Euhm, DDD, she's talking about Smoothing groups.
Its kind of an effect that "fakes" many sides on cylinder, to but it blunt, you could make a Cube look like a Ball/Sphere with those.
Just look down at the bottom of the Editable Poly/mesh modifier.
You'll see a part with lots of number buttons.

Hey, have you worked on the Skull saber any? I might try it after the double one, but I tried to model a skull a while back and sadly failed.

Autodesk should replace the Teapot primitive with a Skull... :xp:
With a game like KotOR you wouldn't need to model the skull. Texturing it onto a sphere would be sufficient since you would never see it closely enough to notice it wasn't 'properly' modeled.

make a one the basically has scales and a snake head with fangs sticking out for eyes evil looking blood red or sith eyes and it could be a sith lord saber double ended!!

Btw, GMax can open .3ds files. You just have to go to File>Import instead of File>Open.
It's just .max files it can't work with. ;)

I think I may have an estimated release date:
If we keep working at our current speed, the USM should be finished in two to three months.
This is only an estimate however as there are still a lot of models left to make as well as all the scripts, 2da edits and dialogs etc.
