That would be good if was the case. Regardless, expect fairly rapid respawns on the starter and capital worlds to cope with the heavy load. As you progress further it should be a bit more even. Although some interactive quest objects and resource nod...  [Read More]

Yeah it's fairly bog standard MMO fare, albeit with several low health trash mobs rather than one or two higher health trash mobs. KOTOR is sluggish because under the skin it is essentially turn-based to accommodate the D&D mechanics, which they...  [Read More]

To be honest, there's probably no point trying to craft while levelling anyway. Unless they've changed things recently, the material requirements don't scale equally with the character level progression, so you're always behind the curve. Just wait t...  [Read More]

I wouldn't hold your breath. I'd put money on any official Oceania servers being in the US. Lots of MMOs have looked at providing local servers, but it doesn't make any financial sense. Besides, TOR is quite playable on US servers from Oz....  [Read More]
In TOR they call the planet "Hutta" without the "Nal" in front of it... and I can't seem to find an explanation as to why. They didn't at the very beginning of development, but they changed it for some reason. The dev team is in Au...  [Read More]

It sounds like they are doing waves across the day, so I'd be expecting you won't have too long to wait. I didn't get my code until mid-August, so I'm not expecting to get in until the 14th, but I guess we'll see in a few hours....  [Read More]

It has been in the FAQ for ages that early access would be staggered based on code registration date. I wouldn't get too worked up over it just yet though. See how the first day's invites roll out numbers-wise. You may well get in earlier than you ex...  [Read More]

Can't believe there won't be a grace period. And after Stephen Reid said there would be. A nice way to put the boot in to people that pre-ordered your game 6 months out (with no sign of a release date at the time)....  [Read More]

FFS people, back offPsychotic much? I don't believe anyone was attacking/abusing Zakhodit, just proposing alternate takes on the scenario. It's interesting you mention people having the freedom to have different ideas, yet you are attacking other peo...  [Read More]

If you are inviting friends to play with no prior MMO experience then you should be planning to group with them from the start and hand-hold them through the starter world at least. Leaving them to fend for themselves probably isn't the best idea. As...  [Read More]

The game shoves directions in your face with indicators over NPC's heads and map markers. There's not much more they could do, other than have something like the giant quest trails SWG introduced in the post-NGE tutorial zone (along the lines of Skyr...  [Read More]

Missions you get as loot are one-shot. I've gotten a bunch I can't use with Slicing, which I've thrown up on the GTN. With only a 2 day max sale period though, I don't know if they'll move. I have no idea of value, so I just went with the recommended...  [Read More]

It's possible we may eventually see something like rancor holos as ship decorations (along the lines of what SWG had) or maybe even tiny ones as non-combat pets (like WoW and SWG or the mouse droid of the TOR CE). There's no way you'd ever see a moun...  [Read More]

Yeah I took a few rides on the flying dolphins in my second beta weekend back in October. I doubt you'd ever get something like that as a player mount, but presumably things like Dewbacks have to be in the frame for inclusion. They said a few months...  [Read More]

It has always been 40K for the level 1 training as far as I know, certainly for several months at the very least. The level 2 and level 3 skills cost something in the order of 250K and 350K, respectively. At the moment there are a couple of "tr...  [Read More]

Each time you "lose" a social roll you gain a bonus to your next social roll until you finally win one. That mechanic was actually broken in the big beta weekend. Additionally, I think the subsequent patch changed it so that after you have...  [Read More]
