I heard somewhere that the devs for half life 2 are releasing the code upon the game's release. I guess they aren't afraid of losing money and the engine is light years ahead of q3's. It seems they are more in tune with their mod comunity. It'll be i...  [Read More]

I have a feeling once doom 3 is out, an sdk will be released. Isn't that what happened when quake 2 was released? Two things...... wait or, i know this is illegal but maybe a friend of a friend knows someone, somewhere and can "covertly" ac...  [Read More]
I think that a new take on saber combat could be taken in the next game as well. I remember a while back when obi-wan was to be the next in the dark forces series, lucasarts was talking about a glyph system or something that moves would be determined...  [Read More]
Add to the fact that you have to pay monthly to play on a server, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth and i have too many bills as it is. That is the reason i don't play galazies or any other MMORPG. I get why they have to charge but i think 15-20...  [Read More]
One requirement is that they call the next game: Jedi Academy 2: Electric Boogaloo with Hulk Hogan doing voiceover for the baddie. "If you only knew the power of the dark side, BROTHER!!"...  [Read More]

True but then again the engine is becoming somewhat obsolete in terms of new games. Although call of duty was quite awesome and used Q3 to its fullest...... who can say?...  [Read More]

Originally posted by Kengo I genuinely doubt you'll see it anytime in the next 2 or 3 years. GTK Radiant is a pain at first if you were used to JK2Radiant like I was, but you get used to it after a bit, its not so bad. I agree, aiming for something...  [Read More]

Other than whats posted in the showcase forum, i would say probably not much. If the SP code were released however, i think you'd see about a 100% increase in SP map/mod production, myself included. Hopefully someday soon, eh?...  [Read More]

There are some in development in the showcase forum. I had been planning a pretty epic campaign but the lack of features in the game and the fact that a new version of JKradiant wasn't released kind of killed the project (or at least put it in limbo...  [Read More]

Nice work there dude. How about compiling all the hilts into one pk3, then releasing different versions as more hilts are completed? It would save a lot of room in your base folder as well...  [Read More]

I always thought that JK was more atmospheric than JO/JA. There was something about the level design or just the look, or even the textures used that really immersed me into the game. It just felt a lot more star warsy. I think the JO/JA games were a...  [Read More]

Actually, RPGing and FPS DO mix. Check out elder scrools 3 morrowind. That is an fps style rpg that could be altered to support a good star wars rpg. Another thing is that the MP code is radically different from the SP code, a lot of people, myself i...  [Read More]

I think true non-linearity is something you would find in games such as grand theft auto or even kotor to some extent. Moreso GTA because you could accept missions in any order you choose, plus you have a HUGE world to explore, not even a world, a ci...  [Read More]

txn, that is a dope idea, the next game should have you choose whether you want to be a lightsider or darksider from the outset and have a branch-like storyline towards the end like if you were a jedi then had to decide if you join the darkside or st...  [Read More]

I'd be interested to see what road the developers of the next game will take. Would they use the doom, half life, or unreal engine, or even something else? I could be wrong but from what i've heard, the doom engine doesn't really support multiple npc...  [Read More]

I feel your pain Aegis, witht the loss of the 1st person mode in this game i just lost interest, unlike JO which i played over and over and built about 20 unreleased SP maps for it. There was something else, i guess the story was better, i can't real...  [Read More]

I think they should make a game set during the prequels. Maybe have a game where you play as anakin and obi-wan during the clone wars (not based on the cartoon) but something along those lines, between episodes 1, 2, and 3. Or even as an original cha...  [Read More]

There are commands to get a semi first person perspective in academy. The thing is there's no transparent skin like there was in outcast so you have a hard time seeing through the skin when running or swinging the saber, which, for me killed the game...  [Read More]

Also, be sure to place area portals throughout your levels. AREA PORTALS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR YOUR MAP. Why? When you have two area portals placed within your doors the game has less to render and thus your frames per second are increased, especially if...  [Read More]
