Could someone tell me how to link between different modules that you've made? GSccc's tutorial says how to link to the existing game levels with their numeric names and tags, but how would you do it for one of your own?...  [Read More]

Hopefully you'll post a link once you've come up with something final, Super Nashwan! I will if I can get it looking a bit less rubbish than it is now. lol have you considered using the space battle modules for your cinematic? I wouldn't know where...  [Read More]

Another way you could try it is to use a space simulation game - I'll probably get flamed for saying this here but Bridge Commander is perfect. If you go to the Bridge Commander part of filefront and download some of the movies people have made, you'...  [Read More]

Quanon, forgot to ask, how did you do the opening crawl effect? That was one of the main things I needed to know. Also, how did you do those camera transitions. Look very Starwarsy. :)...  [Read More]

Hey man that's awesome! If I can manage anything approaching your Iron Talon clip I'll be sorted. Thanks for the links, I'll definitely try that. BTW, how did you manage the glow coming out of the engines? Was that done in Max or was it done after?...  [Read More]

Ironically, I am on a course but they don't teach us anything. I learn more about game design from people in here than on the course. The mod I'm doing is for my final year project so I'm trying to throw in as many game design elements as possible to...  [Read More]

Does anyone know anything about making the cinematics for the game? I played a Storyline mod which had cinematics but the author doesn't seem to come on here anymore. I was wondering how to do the opening crawl with the yellow text receding into the...  [Read More]

Oops, you're right, sorry. The label info I was after was in the Doors thread. I was looking in the Triggers section. It's the bit about TransitionDestin. I didn't know about the dialog.tlk file. So I guess if I want to change "Refugee Sector&qu...  [Read More]

Seamhainn, I checked out your thread but there was nothing about the STRUCT ID or the transition label, and the link you provided was the original article I mentioned by stoffe. I understnad how it works in theory, it's just getting it to do specifi...  [Read More]

Can someone tell me what the STRUCT ID bit means in the Triggers list. I read a tutorial by stoffe that says it should be set to 1. The one I was trying to edit was set to 3 which might explain why it didn't work, but knowing what they all mean would...  [Read More]

Ok I have it now. Those were the wrong files. It's actually PER_EH1.tga. Although they look identical the previous 3 don't seem to have any effect on the Ebon Hawk's hull. Thanks for the suggestions anyway....  [Read More]

I'm having trouble reskinning the Ebon Hawk. I tried changing the textures I found in the TexturePacks directory, namely: 002_EBO_Main1.tpc 002_EBO_Main2.tpc 002_EBO_Main3.tpc But after putting them in the Override folder absolutely nothing changed...  [Read More]

I've discovered that one of the entries in the dialogue file references a script called a_doorpuzzle, which no doubt opens the door on completion. Unfortunately it's one of those compiled ones that I can't view or edit. Does anyone know where I can...  [Read More]

Ok, I finally got this working. It does actually have to be a specific console placeable. What I need to figure out now is how to make it open a door on completion of the puzzle. That's what it originally did, but I need it to open MY door not the on...  [Read More]

Oh yeah, I see what you mean. I found the games in the corresponding dialog files. But how do you initiate them? I tried to do it the same way as a regular convo but it didn't work. I picked a random computer console Placeable, then in it's conversa...  [Read More]

Does anyone know how to set up one of those puzzle games on the computer terminals, like the one at Nar Shaddaa where you have to identify the ship serial numbers, or the one on Peragus where you have to guess that number to open the turbolift? Actu...  [Read More]
