I think what really needs to show up in the next Jk game is a more interactive saber combat. Blocking your opponents strikes should be your main defense, not jumping all over the place like a ping pong ball on crack. That and you should have to charg...  [Read More]
I'd love to see the "sword of the jedi" thing Luke put on Jaina turn into a seeming curse. That seemed like such a perfect thing to do considering now Jaina has to deal with being the "ordained" sword of the jedi now that there's...  [Read More]

I don't think Lucas should make another trilogy. Maybe if he kicked the bucket and other people made it( set about 200 yrs after everything else) then that would be okay. But I think Lucas lost his touch with movies....  [Read More]

besides, all those saber combat forms are those used by the knights of the old republic. Luke and the Jedi he taught wouldn't know the formalized combat forms of the old order. Some of the basic moves and bits and pieces of technique, but not whole f...  [Read More]

I thought I clarified this earlier, when I talk about martial arts I mean weapons training as well as unarmed combat moves. And sometimes its a more viable option to kick someone in the face than use your weapon. Or some other such move with an avail...  [Read More]

Mkay. I was curious to see which styles of martial arts do people think could be used to help expand and improve to the saber fighting in the JK series. Oh and explain why ya think so too please. This includes weapon disiplines and empty handed ones....  [Read More]

I like the additions, but I really think the site needs to add more actual strategies and tactics. So far it seems like an online game manual more than anything else. I'd love to see a someone talk about dogfighting tactics for the destroyer map. Tha...  [Read More]

What I loved most about NJO was that it made the star wars universe evolve. I've heard so many peope who view star wars as an escape from reality get mad at the NJO series because it started to emulate one key aspect of reality. Change. Changes in th...  [Read More]

I thought the NJO was pretty good. Not great. But better than many of the earlier books. They threw some jedi philosohpy curveballs with the vong, showed the characters from earlier novels and movies evolving and there some truly amazing moments. On...  [Read More]
No I don't think a block button should just be a matter of holding down it down and you block everything. You would have to time hitting the button to block. It would sorta be like the Phantom Menace blocking. You don't control the way in which the s...  [Read More]
Master_Keralys, yea that's what OJP is doing, but their putting in a bunch of other stuff that I think is unecessary. Also I don't like it when a game requires mods like that to make it good. If the next JK game can't stand on its own two feet then I...  [Read More]
When Im talking about saber fighting and being able to control blocking Im thinking of a parry button you hit right before the attack falls. It would be a timing thing. As for offense I think that the red style needs to have faster strikes with a lon...  [Read More]
Dude, I understand where you're coming from with the whole merging FPS and MMORPG stuff, but I really don't think it would work. Look at all the hit detection and other lag related problems academy had combat wise and you'll see what I mean. Besides,...  [Read More]

Okay tried the mod again. I have it on my own computer so I can mess with the settings. I had the saber animation speed at about a .9. This definetely made the dueling a little more enjoyable. A few points I think I'll make. 1) Blocking and dodge ar...  [Read More]

I wonder if maybe you should try a beta without dodge and have the animations speeds set to about .75-.8 then make it so blocking cost more energy when you run. That will make people slow down in dueling. Just a thought....  [Read More]

I finally got the chance to try the beta. I have to say I was disappointed. I like the fact you can dodge and block, but the attack are slow. I was using blue and I felt like I was crawling by. Also the whole deal where the force recharges only when...  [Read More]

Correct me if Im wrong, but if you can parry saber strikes why do you even need dodge? You can block saber hits, jump clear of explosives and deflect energy blasts. Why even put in dodge? Wouldn't that just add to your headaches?...  [Read More]

Ultimately I think everyone here can agree that they want the next game to come out for the JK series to be immersive. Ultimately the point of any good star wars game should be to make you feel like your inside a star wars movie that's all your own....  [Read More]

There are three areas I think need to be messed with in the next JK series. 1. Combat- The saber system needs to be altered to make it so fighting another saber wielder is a truly interctive experience. Ex: your opponent attacks and you parry in resp...  [Read More]

I think klye katarn still has some life left in him for another Jk game. I'd love it if they made another jedi knight set during the New Jedi Order series. I know many people don't like that series of books but I thought they were awesome and I think...  [Read More]

would it be possible to "match" a blocking animation to each saber stroke of the same style? I.E. If your opponent makes an attack in yellow you make the "matching" defensive parry to block the blade so it hits about mid blade? Or...  [Read More]

I think that certain powers should be usless against jedi, grip and mind trick namely. It makes no sense that powers used on the "weak and weak-minded" should affect fully trained force users. As for there being an absorb and reflect power...  [Read More]
