After reading through a couple of the Star Wars novels, something that hasn't really sat well with me about Empire at War has solidified: the Rebellion acts like a legitimate nation, with borders, holdings, a conventional military, and conventional b...  [Read More]

I'm sure they'd run into copyright problems if they tried something like that. I know there are a few other gag crossover references (i.e., the Maltese Falcon in Palpatine's office), but isn't Joss Whedon supposed to be really protective of his stuff...  [Read More]

Hey, I'm just going from watching its gait in the movie. The animal just isn't built for speed. It looks like it's more suited to rooting around in the sand digging up bugs than sprinting to catch fast-moving prey. I'd be willing to buy it if a thic...  [Read More]

Eh, I think having animal-based units wouldn't really be in keeping with Original Trilogy-Era Star Wars. However, Poiuy brings up an interesting point: perhaps the Nightsister could have a special ability......  [Read More]

Just checking off planets in a list might be interesting--but you'd have to make sure that the map is connected. Fortunately, there are algorithms to test a graph for connectivity. It would be pretty fun to just come up with a map right before initia...  [Read More]

Needa's line was: "They can't have disappeared. No ship that small has a cloaking device!" No ship that small has a cloaking device, not no ship that small can have a cloaking device. Perhaps the technology to cloak Sith Infiltrator-sized...  [Read More]

Yoda's saber thing is just the way he fights. However, I think Yoda is more of a support unit...given his other special power, the fact that he's small and likely to be a fairly weak hero, and...well...Great warrior? Wars not make one great!...  [Read More]

If they don't have them already, you could certainly mod the Arc Hammer into a TIE/X control ship that builds squadrons. This might also be a great boon to Clone Wars-era mods--Separatist carriers could manufacture droid starfighters!...  [Read More]

The chat transcript says that all three phases of Dark Trooper will be produced on the Arc Hammer, "a special Star Destroyer." This opens up a whole new way to produce units--at mobile factories. It's also a pretty cool nod to Dark Forces....  [Read More]

I think that just increasing the interval between troops when the "take cover" command is given would go a long way towards avoiding vehicles. Your squads would still suffer some casualties, but it would be harder to crush the whole squad i...  [Read More]
