Is anyone else pleased with this? It is so much better then the first one. This time, not only do you take systems, you have to defend them, too (which is why I had to fight on Kamino 5 times and Dagobah 3 >.<)

Is is more like a strategy in Galactic Conquest, you have to earn money, by destroying enemy fleets, capturing systems, and defending systems, to buy Units, and YES, Bonuses. I like it how you can buy a Leader bonus which allows you to play as a Hero when you are on a ground map (You start as one and then there is the timer)

And for people who are wondering if there is just plain SPACE battles, yes, you can play on one where it is just space by intercepting an enemy fleet not by a planet, or if they intercept you.

So far I have only completed Republic conquest, which was hard, followed by CIS, then Empire. I haven't started a rebel one, yet.

But in Galactic Conquest, you get a chance to play on Space maps only in Rise of the Empire, such as Space Mustafar and Space Coruscant. And just plain Space.

wow... i shall be looking forward to buying the game in early december then. it sounds awsome. i have a question though. when you say "plain space battles" do you mean you can control a stardestroyer? that would be awsome. also what console are you talking about?

Plain space battles mean there are no planets around...just space. I am talking about X-Box, but I assume they are all the same.

Just like the previous game, apparently on the consoles you could have two players working together vs. the enemy in GC, but on the PC, it's SP only. Lame...

I love GC! Best way to experiance the game, except its very hard. I can beat space battles no problem (sabotage) but land battles are very difficult.

I usually build a second fleet right off the bat, and equip one of them with sabotage, while saving up for a third. With three fleets you can effectively protect all of your planets, destroying enemy fleets in space while getting money for upgrades in preparation for a land campaign.

Has anyone figured out how you build more fleets. I have read through the manual and seemingly you can build fleets. Any help would be great. Cheers

Has anyone figured out how you build more fleets...

Deselect your fleet. Select a planet you 'own'. If there is not a fleet there, it gives you the option to build one. First fleet costs 1000 money units, second: 200, thrid: 3000, and so on...

Well, if all you did was camp the hyperspace lanes and churn out fleets with a slow advance to support them, you could have over 13 fleets.

lol id end up with enough fleets to to where no one would wanna mess with me. not even the empire. if im going to attack a planet im sending 2 fleets. not just one. over welming force with minimal casualties.

No, it's just one fleet movement per turn, and fleets can't share spaces. You'll have to send them in one at a time, with a break for the enemy in the middle.

Three is the most fleets I've ever had. I got tired of space battles on GC. Space battles occur when two fleets meet. If you keep destroying the computer's fleet, it keeps remaking it on the planet you are about to attack, thus making you fight in space for ever planet (12 total) you want to take over and more. Don't forget you have to buy all your units. If you spent all your money on fleets, you wouldn't have any ground forces.

I personally like Galactic Conquest. I have almost completed the Birth of the Rebellion but when I was attacked in a Space Battle I wasn't able tyo play I just showed a capital ship and I couldn't select any unit to use. Well, I only had to retake Hoth and I would have been finshed. I noticed that the Empire constantly attacks Naboo and Dagobah when they attck.

So I decided to start one with the CIS and I have currently taken Dagobah.

I cannot take Dagobah as CIS or Republic. I just cannot beat that map. Any other maps I can beat, but for some reason not...that...one... So im simply going to put a blockade around it

The planets are connected in such a way that it requires only 2 fleets to blockage almost any planet.

A third fleet costs 3000. Thats hard to make unless you don't buy any units (meaning you will only be a stormtrooper or space pilot)

lol id be playing for a while. what i meant b "tactical" wasnt that accurate. i meant that id spend alot of time. i usualy dont attack until all the pawns are in position. and if a pawn falls behind i fall back. get that pawn and procede. it takes more time yes. but i rarely loose.

Yea, I did that in SWBF. With the new award system, you should be able get them all at least 64 times (thus making them permenate). Once you start keeping the awards, the game starts to get too easy (every weapon becomes 1-2 shot per kill).

At least this time around GC should be more interesting. It was a cool idea but it got really boring in SWBF1. Like endless recycling. It was either too easy, or impossible, depending on the map (either your team fought decently or they turned into lemmings).

It took me a while to realize how to build fleets, embarasingly. The game doesn't help you much in that respect, because it tell you to "Select a Fleet" while a fleet is already selected. Realizing the deselct button was there was nice, because then you can not only build fleets (which really isn't that necessary, I prefer ground battles over space battles anyways), but see what all the planets are and how much money you get for taking them.

Galactic Conquest is much better, although I'm to lazy to beat all the ones I've started. Space battles in my opinion occur to often though, and I don't really like them much, in building a huge amount of fleets I don't see the point, I've almost conquered the Imps with one :smash: .

Still, its odd that you fly past a hundred stars per space map, when theres actually 2-3500 light years between them.

Is there a way to increase the number of tickets for Galactic Conquest? I find the game ends too quickly. I think this mode should last hours and hours, then when you have to take back planets after losing them, this should take even more time. At least 700 tickets per team, like the slider on the instant action menu would be cool. Maybe in a patch?

Do you honestly want them to map out every system and have you move through all of them? Me too, but thats not going to happen.

To my understanding, the routes you can move on are Hyperspace lanes. And I dont think you want to wait an hour as your ship travels through hyperspace

i always have a jedi hero on in reserve, so i can top any planet, yes jedi hero is the best....
but the feds totally own the clones in GC, so unfair....
and the feds keep spawning at (forget name) and attacking naboo every turn, it's freaking crazy, and the only way i can defend it from the feds is to use the jedi hero bonus, but thankfually, destroying there fleet gives you more money then a jedi hero....
OBI is definetly the best jedi hero, he owns!!!!!!!!!

any also, the end movie for the rep sucks, don't bother playing them, but play the empire, the ending movie is SO COOL!!!!!! but i won't ruin it for you.... but hint, rebel hero=killed.... mahahahahahahha

Actually, like BF1, the best Bonus is the Becta Tank. Its inexpensive at 400 a pop, ABUSE IT PLEASE!!!

Now you get regenerating health for those idleing computer AI. Also if you play engineer and go solo, you get like loads and loads of health(regen + H&A drops)

Also, make sure you recuit units you NEED only, the less selection of units the better. Computer AI seem to devide between units you have quite evenly... so technically if you can play as CIS and you have only Soldiers/Engineer/Droideka you get like 1/3 of your army Droidekas. :)

All I have problem with is the space battle. So I tend to avoid enemy ships.

You don't need loads of units... Basic Soldiers and Droidekas. Can't really screw up with have your AIs being rolling balls of death.

Take note how inaccurate and unconfident the AI is. USE THE SHOTGUN, LUKE! :) I've got more kills by sprinting towards people and blowing them away, then through machine gun kills. I love it, it's about 200 000% better than the old dark trooper and just as cheap. My brother prefers to do a forward roll into people and fire as he gets up!
