Well I just looked at the script and the exact quote is "The company gave me one on the other end; sort of a retirement present." So I'd assume that he worked off his debt to society through the game and/or finding Meche, earning his ticke...  [Read More]

Good point! The whole reason he went after her was to get his ticket out of there, and he achieved that goal - and met his love. Interesting, I never really thought about that. And yes, we are taking it too seriously. But hell, if we're still discus...  [Read More]

False tickets (ie: ones that don't belong to you) result in you not being allowed into the next underworld, the train would turned into a fiery demon and took them to hell - or something would have happened. Plus Manny says that the deparment gave h...  [Read More]

He said that the department fixed him up with one. However, although we know that Manny has been a good soul throughout the game - how did they know that? So that leads me to believe that they knew Manny was supposed to have one but it was someone s...  [Read More]

Dawidos, I appreciate your efforts to contribute to the discussion and all, but please don't bump age-old posts. This one for example originates from over a year ago - just start a new discussion. It's downright confusing to read what people (includi...  [Read More]

Yes, that's generally the case with most adventure games - the puzzles become lodged in your head and you don't really forget how to do most of them. It's exactly the same with the MI games. Although if you're replaying it 100 times and only playing...  [Read More]

It was definitely Meche. I just literally loaded up the saved game to check and: a) The person looks EXACTLY like Meche from behind. b) The person walked EXACTLY to where Manny meets the Raven, meaning that she must have jumped down into the water...  [Read More]

Hee, I just watched a bit of him in action, it's quite cool hearing his voice (it's very obviously Manny's voice) in anything other than Grim Fandango. :P But yeah, it'd be better to hear him speaking English....  [Read More]

Maybe it just didn't occur to them at the time and they never bothered.. as far as I know GF sold pretty badly so it's unlikely that they would have spent too effort on the packaging. It's a huge shame really, the packaging and game is the best ever...  [Read More]

My favourite adventure game bar Grim Fandango has to be The Curse of Monkey Island. Despite it not quite going hand-in-hand with Monkey Island 2's plot, it had a brilliant mix of visuals (those cartoony but very nicely shaded backgrounds were awesome...  [Read More]

I do agree, the transition is a little obvious. However we are working with 1998 graphics here so some leeway in the 3D graphics department must be allowed. I'm sure that if they did the game with modern technology, there would be much smoother char...  [Read More]

I would disagree to be honest. While Grim Fandango's 3D was similar to cel-shading, the touch of 3D was still there and so the characters looked good on the backgrounds. If they were made truly cell-shaded, they would look a bit dodgy on the beautif...  [Read More]
