There will be over eighty planetary systems to wage war on and above. So don't expect one battle to decide the outcome of the war.

This is a Quote out of a Preview from www.pcgameworld.com)

In the last monthґs there was only around 40 Star systems, as told in the Movie from the EA-Australia Expo.

Anyone who knows more?

Alright let me clear somethings up,

Gamefreak: it does say 50, but it says OVER 50 (gotta read carefully), so petro could add more if they wanted.

Ghost: It says over 80 planetary systems, not battle fields. Theirfore there would be 160 total land and space areas. Also read the quote carefully, it says there will be 80 sytems to wage war on and above. Theirfore there will be 160 battlefields, with 80 on land and 80 in space.

Nuke: Great find!

I like the number 80 its nice. Im gald to see petro will be makin a lot more planets than 20. 80 is just fine for me. Finally some good news lol jk.

When did I say 160? I said I heard there was 40 planets. On each planet you have a ground battle and a space battle, there for 80 areas to fight in.

You didn't say 160, Popcorn said 160. But he said 160 battlefields (space and ground). The articale says 80 systems, as in star systems (like our own solarsystem).

And while we're mentioning systems, would that mean we get much more space and ground battlefields? :)
I mean, take the Corellian System. If Corellia, Talus, Tralus, Selonia, and Drall are all in the game, that's 10 battlefields in 1 star system right there. :p :D ;)

hehe, I keeed. :D

Well, partially. All those planets I mentioned do orbit the same star. :)

It also says:

All the troops and ships from the classic Star Wars movies plus a few seen in Episode III will be at your disposal.

and we know for a fact that that is not true :(

and i now it said 50+ i just forgot to put that in

I think that we can safely assume that 80+ is an official number, I checked out the official Petro website and there reporting it as news, so therefore it must be true information.

I hope they can keep diversity up with 80+ systems.

We might end up with more then one similar system. That would be unfortunate.

I've heard 80+ as well, but i'm also like Jan wondering if there will be multiple planets in a single system which would be cool. Have to wait till the chat too chech with Petroglyph I guess.

Systems is the generic Star Wars way of referring to a planet.

"...or other STAR SYSTEMS will suffer the same fate as Alderaan," like Kenobi said in Episode IV.

In other words, we will have 80+ PLANETS. Which is still pretty good, if you ask me.

Hehe, no, a sector is a sector, a system is a system, a planet is a planet, and a moon is a moon. ;)

However, I have no doubt that when they (Petro) says system, they mean planets. :)

OOT:
Could someone please explain a non American why everyone says CAPITOL instead of Capital ...

Capitol is the smallest of seven Hills in the antique Rome ^^
(or the place of US-American legislature).

Capital to us is money or resources...

Capitol is the Seat of the Government...

In the US "The Capitol" is slang for the Congress

Of course they mean that. Only we would take it to be that literal.

In the game Rebellion system was used interchangably as a single planet. And a sector had systems in it, and the galaxy consisted of sectors. So Im almost 100 percent sure system and planet are interchangable.

Yes, that's what I said. In the gaming world they are.

Rebellion didn't have a system (game system) that would have allowed the displaying of star systems containing multiple planets such as the Corellian Star System. Thus you had Corellia, Tralus, Talus, Selonia, and Drall scattered around in the Corellian Sector instead. Tralus for instance was on the opposite side of that Sector even and took days to reach it, which from a technical point of view doesn't make sense. But from a game point of view it does.

So unless EaW has the ability to zoom in so you can see star systems, then it will be the same here, except hopefully they will be grouped together instead of spread around in the galaxy this time.

There will be over eighty planetary systems to wage war on and above. So don't expect one battle to decide the outcome of the war. There will also be a multiplayer mode but Petroglyph and L.A. are keeping a tight lid on that information. What is known is there will be a skirmish mode for up to eight players.

Well I remember that in the past we maked a lot of lobby for 80 planets. I mean we had unofficial debates with Mike, Brett and Chris etc... and we were never able to win.

I do remember that we had 60 that in the latest update .... but now 80 !?! this can only mean that our community efforts payed off.

Congrats to all the people involved in the lobby. We made it !

"FYI, there is not 80 planets in the game. It's more like a little over 40"
-Delphi-PG

For who ever made that rumor :ears1: :ears1: :blast5:
