but will Boba Fett remain loyal to the Empire? I'm sure he will...as long as they keep paying him more than anyone else can! ...Though one of the screenshots does show Boba Fett as an underworld hero on the galactic map....  [Read More]

The IG-2000 is IG-88's ship...interesting that he (it?) shows up, IG-88 really hasn't entered games or other EU sources to much of an extent at all up to this point. Off to watch it now... EDIT: After seeing some of the new ships and weapons, I can'...  [Read More]
The press release for the expansion concentrates on telling us about this new pirate warlord faction...but only hints at "new, controllable" Rebel and Imperial elements. Is the pirate faction being built up at the expense of a Rebel and Imp...  [Read More]

There's no reason whatsoever why they can't invent a new SSD and christen it 'Eclipse'--it doesn't have to conform to every single aspect of the EU, comic art, made-up force dispositions, etc. After all, Michael Stackpole invented the Lusankya all by...  [Read More]

THe reimagined BSG is an excellent, excellent show. Tremendous depth, lots of excitement, and some great cinematography. They also have this tendency to come up with never-done-before cliffhangars that really keep me antsy for the next season. My fav...  [Read More]

StarCraft: Brood War also had an amazing intro. Definitely! That was a great "oh, sh!t" moment when the camera slowly backs off from that lone Marine and you see the hordes of Zerg about to descend on him...right after the cold callousness...  [Read More]

Most people seem to claim the Mon Cal beats ISD's just because Mon Calamari Cruisers lack shield hardpoints. However, I never attack shield hardpoints first, I prefer to take down hangars and weapons...or even blast the engines and sit in the enemy's...  [Read More]

I think the Empire Strikes Back novel refers to the Rebel rendesvouz point as unusual and particular risky because it was "out of the galactic plane" or some other similar terminology, meaning that the galaxy we see is the Star Wars galaxy....  [Read More]

I've never seen a full map like that...but there seem to be some obvious errors, for instance, that map shows Corellia, Selonia, Talus, and Tralus in separate, fairly widely separated systems. Established EU is that these planets are in the same syst...  [Read More]
The upcoming RTS I'm most excited about is definitely Supreme Commander, the 'spiritual sequel' to Total Annihilation. The game has a real sense of scale, and includes units from infantry to tanks to strategic bombers to battleships to aircraft carri...  [Read More]
On the lines of the relative power of Piett and Ackbar: seems the general consensus is that Home One beats the Accuser since Ackbar can batter down Piett's shields just as fast as Piett can use his proton beam to take out Ackbar's. I'm curious...has...  [Read More]

If you're going to use ISDs (or Victory frigates), then when one gets hit with an ion shot, abandon it. Move you're other ships away, putting the disabled ship between them and the bulk of the enemy's ships. That way the enemy will hopefully destroy...  [Read More]

Bring lots of reinforcements. The Rebels will try to disable some of your more powerful ships right off the bat. Try to pull your front line out in front of the disabled ships so that they aren't exposed to direct fire without their shields. The ion...  [Read More]
