Greetings all, my first Q: Can anyone recommend a FREE program that is compairable to Adobe Photoshop CS series? I need a good tga editor and the two that I have and have found are Nero(limited) and Photoplus6.0(weak).

I didnt see a thread relating to this, however I did not dig very deep into the archives. My mind is so full of recent knowledge and sleep dep is getting to me. There is ALOT to learn here...

Also, related to WHY I want this (however this location may not be appropriate), does anyone have some Exile, Atton, Kreia or T3 skins that have easily editable .tga's that I can just drop in my override? I could use a some nice skins for these characters and I want to try my hand at some easy (since I'm using Photoplus6.0 and trying to learn all it's features) game editting.

Replies are appreciated. Thank you.

Paint.NET (http://www.getpaint.net/) or GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) would be good starting points.

Use KOTOR Tool to extract the textures from the game files, then edit them in your app of choice. You should start by reading some of the texturing tutorials (http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=595).

here is one thread you should look into for doing character skins.

cwby74 and Darth Parametric

After my install I'll check out the tutorials. After sleeping half a day I'm ready for another 36 hours of learning! Thank you both!

So, I was toying with TGA files and went to town on T3. I did the normal stuff, but in my tired state I saved a PhotoPro 6.0 file (don't know the extension off hand) into my override and THEN save it as a TGA into override.

It caused my t3 to go B&W, full blown grayscale! Well, I I couldnt get it to change with the removal of my PP6 file removel nor with a new TGA file overwrite. So, I uninstalled (not just deleted) EVERTHING, game, override and I thought saved games. I did a full reinstall, download of mods and got everything the way I thought I wanted it.

I went to start a new game and my saved games were there... I am starting to hate Vista. So, I deleted them (in game) and started new. To my surprise, T3 is still black and white! What the __(insert desired profanity here)__!?! I have been asking that question alot lately.

So after that LONG and boring story, my question is, does anyone have any ideas how to fix this grayscale T3 problem.

The only way would be if there is still a texture in the Override folder. Whatever the PP6 file was the game would ignore it.

The save games would likely be in whatever the Vista equivalent of Documents and Settings is. In XP the saves are in the install folder, but I guess Vista handles things differently. Seems unlikely, but there may also be something else in there besides the saves. Run Search and look for a file named SAVEGAME.sav. That should turn up the folder it's hiding in.

Well, no luck, I looked thru Override, searched for save games and dug thru several folders included my user folder and I cannot find any file that is T3 related... I know Vista is a tricky beast and IF i ever find it, I'll post here with the resolution to the matter. Thx DP for the ideas.
