my first choice for a computer voice. And besides, the computer voice must be female. Come on! What kind of computer would have a male voice anyway (especially in a game that is played mostly by men). Go and visit this AT&a...  [Read More]

As the last chamber is basically one big machine system (although it might not look like it, as I had to cut down the amount of machines for the sake of FPS and my sanity), I though to do it a little more lively by adding a computer voice. Also, it's...  [Read More]

It seems there can be no progress without setbacks. After encountering one nagging, albeit slight, problem with JK2Radiant, I decided to give a chance to the much acclaimed GTKRadiant (actually it has been sitting on my hard disk for a long time, unu...  [Read More]

It has been more than two weeks, so I thought to let you know the project is still breathing. After doing some rather major enhancement to older parts of the level I'm finally satisfied enough to fully concentrate on finishing the level. Actually, I...  [Read More]

I tried the EF2 demo. Although the game in game did give me some ideas, it certainly would require much research to actually accomplish puzzles so sophisticated in JO. I mean, you couldn't even do exactly that kind of thing, but perhaps one could bui...  [Read More]

I'll post here a screenshot of the latest achitectural modifications I did. The lighting continues my experimental line, so feel free to post any comments. It's kind of green, and has the potential to be ugly, but then, one can also keep in mind that...  [Read More]

Thomas, be sure not to take the habit of making very thin walls (including ceilings). It will give you trouble afterwards. Otherwise your mapping skills are improving. Just keep up the trend of reviewing your work and looking for places and techniqu...  [Read More]

Yeah, I can tell this level contains a lot of action. And you must also be careful, because the imperials just don't leave crates and barrels of ammo lying aroung in these maps. It suit me, because it encourages the slow playing style I always cheris...  [Read More]

Yes, I almost agree with Thomas. Angry is not nearly as nice a name as Wrath would be. "Hey, Wrath, it's really disgusting how your mouth starts foaming every time you see Imperials!" "Aye, and his eyes turn all red!" "A woo...  [Read More]

I guess one could just use Gensurf in GTK to do the terrain and then copy it to JK2Radiant. Even if you can't do it with JK2 it must understand it, right? I don't want to use (twice) GTK with my current project as it removes all trigger_onces and fun...  [Read More]

Don't use skybox textures straight, but apply the shader. Among the textures it's nothing but a little box with a text "SKY". In Radiant, it will cover your skybox, giving no image of the actual scenery (and in Radiant, it's all the same al...  [Read More]
