Textures don't always follow the same naming conventions as the model they belong to. The texture is coded into the MDL file. The easiest way to find its texture is to run it through MDLOps and make an ASCII model. If you double-click on a MDL in KOT...  [Read More]
Modders can set TSLPatcher to automatically look up the install directory by itself, so if it doesn't pop up a window asking you to select the directory just hit the install button....  [Read More]
Ambitious. I'd be very interested to hear what you are doing "under the hood" to pull this off....  [Read More]

What's the model like? If it's pretty simple it shouldn't be too much of a drama to map it for you....  [Read More]

For K1 I would think Taris would be the obvious choice for billboards. You could also maybe put some smallish ones in cantinas like on Tatooine and Korriban....  [Read More]

You'd be better off posting shots of custom skins and the like, not bugfix mods. Maybe ask Drewton if you can post some shots of his K1 Revan robes. That Photoshoped screenshot with the blurred background would make for a nice billboard. There's al...  [Read More]

I don't think 76 is a valid modelvariation, not for TSL anyway. It lumps all the upgrade parts together under one category so there are heaps. All you need to do for icons is to follow the existing name convention. As long as the modelvariation matc...  [Read More]

Have you tried making a completely new INI btw? Edit your current INI then save it as a a plain text file, then delete the original and change the file extension. Alternatively, ditch Vista and get a working OS. :p MS has the beta of Win7 available....  [Read More]
I thought TSL took screenshots out of the box without changing the INI file anyway. I can't think of any reason you wouldn't be able to save it other than it being read-only and Vista's paranoia. Tried copying it to another folder and editing it? Us...  [Read More]
Using Vista? From what I have seen of it, it seems with the overzealous security that you have to manually specify admin rights for everything in order to make changes....  [Read More]
Your INI file will be set to read-only, which is why it isn't letting you save. Right click on it and choose Properties, then under Attributes untick read-only....  [Read More]
I was thinking of giving Gimp a try, since you stated to was a viable FREE alternative to Photoshop in my other thread.I've only ever used Gimp and Paint.NET briefly. Paint has a much nicer interface, but a quick Google search would suggest that you'...  [Read More]
The only way to create transparency is with an alpha channel. I assume you want to make a some sort of semi-transparent visor? Not sure what you mean by emitter. The only emitters I am aware of are used for particle effects....  [Read More]
Your starting point is KOTORTool. The resref a_helmet_09 is the template. So browse templates.bif and find a_helmet_09.uti and double click on it. This will open KT's item editor. You'll see the info that shows up in game like the description, the it...  [Read More]
Nice. Although there are already several existing text-based tutorials that describe the same process (and variations of it), no doubt some people will get more out of a video-based version. You should probably do one on alpha layers and setting up...  [Read More]

The only way would be if there is still a texture in the Override folder. Whatever the PP6 file was the game would ignore it. The save games would likely be in whatever the Vista equivalent of Documents and Settings is. In XP the saves are in the in...  [Read More]

how do the animations work on that model? The skirt uses bones. There are two bones on the front and two on the back. All I've done is to pull down the bottom row of the skirt's vertexes, so it tends to flap around a bit stiffly. There's also some cli...  [Read More]
