I have to agree with Krayt. Sure, it's true that bugs can be squashed, but we have to draw the line as gamers (and customers) somewhere. The bugs in WWII Online were show stoppers. Gamers couldn't even log in! Not very professional. I wanted to ge...  [Read More]

I had high hopes for WWII Online. Unfortunately, reports are that it is currently plagued with serious bugs. We're talking show-stoppers here: gamers-can't-even-log-in kind of show-stoppers. Hopefully they'll get everything patched up. A shame they h...  [Read More]

Medal o' Honor will be an action game, rather than a true-blue military simulation. Dreamworks are focusing more on playability and fun. However, MOH will not be arcadey, and there will be heavy emphasis emphasis on authenticity. They have recorded...  [Read More]

The Rune coop devteam should have at least zip compressed the .rmod. They could have cut the filesize by about 60% or so and shaved off a day or two for the modem guys. I think Rune Coop is worth the download though....  [Read More]

Yep yep definitely a cool mod. Best thing that has happened to Rune, IMO. A lot of fun. And you can meet real, computer-literate Vikings (hey, that guy was from Estonia, not Lithuania!). (Don't blame me, I'm a Geographer.) Very fun to play single pla...  [Read More]

Yes I'd bet that adding more geometry to your map may help. I tried to compile a 'box map' my first time out and it simply wouldn't compile. I added in some arbitrary geometric detail, and the map compiled fine after that....  [Read More]

Given that Raven won't have to pour the majority of their effort into developing the game engine, I think they'll produce a decent product in time. There is certainly enough time to develop content. Remember it is not just Raven who is doing the work...  [Read More]

I suspect the cadre of JKO's Dark Jedi will find a lucrative career in claim jumping. You see, their racket is that they use the 'Dark Jedi Technology' to scare away local prospectors from a large spice mine they found. The use a Force hologram proj...  [Read More]

The Crow is completely destroyed in the crash at the Valley of the Jedi. But Moldier Crow needs to make an appearance. However, I say leave the space combat to the next X-Wing Alliance. JKO should stick to its FPS roots. But I do like the idea of u...  [Read More]

Ok, so Thrawn hires Sarris to kidnap Kyle Jr. to suck the jedi juice out of him. HOW will they get a teen rating on THAT? Sounds a bit Wilhuf to me. ;) Seriously though, I like the kidnapping idea. It's completely consistent with the whole 'turn to...  [Read More]

The idea of a conniving military mastermind, manipulating a cadre of paranoid Dark Jedi to further his own agenda sounds entertaining. Just the back and forth between Thrawn and his Jedi cadre, the empty promises, the manipulated rivalries, the pitti...  [Read More]

JKII's arch-villain should have a history of conflict and death. His/her path should be littered with corpses - and this should be made known up front, IMO, as it was with Vader. This is Grand Admiral Thrawn....  [Read More]

Just joking around a bit. I like the family intrigue concept. It's absolutely true that there should be an involved and engaging plot for JKO, hopefully something that challenges us at least a little. By challenge, I don't mean a game that is hard...  [Read More]

Now how about this: we learn that Thrawn is actually the father of Jan's dark jedi twin sister Anne. Kyle's dark twin brother Lyle loves Anne. Now, don't forget, Thrawn also has a secret twin brother (Brawn). Brawn is basically a granola hippy who l...  [Read More]

Mysteries of the Sith touched on some of these ideas, Vagabond. I do believe Mara Jade faces her own evil twin in Mysteries of the Sith. I believe she also faces a corrupted, twisted 'dark Kyle.' Mara must decide at the end whether to fight and destr...  [Read More]

Honestly while I like the JK/MotS levels, I'd rather we get all new levels, rather than revisit the maps we've all been playing for almost 4 years. For instance, do we really want to play Spaceport again only jazzed up on Q3 tech? Sure it would be f...  [Read More]

The Blockade Runner Assault idea sounds excellent. The Imperial Team must breach the Blockade Runner and find the stolen plans. The Rebels must prevent this from happening. Rescue the Princess from the Detention Block would also be a classic assault...  [Read More]
