Eagle- 1. So image how long it will take to master four instead of two :). Therefore, you get more for your money are greater variety 2. It gets more interesting after you have used the same units and straegies against the same enemy countless times...  [Read More]

Alright, so the question is 'should EaW have more than two civs?' Easy answer: YES, for a number of reasons 1. Variety - as different as the Empire and Rebellion are, it won't take long for people to master each civ, which will quickly get boring. A...  [Read More]

Hi folks. With the recent influx of seemingly quality SW games (even though EaW is only half a game), which one will those of us on limited budgets buy? I'm looking at KotOR mainly because KotOR is the best game i've ever played, RC I don't know enou...  [Read More]

Frankly I doubt it, because it would create too much micro, but you never know. As for warships, why would they carry warheads? The films make it clear they do not, and there doesnt seem to be much point in it anyway....  [Read More]

Jan - hardly. The way I look at the Republic in Ep1 and until the end of Ep2 is basically that of the United Nations, except with more power. It doesn't have its own military, which is why one was created for them in Ep2. Also, if the Republic alread...  [Read More]

Jan - what i'm talking about are the Dreadnaughts in the 'Thrawn Trilogy'. They were supposed to be part of the Republic Fleet before the Clone Wars, and yet when we finally see the Clone Wars, they use completely new equipment for a completely new A...  [Read More]

heavy - i agree it should be a superweapon, but restricted to only one. The main problem you face is that the Rebellion never had anything that was even close to the power of the SSD, so you would just need to restrict them to one, make them insanely...  [Read More]

Getting back to the topic at hand, if the SSD is going to be included in the game, preferably as a hero unit, it really should be vulnerable to starfighters while easily defeating the larger ships. luke - I didn't say the Executor only shot down two...  [Read More]

stinger - the problem here is that we simply do not know one way or the other. From the way I see it, it makes sense militarily and economically to have the most armour and shielding on the sides of the ships, with the least on the ventral and dorsal...  [Read More]

Jan - actually, there are restrictions as to where you can go, and particually with reference to the game, having big ships only able to move in 2D makes my example VERY relevant. Also, I can't confirm or deny if ships uses 'angels' but they could at...  [Read More]

sting - 1. wrong, they were designed to fight in a three-dimensional battlefield, and must because of the ballistic nature of artillery 2. True, and if you notice direct hits are very hard to land in the space battles in SW unless they are at point-...  [Read More]

sting - ISD's and SSD's are futuristic Battleships, and X-wings and Y-wing's are futuristic fighters - whats your point? In addition, you are incorrect. In naval combat, guns fire their shells on ballistic paths except under very rare instances (ie B...  [Read More]

HOWARD - the TIE Interceptor, TIE Bomber, A-wing, Mon Cal Cruiser, Escort Frigate, Rebel Heavy Transport, TIE Crawler, AT-ST, AT-AT, Speeder Bikes etc would all have to be removed if the devs wanted the game to fit in RotS-ANH. Then again, you could...  [Read More]

A morale boost would be the most logical choice, giving a bonus to things like rate-of-fire, accuracy, friendlies take less damage etc. I was also thinking though that the exact opposite could happen if the SSD was destroyed. While you would certainl...  [Read More]
luke - you seem to have missed the point. The VSD was never seen in the films, and hence it doesnt matter if it is redesigned. Also, what I am suggesting is the VSD be redesigned to fit more with what it is supposed to be. After all, the VSD is suppo...  [Read More]
Hi folks. I was looking at the ISD, VSD and RAS, and thinking of how the VSD fits in between the RAS and ISD. Basically, the VSD looks to me (in the game at least) to be an ISD that has been shrunk with cheek fairings added. What i'm wondering is, s...  [Read More]

Jan - although yes, Han does call an ISD a cruiser, the term 'cruiser' is used for basically any warship in the OT really, even the PT. However, they are also correctly referred to as Star Destroyers whereas the Transports are referred to only as &qu...  [Read More]

luke - I never said materials aren't important, just that the thickness of the King Tiger's armour and the sloping far offset any difference in quality of materials. As for timeline, to an extend yes and to an extent no. Basically, if LA wants to in...  [Read More]

luke - any tank would get pummelled by field guns because they are artillery, and hence must have a high muzle velocity to lob their projectiles, hence the instand conversion of the 88mm AA gun to the best AT gun of the war. Also, materials dont make...  [Read More]

Phreak - but the point here is that OT COMBAT IS BASED ON THE SECOND WORLD WAR!!! Look at any documentary where Lucas describes how he developed the combat in the OT, and he says that he got it from watching old WW2 combat tapes to re-create both the...  [Read More]
Guys (and girls), i'm not saying that the game shouldn't have any EU, it needs it to fill out the spaces and include the things the sides would have used but we didnt see in the films. What i am aying is that the EU material shouldn't CHANGE the char...  [Read More]
See, this is where EU really goes off the rails and starts to change the nature of the various sides involved. Some EU is acceptable, some is not. For example- Acceptable EU - Interdictor Cruiser - makes sense if you think about it, and allows heavy...  [Read More]

ON-TOPIC: The way I see it, if this game had the Republic and Confederacy, Jedi would be essential to the game because of their huge role in the PT and CW. However, as it is only half a game, and due to it being set in the old inferior half (OT) the...  [Read More]
