I have the latest version of DirectX, so I did what you suggested and turned the sound acceleration down to basic, and it didn't even improve the cutscene playback. Any other final tricks up your sleeve?...  [Read More]

I gave it a shot, but it was just as choppy as the other compatibility modes. I've been using CPU Grabber, which has helped immensely, but the speech/animation lag still occurs at intervals. Just not as a dramatically as it did without the applicatio...  [Read More]

I'm running GF in compatibility mode for Win98 on XP. Though compatibility fixed a serious sound issue for me, it created a new problem-- some very jerky cutscenes. At first, I simply enabled 3D hardware acceleration, which seemed to make it stop, bu...  [Read More]

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't want a sequal, I want a remake. New graphics, bugs fixed, updated to run on fast systems, missing content put in, a LITTLE bit more interaction and easter eggs(just as a bonus), and maybe even one or...  [Read More]

not all animated movies are for children and are marketed that way. it definately should be animated, but can be marketed towards an older audience. look at the final fantasy movie; little kids didnt go for that. adults and teens sure did, though....  [Read More]

...i'm pretty sure we're all aware of the constant refrences to Casablanca in Grim Fandango. The Blue Casket and The Blue Parrot, Chowchilla Charlie as the Peter Lorre character, the crooked cop in Manny's casino, and the similarities in structure of...  [Read More]

Actually dude, that's not a plothole and I'll tell you why. It does not take Manny and Glottis one day to reach Rubacava. Not once does it say, "The Next Morning..." and they're there. Sure the scene from the Gopher Bridge and the arrival a...  [Read More]

I seriously can't believe any self-respecting writer could do something like that and have it be serious. It had to have been a joke. Who could possibly think that Nazi Gorillas would: a) sell? b) be entertaining in a serious way? c) fit into an...  [Read More]

Well if the situation is that if you're able to save, and after you do so it crashes...instead of loading from in-game, load from the Startup screen by pressing Resume Last Saved Game. Of course, I've probably just said something really redundant....  [Read More]
If there were to be a Grim Fandango two, I'd love for it to be an entirely seperate story set in the same world. Something really swanky and noir-ish. That boat idea is a great idea, for instance. But if they brought back Manny and Mece or Glottis o...  [Read More]
I certainly hope they're won't be a sequel. But if there was, of course (even the ones who despise the GF2 possibility), I'd buy and play it. I don't think it would revisit any characters we've seen in the original. I'm just praying someone will upda...  [Read More]

Probably due to XP again. As I've done with other posters, I suggest you download the patch and copy the Grim Fandango files from the CD to your hard drive (read the readme from the game and patch update)....  [Read More]
