Good to hear you decided to give it a go. It's a magnificent game, and I'm sure you'll want to talk about it once you've experienced the whole thing. You've got loads of gameplay ahead of you though and I'm sure you'll fall in love with the game even...  [Read More]

I wasn't actually aware there was more than one version, code-wise. I'm guessing that the 95/98 one does actually work normally on XP, and if not then it almost certainly will with the help of ScummVM. I'm very saddened to have lost my original CDs...  [Read More]

As far as I remember the game is two CDs large, so at the very least your installation file (ie: whatever you downloaded) should be over 1GB. The installed game will naturally be much bigger. Whatever the case though, this is now the third thread yo...  [Read More]

You could try using Benny's Grim Fandango Launcher (http://www.grimfandango.net/?page=launcher), which acts as a patcher. I'm not sure if it actually executes the patch installation and thus fails at the same point, though....  [Read More]

Not Xbox, to Microsoft. Both Halo games have also been released for Windows, which is neatly under Microsoft's wing. Kind of ironic considering Bungie was originally a Mac-only developer, as I'm sure many of you know. :D...  [Read More]

If you use a 64-bit processor and operating system, you can't use 16-bit installers (which a lot of games came with a while ago, even if the game itself was 32-bit). There may be a way to bypass the installer completely, but you'd need someone like b...  [Read More]

When copying the files over, did you get any cyclic redundancy check errors? In relatively rare cases a few files on the CD have become corrupted, which'll mean you can't copy them over and crash in the same place....  [Read More]
Heeeeey, there're plenty of good PC games this year (http://uk.gamespot.com/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=24525221). You just need a console to enjoy the full breadth of games, as has been the case throughout gaming history. :D...  [Read More]

Exactly as Jae said. I'm really disappointed with the (now deleted) comments from Ray and Jmac, which quite frankly are pitiful and really what I'd expect from the very lowest age group of the forum -- not the highest. But also as Jae pointed out Ze...  [Read More]

I'm totally too cheap, although it's more on principle than anything else. I'm really not a fan of paying to use a forum and I'd like to discourage any other forums from doing it in any way possible. :D...  [Read More]

This is a long shot, but try toggling the 'Vsync' setting under graphics effects. I have absolutely no basis for this other than a hunch, so if it fails I'm sorry. :( If anyone does notice oddities like this, by all means start a thread so we can lo...  [Read More]

Yeah, I don't think those who undergo severe trauma make it through. You've never really ending the journey, and it'd nullify the whole concept of getting through in four hours or roughly four years, etc, if they did make it. One of the key points in...  [Read More]

Pretty cool, that. :) I think if you reworked it to look more detailed and made the eyes a bit more Manny-like in personality (he seems a bit wide-eyed, almost seems naive) it'd be a great piece....  [Read More]

Absolutely excellent work elbiolin. You've done a great job of capturing the souls of the characters, not to mention the skin. Would you mind if I included these in the eventual museum-style Grim Fandango Network renovations? Most of the fan art is s...  [Read More]
