Oops, I didn't realize that the Dedicated Server package includes more than one tool! My comments above refer only to the "DSManager.exe" (which is more or less identical to the one from SWBF1). I will be checking out the other tools and p...  [Read More]

I've been messing around with the PC Dedicated Server file for SWBF2 and I noticed many options are missing. The loader only lets you select a few pre-defined "Sim Rates" (ie: FPS cap), just like SWBF1... 15, 16, 20, 25 and 30. Using the /...  [Read More]

You want somebody to give up their cd key so they can't play the beta anymore but you can? I suppose that could work, but it should be done in private. After all, EVERYBODY is requesting somebody's key. A person better be willing to give up every ri...  [Read More]

SWBF2 has only one map per planet (except for Tatooine which has two... Jabba's Palace and Mos Eisley) on the ground, and the space maps are all new (but very similar to each other: Tatooine, Yavin, Kashyyyk, Felucia, Hoth, Tatooine). So you lose on...  [Read More]

Unfortunately you can't "practice" these single player adventures that are unique to single player (except by reloading your saved game). The Instant Action campaigns are just the multiplayer campaigns with only bots and yourself. If you...  [Read More]

Honestly I didn't know you could run over people with walkers. In SWBF1 it was nearly impossible to get killed this way (you had to consciously TRY to get killed by running into the moving legs repeatedly in its path of movement). I tried to run ove...  [Read More]

No, but for the purposes of Lucas's story, the "Dark Side" element that was throwing things off is removed. Heck, if two Sith are more powerful than 10,000 Jedi, something's amiss! ;) Anyway, I agree, unless Lucas has contradicted himself...  [Read More]

Dude, If you mean Just Plain Old Maps without the _con or whatever, I haven't Counted. But if you mean all the Possible combinations you are WAY off There's actually only 24 unique maps. All the combinations yield you 85. According to DSManager: C...  [Read More]

Okay, EXTENSIVE update of the files complete (see the opening post). I checked them with the PC Dedicated server launcher. Not bad! Though the launcher doesn't let you change certain variables (like alter the ticket size from 200 or increase the FPS...  [Read More]

The reinforcement limits may be a redundancy. It's true that all of the commands have a second "name" that you see in server infos that are not the actual commands (like noaimassist vs. /noaim) themselves. I'll remove the ones that don't w...  [Read More]

At least this time around GC should be more interesting. It was a cool idea but it got really boring in SWBF1. Like endless recycling. It was either too easy, or impossible, depending on the map (either your team fought decently or they turned into l...  [Read More]

Dueling will always suffer from the facts of lag, but the system in SWBF2 is clearly undeveloped. Jedi here aren't really meant for dueling, just for hacking away madly at fodder troopers in order to score quick points. Their blocking is just a temp...  [Read More]
