The jedi use natural crystals to power theirs. and the sith used synthetic. That's not true, actually. According to the Shadows of the Empire Novelisation (an EU source of course) Luke's lightsaber is made with synthetic crystals, and it happens...  [Read More]

The official story I've heard many times is that the reason they used a Green saber for Luke in ROTJ was primarily because it showed up better against the yellow sandy background of Tatooine (notice how Anakin's blue saber in ANH looks greenish in th...  [Read More]

Some have speculated that the color of the bolts has something to do with the "efficiency" of the "lasers" being used, but that's purely fan speculation. I am guessing that the blaster/turbolaser mechanism is supposed to be diffe...  [Read More]

It shouldn't matter what side you're on, but rather what weapons you use. After all, Queen Amidala has a "green" blaster in TPM, and everybody else everywhere in the movies uses red, with a few exceptions (Clonetroopers use Blue in AOTC)....  [Read More]

Speaking of which, and this is somewhat off topic now, if you take one of our infamous "force long posts" and feed it into readplease and pick the "Sam" voice (the old guy), and put it at the slowest speed, it is really.... really...  [Read More]

The technology exists (see for example www.readplease.com) and its improving. However I haven't seen it (yet) used in a game, other than the "letter only pronunciation" I have seen in arcade games (when you enter your initials for the hig...  [Read More]

Heard of IP banning? FACT. Coming back under a different name when the community obviously doesn't want you here, is what we refer to as "Bad Behaviour". OPINION. (one I happen to agree with) I'm all for people saying they're sorry a...  [Read More]

When you want to verify facts, especially about something you don't know much about, you consult experts (scientists, doctors, lawyers, etc). On the other hand, these people provide "professional opinions" as well, so try not to confuse the...  [Read More]

A simpler way to differentiate is to say that: Facts = true whether you believe them or not, not based on popularity. Opinions = interpretations of reality. some are more 'informed' than others, but everybody's got one. many are purely subjective a...  [Read More]

Of course we Catholics believe that Purgatory exists, based on Christian tradition, not just what the current Pope says. Also, the Pope only speaks infallibly when he speaks "Ex Cathedra" ie: in his official capacity as Bishop of the Whole...  [Read More]

In the end I'd like to postualte one thing: I see NO reason why ANY normal person can't understand fully this monstrous multiverse. It's only a matter of good explanation. That's it. I would contend that the universe is too vast and complex a system...  [Read More]

Now I'm not a physics major, but I did a little searching on a the net and now I know who this guy is you're talking about. He's the premier champion of this multiverse theory (a variation on the "many worlds" concept of space/time). Howev...  [Read More]

I would be open to the possibility of a multiverse, but I'd need some pretty convincing evidence, let's put it that way. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Notice I haven't tried to "prove" that an infinite, omnipotent God...  [Read More]

It's a pitty that Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith were never released on the Mac. I'm sure it (JKA) will be ported eventually. It will be nice to have some more players to fight against/with. The Mac version of JK2 did have higher res pre-rendered...  [Read More]

So far, Kyle has only been mentioned or referenced in the NJO. He has yet to be seen "on screen" in a book. (here's hoping that he'll have a cameo at the very least, prolly in the final all-or-nothing battle. I re-read the press release an...  [Read More]

We've never seen a canon example of a Jedi trying to hold his breath in vacuum... though there's some stuff in the EU that I don't really remember. Still, a Jedi in a Zero-G combat suit? Cool. Jedi Fighter pilots we've seen. They're cool. It's jus...  [Read More]

Jedi used guns (and other non-saber weapons) in the Tales of the Jedi comics as well. It's totally logical that a force user wouldn't be limited just to a lightsaber in combat. We've seen Jedi fighter pilots too for example......  [Read More]
