The JK demo came out shortly before the full game, so maybe it will here as well. It doesn't matter so much if it's before, at release, or shortly after. Just not months later when people who were considering the game loose interest.... [Read More]

No problem with that. Each stance appears to have a special move called a kata. A system of basic body positioning and movement excercises, as in karate or judo. Makes sense.... [Read More]
Whoa! That is amazingly cool! They even have an index of all the available moves, although with dropped frames to be more bandwidth friendly.... [Read More]
Yeah. A demo is a really smart move I think. A game like JA has a lot of people wondering if they should buy it. Games like Half-Life 2, Doom III, Deus Ex: Invisible War, sell themselves just with the name, demos aren't really needed.... [Read More]
I think one of the Raven devs said either on these forums or in an interview that classes are externalized, and can be changed on a per-map basis. If so, that would give modders great versatility. You could make your own special classes for your maps... [Read More]

Have you noticed the light glow/blur effect on the buildings, sabers, explosions etc from the unofficial (and now official) screenshots? That's pretty impressive, I've only seen it done well in Splinter Cell and STALKER.... [Read More]
I'm pretty sure ET didn't change the auto downloading code. I don't see what in the world there is to change, it just sends a file. ET is a lot more demanding than JO for bandwidth, so it's not uncommon to run into a server running off some insanely... [Read More]
I'm pretty sure ET just lets you set the cvar for auto download speed, you should be able to do that in JO. A lot of servers couldn't dool out the bandwidth without severly affecting the game though.... [Read More]
That is a fantastic idea. Many servers cannot afford to send files to serveral users at once. P2P would be good, as would support for FTP and HTTP downloading, you could have the mod author insert several mirror URLs into a file and have the game do... [Read More]

Yes, wait until the novelty of JA dies down before you release it. Otherwise people will be like "OMG WOW THIS GAME IS SO COOL!!! What's that, a user level, oh I don't care THESE LEVELS ARE JUST SO COOL OMG I CAN DO THAT!@?!"... [Read More]
