Sure that SCUMMRev 2 reads Behind the Magic bundles, bg? Because I'm not :) But I wouldn't remember anymore... - Serge...  [Read More]

Yeah, ScummIDE might never happen. Lots of film and music stuff going on lately. And there will be for a loooong time. Haven't done programming at all for the past several months. But the posters for it were so nifty :) - Serge...  [Read More]

Actually, I won't bother... Either Ben is trying to keep some secrets, or he just got the site back... http://gamefileformats.netfirms.com/cgi-bin/list.cgi?cat=LucasArts Hope I didn't let out a secret there. Sorry in that case :) - Serge...  [Read More]

I got the code from Ben at one point. May still have it somewhere. I'll check when I get home (and wait for Ben's approval to send it to you, Endy ;) ) Actually, SCUMMRev3 was supposed to be plugin-compatible (with PCM-streaming sound codecs, BMP-ou...  [Read More]

Just to clarify (something that's probably already clear): The dog house in GF is the default room of the game. It switches to that room if anything goes wrong in loading the room it actually needs (and maybe in some other cases). And yes, it's mos...  [Read More]

I don't have the sources for SCUMMRev3 near where I am now, but the compression used is LZSS (LZ77), if you don't know that compression scheme look it up on the net. As far as I recall, the THRESHOLD constant is 4 or something. Really can't recall it...  [Read More]

As far as I recall, it's actually in the voxdisk2.bun (the bundle with the voices) not musdisk2.bun, but I'm not really sure. Maybe try and open the .bun in SCUMMRev3 and sort by block size (I THINK that's possible in the released version of SR3) to...  [Read More]

I'll obviously post here regularly. As for getting my own connection, I'm not sure when/if it'll happen. Live happily without it at the moment (except for the times I'm bored and want IRC :) ) Well, hope there's at least SOME helpful stuff in the ID...  [Read More]

Sure, sure, share away. Sent it to ender at scummvm.org... Please let me know as soon as you have it (and you've unrar'ed it). The web-based email system of the university isn't quite finished, and it may just do a non-error if the attachment is too...  [Read More]

Still trying to connect to anything. Not sure if it's just mIRC giving weird responses to ports that they've shut down at uni. Oh well... Can't find any email address of yours, except for the sourgeforge one. OK to send to that one? - Serge...  [Read More]

Would you believe I'm actually here to send the IDB to you, and then some moron sits at the only comp here that has a CD-ROM drive, and the two (2!) floppy discs I copied the file to, just in case, BOTH have errors. I hate floppies more than ever. Th...  [Read More]

Nah, my redone version is better anyway. I'll add the old stuff etc. and send the new one to you. Soon Endy, soon. I hope. (Although I have nothing to do at uni until February 3, I might just go outthere just for you to mail it ;) ) - Serge...  [Read More]

There's no way you can get a say in the style I annotate in. ;) First of all, because I do it the way that's faster for me, secondly because that way changes with each time I come back to it after some months' break :) In any event, it's only variab...  [Read More]

I back up all the time... The question often is, what to back up. And the last time I did a complete format/reinstall, I probably didn't remember how long I spent doing the IDB, and didn't have any intention of continuing work on SCUMM stuff, so, it...  [Read More]

About the IDBs for COMI and the promised complete opcode list. It would seem that I've lost all the "secondary literature" for the last time I worked on ScummIDE. Only have a COMI.IDB from february 2001, and no complete opcode -> functio...  [Read More]

The commercial games factor is quite settled on. I could never allow anyone to make commercial games with an engine that isn't my own. So, freeware only, not even shareware. The IDB, as bg has probably told you, is a no-no. Only reason being that I...  [Read More]

I did. I think I had a list of about 20-30 varnames and guesses at varnames. Didn't add the rest, since they were non-engine variables and I wasn't sure if they were used for different purposes in different scripts. Never got down to checking, so......  [Read More]
