I agree completely, Popcorn. A true/false toggle would be most effective. Just as well, 9999999 settings -are- a bit of a copout, aren't they....  [Read More]

If hero respawn happened on the (real-time) Galaxy Map though, it would make moot any attempt to mod them to stay dead - eventually, they would come back....  [Read More]

It's still not clear when you would order a hero to respawn. Would it be on the Galactic Map? Or in the midst of a battle? It wouldn't make much sense to have it on the Galaxy Map. Where would your hero be respawning? How? Furthermore, it would mak...  [Read More]

I respectfully would have to disagree. If the player is faced with the possibility of his heroes dying, he will be more careful managing them; you wouldn't have to worry about losing Vader in a matter of hours if you were careful with him. ;p...  [Read More]

But what about Obi-Wan? Palpatine? Bail Organa (died when the Death Star blew up Alderaan)? Darth Vader? Episodes 2 and 5 were the only ones in which a major character did not die. Die. As in, expire. No more. None of the movies would have had wei...  [Read More]

Maybe respawnable for multiplayer games. But certainly not for the campaign. It would ruin the feeling of a galaxy-wide struggle if the deaths of your greatest fighters could just be shrugged off....  [Read More]

On the Petroglyph fan forums, one of the Petro techs who is cool enough to chat with us implied that heroes are going to be respawnable after they are killed...much like Battle for Middle Earth, or Warcraft, or any other hero-based RTS. What are you...  [Read More]

Systems is the generic Star Wars way of referring to a planet. "...or other STAR SYSTEMS will suffer the same fate as Alderaan," like Kenobi said in Episode IV. In other words, we will have 80+ PLANETS. Which is still pretty good, if you...  [Read More]

I'm dissapointed too about the "create your own history" section being dashed too, I must say, but it is far too premature to know whether the game will suck or not. This game does seem to have some innovative and fun features, and we'll ha...  [Read More]

I still hope (if they indeed do a ROTJ type expansion), that it STARTS before Episode IV would have ended. That way, Tarkin would still be alive, the Death Star would not have been destroyed, it would truly be with a clean slate....  [Read More]

One of the team leaders of the Star Wars: Legacy of War mod had emailed Petroglyph in March concerning SSDs, and he got back a "yes" answer. He didn't specify whether it will be a hero unit or a regular produceable unit....  [Read More]

Planets can rebel, he says? I wonder if he was just being evasive, and was being a smartass by saying, "well of course the Rebels can capture a planet." Either that, or maybe planets can truly leave your fold if you don't garrison them righ...  [Read More]

Actually, the Dominion War was my favorite part of Deep Space Nine. Prior to it, DS9 was somewhat of another hokey, technobabbling Star Trek rendition. But after it began, the show started becoming very political, and me like that....  [Read More]

As for whether a Vong situation deviating too much from canon would jeoporadize any sequel game, I would disagree. Making a quality game is the ultimate priority. That being attained, hiding behind canon is the last thing you should lose sleep over....  [Read More]

Ehh, have an open mind. The Sith Empire v. the Republic could be very compelling, if done right in the EaW model. You'd simply have to give much more of an emphasis to Force-users, to get that sort of Old Republic mythos feeling going. Besides, any...  [Read More]

You keep talking about the choices and actions you'll do outside of the battle part itself. We are focusing specifically on that part. In R:TW, you had the possibility to win a battle using your head and certain advantages even when overwhelmed by...  [Read More]

The realm time Galaxy Map has been confirmed. This will not be R:TW in space. As for multiple battles at once, this won't be an issue. "Time" will stand still on the macro level while you're in a battle on a planet or in its orbit. Think Re...  [Read More]
