Unless your dial up is 28.8k, the game will definately work in multiplayer -- as Popcorn basically said, however, the question is how well. You might easily experience a greater deal of lag compared to an ADSL connection, but if all you care about is...  [Read More]

That is quite the interesting situation, indeed. Would you mind posting your full PC specs?...  [Read More]

The problem most likely deals with your processor, Nikolas, I've noticed this issue as well, I've reasoned that space combat runs alot better because it has less assets and processor intensive operations to run -- in a ground battle, the game not onl...  [Read More]

It's hard to assess what the problem might be without more information. I need your PC specs, and the next time you try to run EaW, I want you to look at all of the proccesses you're running alongside the demo and try and post a copy (a very rough co...  [Read More]

Vista is the way of the future, it's going to be a true 64 bit OS (Windows XP 64 bit edition is not really worth the trouble). If you're going to ugprade, look for a dual core setup, you don't need Vista right away, but if you have a dual core rig i...  [Read More]

Yeah, "MoBo" or "mobo" is short for motherboard. Also, to help reinforce what other people have alluded too, I strongly suggest getting a PCI-E enabled motherboard if you're upgrading. The AGP slot is a dying one, and at most, the...  [Read More]

It could be a combination of RAM and videocard. More then likely it's because of your videocard, the FX 5200 is a slightly dated card now adays having been one of the top tier cards back in the 4800 days (for NVidia), but boosting the RAM never hurts...  [Read More]

Well once you create the new unit (i.e: rather than just replacing the in-game ones with Star Trek ones) you could use the level editing capability (when we get it) to create new levels with those Trek units, and thus your Trek only missions or whate...  [Read More]

I thought it would be cooler to have multiple sides involved in the conflict. Get the Imperials, Rebs, Feds, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians (or whomever) in one big free for all (assuming the game is moddable to that faction extent). This would als...  [Read More]

Well, I gave those links just as references, I.E. conceptual ideas for units. It'd be pretty hard to model this game after a realistic interpretation of the two universes (calculations from on screen evidence -- yes there's people that calculate it -...  [Read More]

To help with unit creation/design for the MOD, here are two websites with a decent amount of Star Trek military information: www.ditl.org AND www.treknology.org. The treknology website has grounds units, but most are non-canon, they do, however, co...  [Read More]
