Look at the LucasArts screenshots, the ones with the Star Destroyers blowing up. The domes on top of them are intact. Also, none of the crosshairs around on the ship are centered on the shield generator (but maybe the shots only shows the targettable...  [Read More]

That could be done with "normal" special units, too. Give a ship a more experienced crew and it repairs damage better, aims better, and so on. If you put a skilled captain on a Calamarian Cruiser, it'd fight better. And so on. The problem...  [Read More]

No. "Hero ships" attract shots and thus either have to be made much more powerful than would be reasonable, or get blown up at once. My compromise to ships, though, is this: You can't build the Falcon, but you can build YT-1300 transports....  [Read More]

In Ground Control you could shut it off. What was annoying with said game, however, was that units didn't watch it. If you had a heavy terradyne squad and it spotted an enemy unit, it'd open fire - even if your Command APC was in the way and got blas...  [Read More]
