What?? That's simple! File>>Save As and choose the file format you want from the list box, name the picture and hit the save button. For game content the size of the picture must be of the power of 2 example 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024 etc.......  [Read More]

I'm using texporter to export my UVW map and when I apply the texture to the model I can see a few seams in between faces. Generally it lines up well and the seams are not excessive either. Is this normal? Can there be some tolerance?...  [Read More]

Try this one http://www.studio-erebus.com/studio/tutorials/2003/uvw/dice/uvw-dice.html It will teach you some basics but it's not the best method unless you're making a crate md3. This one is for a saber http://www.btinternet.com/~howe_alison/bro...  [Read More]

I'm pretty sure they don't mind if you export your model as an .md3 because Tempest comes with an .md3 exporter. The quality of this exporter is whole other question. I could see them having a problem with a .max exporter (if one existed) because peo...  [Read More]

The advantage Milkshape has over gmax is the import/export support. It is easier to learn and more simple. Gmax can look overwhelming to a beginner but once you get familiar with it you're all set. When it comes to modeling I like gmax over Milkshape...  [Read More]

With 3ds max 5 and 6 you got it pretty easy compared to gmax. The UVW editor is far superior. I followed this tutorial http://waylon-art.com/uvw_tutorial/uvwtut_01.html and with a couple of clicks I had the first portion of the model mapped out. I g...  [Read More]
