Another good combo is a couple of Fambaas, 3 or 4 medics, and a bunch of gungan ships. I love the ability of the frigates to duck out of the way and since the medics can heal the ships... :) (It actually works fairly well with the gungan fighters too...  [Read More]
Chop wood, farm, build houses and workers... Militarily speaking though, you might want to play around a bit and find out if you're better at rushing or defending (I prefer defending my first couple techs then hitting people with preliminary air to...  [Read More]

When I went one on one in hardest I hit the computer hard... with my scout. The longer you can delay the computer the better, and by delay I mean delay it from attacking your base. I had it chasing me all around the outer edge of it's base in order t...  [Read More]

I've beaten 7 computer opponents (at 1 time) on Hard and 1 computer opponent on Hardest. I've not even tried fighting 2 computers opponents at once on Hardest, since it pretty much cheats at the beginning. If you survive long enough to get to Tech IV...  [Read More]

Well there is that problem, yes. :) Generally that's why I don't worry about trading in a human vs human game (unless it's teams). Course, there's no reason you can't go in and start building walls and turrets in an opponent's base just to annoy 'em....  [Read More]

You can trade in a 1v1, you just need to surround your opponent's trade center with walls, turrets, troops or whatever to make sure it can't attack your trade units... Course, if you have turrets then there is a good chance that the trade center will...  [Read More]

Another thing you can do is play Co-op (which is the only way I've played multiplayer GB so far since my friend and I like teaming up). Hook up with one or two people then have the players team up against the computer. One advantage to this is that i...  [Read More]

The computer assumes that if you tell a unit to kill/destroy something that you want it to kill/destroy that something before doing anything else, even if it gets attacked. Thus, if you tell all your troopers to attack a power core, building, whateve...  [Read More]

First thing you should do is use all your food to build workers (this assumes your starting with the usual 200-500 food). Have them all start on carbon (though you might want to have one build a prefab or two), while your scout checks out your immedi...  [Read More]

I can see making the gunship carry troops if the republic lost the ability to have air transports. They'd get the bonus of having troop transports that can attack like fighters, but they lose the ability to air drop bigger units like mechs and artill...  [Read More]

I agree that the Assault Mech can carry troops, but I don't see it as a "transport." Transports are designed to carry troops where they can't get to on their own, and generally they tend to move faster than the troops themselves can move. T...  [Read More]

Nah, I don't like the idea of fighters carrying troops because it pretty much negates the need for a transport. Purpose of the transport is to get people to a specific place quickly. Think about it. Do players put people in the Strike Mechs because t...  [Read More]

A fair amount of people dis the A-wings, but I have found them to be quite effective as AA troop destroyers (in addition to regular troops and workers). Their heightened speed and extended range helps them evade missiles better, which is important wh...  [Read More]

I like a variety of civs for various reasons so it's hard to pick a favorite. One of the things I really like that's new, though, is the regenerating gungan buildings. It's nice that after your turrets wipe out an attacking armour that they can heal...  [Read More]

I responded to this question fairly thoroughly in the Warroom Strategy section. So you might want to check it out if you're having problems (my strategy has worked for me so far). I tend to use Maul like Chrono Sabre does when you get down to the bot...  [Read More]

Oh, I agree, the AT-ATs are undeniably the best mechs around... heck they were even before they got the anti-air boost. :) Now if you're supporting them with air then yes, they are going to be a lot more effective. A squadron of rebel fighters and sp...  [Read More]

The AT-AT's are powerful, but I hardly think they negate the need for anti-air, especially depending on the opponent. Shielded/armours fighters will shread the Empires air support and cost much less than AT-ATs. In addition, since Assaults have minim...  [Read More]

Just curious, what are you spending half your nova on in the first 30 seconds? Mounted troopers perhaps? (I usually don't spend any of my nova until Tech II, unless someone starts over very close and I decide to rush in Tech I.) Then again, I suppose...  [Read More]

I'd say the republic get better tech advantages overall than the trade fed, though one group of HDD (properly supported) can royally screw that over. Of course, TF also has an advantage in the water--not that many people are willing to play on it. Re...  [Read More]

The answer is both. Use your Assault Mechs to slaughter the big stuff (shield generators, assault mechs, and artillery if necessary) and take out the troops with your HHDs. Even shielded, the gungan troops get slaughtered by HHDs. For more info see m...  [Read More]
