Unfortunately either Vista or the Vista drivers don't give you those buried modes anymore. :( Grim Fandango just seems to have generally very bad corruption (http://serve.ryanjohnwilliams.com/images/grim_fandango_hardware_acceleration.jpg) when hard...  [Read More]

Very weird. It does sound slightly possible you have a version of the game that's a bit different to the two versions Benny mentioned earlier. Perhaps you could provide more details about it (language, date on box, etc)....  [Read More]

Have you tried just uninstalling it and then starting over? It sounds like somehow things have gotten pretty messed up. Uninstalling and then maybe deleting the registry keys if they're not removed seems like the best idea....  [Read More]

You should be able to launch Grim Fandango directly if you go to your Grim Fandango directory (most likely C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Grim\) and open grimfandango.exe. I'm not sure what happened with Benny's launcher. Perhaps he didn't create...  [Read More]

If it's giving you that message it's possible it did manage to patch after all. Have you tried just running the game and seeing if it works or not? The patch doesn't really address any XP/Vista issues as it came out not long after the game itself. I...  [Read More]

8 is definitely the convention I've seen on the web. Every time someone discusses cocks on IRC for example, it's usually an 8. I also automatically use an 8....  [Read More]

No. I actually spoke to Tim about exactly that, and while he told me a way of doing it it doesn't actually work. I assume the functionality was there while they did internal testing but disabled for the proper release. It could be there's a way to...  [Read More]

There is no built-in way to take screenshots in Psychonauts. Here is some free screen capture software I'm aware of (included in this superb list (http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=522081) that you might want to bookmark): http://taksi...  [Read More]

I wouldn't go too crazy on the whole "I want to tell everyone I know IRL" thing. You're a teen, and teens go through phases of swinging in different directions. ; You're not really going to be completely sure of your sexuality until you're...  [Read More]

Forget scheduling, even playing with some Mojo dudes is pretty fun. Just right click the Steam icon in your system tray, go to 'Friends', open the MixnMojo group and see if anyone's playing. Don't even need to add a bunch of nutters as actual friends...  [Read More]

Beating with rank 100 basically just gives you a short bonus movie after the game has ended, so you can safely complete the game to 100% and then finish it as normal. You'll still get to see the normal ending and the bonus movie. :) It's a short vid...  [Read More]

Every clock counts when it comes to single-core games. I noticed an improvement in C&C 3 even when I just bumped it up from 2.4GHz to 2.7GHz. The only time you're not going to see a difference is when the game is so light on CPU resources that yo...  [Read More]
