No problem. That link to the CTF Group site really brings back memories ...and some painful ones, like how why signed on with eFront, unknowing of their immenent collapse due to scandal and mismanagement. ;P A great resource though! So no harm, no...  [Read More]

Darn I was hoping to have a nice discussion about this or read some new facts (even with bad spelling!). :( I'm sorry it came to this! I hope the new guy isn't totally scared off of posting entirely by us! Rather, he needs to just focus on quality,...  [Read More]

Hmm, didn't realize you could "grenade jump" in either game... I guess I just assumed it was a glitch! My mistake. ;) Perhaps the crawling thing might explain why they removed it, to limit players and prevent them from "exploiting&quo...  [Read More]

I just realized this today... apparently you can't "lie prone" or crawl anymore in the SWBF2 beta. Or am I just missing something? I don't know if this means it won't be in the full version... some people here were calling it "useles...  [Read More]

It may be possible, but not likely. JK2 had a several limits on elements (models, brushes, etc) that were hard coded into the engine. Loading SP maps in MP would crash due to too many of these. Plus it would take a lot of tweaking to get them playabl...  [Read More]

Ouch. ;P Well considering I do a scan every other day and regular registry scans/spyware scans I think I should be okay. But then of course Lucasarts and Pandemic take no responsibility if the beta screws your computer over according to the agreement...  [Read More]

I saw the Imperial Officer was good in the first alphas (a SWBFII presentation movie from April) so why did they change it.Also, why do they give the Imperial Officer a Commando Pistol that shoots sonic blasts?(forgot the name, the blasts out of the...  [Read More]

Right, mines should be effective against vehicles, but I feel that they should be used as defensive weapons. They should be set like traps around your command post, choke points, or a well traveled road to disrupt infantry and seriously weaken vehicl...  [Read More]

Exactly right. They've gone out of their way to make destroying vehicles easier, so nerfing mines more would only serve to defeat that purpose......  [Read More]

Also, this game BADLY needs an MP console. With the bad typing and being unable to see what you're writing, it's pathetic doing admin commands. Half the time you'll either forget a / or the game will drop out a / and you'll end up broadcasting your a...  [Read More]
Pandemic, GameSpy and Lucasarts set them up i believe. That's what I figured, but from the way you were talking I thought maybe they just contacted some fans and got them to do it "on the cheap" so to speak! I mean you're not getting paid...  [Read More]
The command line stuff worked in SWBF1 as well, it's virtually unchanged. So without a program module to launch a server or a stand alone file for running servers (the ones for SWBF1 were all huge unweildy affairs IIRC), it's about all you've got! A...  [Read More]
DSmanager is the GUI launcher that comes when you DL the dedicated server code. And how'd you get to download the dedicated server code? ;) and what exactly would be a professional server? However LucasArts/Pandemic setup the beta test in the...  [Read More]
actually, we have a direct line to teh devs. it was only a secret until someone 'remembered' how to actually use the command line. Not calling you a liar, mind you, but if you have a direct line to the SWBF2 team, why did you need to have an amate...  [Read More]
Apparently the "auto-aim" in SWBF1 was left on, it was a console leftover, since people couldn't aim as precisely with a gamepad as with a mouse, they gave them a bit of help. When people discovered it, they rationalized that this could be...  [Read More]
Also you might want to mention that you can change how many tickets each team begins with on each map. Though 200 vs 200 is what everyone is using and this is a good number (more than that it tends to drag on and usually you just win via captures in...  [Read More]
I don't know about you guys, but I can't tell the clones apart. I mean sure, if you showed me a picture of a guy in yellow with those pipes coming out of his head and held a gun to my head I'd say "pilot" and I think green is sergant or so...  [Read More]

So you think Lucas destroyed the Original Film Stock? I got the exact opposite impression from the Lowry interview(s). If he had done this, he could simply have said "the originals no longer exist, they have deteriorated" which is a FAR cry...  [Read More]

But that is only part of the cost. They don't magically appear on the shelves for free. And it is not something he wants to invest in anyway. If other directors do, great. I support their right to do that too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't F...  [Read More]
