There is nothing new to learn in GtkRadiant. If you cannot learn how to use a mouselook that you've been using for games in years, or cannot learn to read the new items in the menus, then you have bigger issues. Because that's about all you have to l...  [Read More]
Of course JO is its own final version. My point is that JO was, in some people's eyes, a screwup, that was never fixed. A lot of people think that JA has fixed a lot of these issues. JA was started almost immediatly after JO was done, and after it wa...  [Read More]
JA SP support for mods is supposed to be expanded greatly. Right now the team is trying to figure out where to start with scripting and AI, where as JA already has AI and ICARUS II right in MP! Please, tell me, what is the point of recoding scripting...  [Read More]

Yeah, of course the price would drop if everyone used them, but companies want to milk the current market as long as possible. Same reason we're still using 32-bit chips when the 64s have been around for years... Hopefully AMD's new 64-bit stuff that...  [Read More]

The most important thing is that they are expensive. More expensive to make, and more expensive for us to buy. It's much cheaper to use two CDs instead of one DVD. We've been playing games with two CDs since 1997 or earlier. Wing Commander III had li...  [Read More]

It's highly unlikely JA will need more than two CDs, which isn't enough for a DVD. DVD games won't really be profitable until DVD becomes more widely used....  [Read More]

Choosing your own Force powers means the level designers can't make puzzles that rely soley on Force powers, which means there must be alternate solutions, which means there is more replayability per level....  [Read More]

Yeah, I saw what you wrote, I ask because you are far from the most credible source. Not your fault, of course. Link me to where LEC or Raven has said this, and I'll believe it....  [Read More]

The unbreakable glass is not a bug, that's just when the designers didn't want you to break through that glass. Once again, I point to the Open Jedi Project for JA, which aims to fix bugs and enhance the game for developers and players. Minor gamepl...  [Read More]

I didn't do anything with the SoF2 code, ever. Only SP, and SP doesn't really have code. Not that we can have, anyway. What I mean, is that I looked into the tools, I poked around in GtkR with SoF2, and I found a lot of really cool stuff that you can...  [Read More]

About SoF2? I didn't look into it that much. It wouldn't help for the coding of JO either, since SP doesn't really have much code in SoF2, same as JO. But it has a lot more externalized stuff. If you're thinking about switching to SoF2, forget it. :...  [Read More]

I've gathered the following information on JA editing: 1. SP editing is greatly expanded, probably to the level of SoF2 or higher. The differences between JO and SoF2 SP modding are staggering. SoF2 lets you do almost anything you want. 2. Multipla...  [Read More]
