Random, great that you got your "Theater Wide" promo photo autographed by Ms. Allen and a Topps Widevision card to boot! :D (Thanks, I hope to get mine shipped out to me someday soon.)
Well I don't know exactly how you are a fan and how you consider Aayla but many Star Wars fans tend to have a favorite character. (To me it is Aayla Secura, the fact that she's a female character is rather insignificant to my being a fan of the character, so that doesn't really play any part.) Having fun with such a hobby and being passionate is often more joyous than just living your life without any joy or divertisement, I rather be passionate than be a 'grey' person so to speak.
Besides, knowing evrything and collecting everything for a character like Aayla Secura is doable, fun and far less a dauntingly expensive task than say knowing and collecting all of a character like Obi-Wan or Darth Vader. :p
Some Aayla Secura fanart I ran accross online:

Colored anime style Aayla fanart by DMac.
An update on Amy Allen's current convention schedule (List is tentative and subject to change.):
- June 26-29, Origins 2003 Columbus, Ohio (
http://www.originsgames.com/events/index.cfm?action=home&nodeID=352&nodename=Events)
- July 24-27, Gen Con Indy (
http://www.gencon.com/display.aspx?file=indy)
- October 3-5, Pop-Culture Con Cincinatti (
http://www.popculturecon.com/)
- October 11-12, Hamburg Star Wars Fandays (
http://www.sw-con.de)
Thanks for the art links, I always like seeing other people's vison of Aayla. Witch reminds me, I ought to draw some more for myself, but its like anything else, I gotta be in the mood. If I try to force a drawing out I'll hate it and half-arse it. Nobody wants that.
And some good points about collecting. I think that the "hugeness" of SW was what put me off of the EU for so long. It would be pretty hard to track down everything for Han or any of the major players. Almost impossible.
Just lucky I've got somebody like you keeping an eye out for all the news I need. Thanks man!
I love both those fanarts, especially the anime style one. Be sure to post more from DMac if you come across any. Thnx. ;)
As for the being too obsessed thing, well look at it this way, if you can't do what you enjoy and love, what can you do? It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, so long are you are happy. =)
Random, I'm looking forward to seeing your new fanartworks. :) Hope you make some in the future still.
No problem, I just try and find the news or stay tuned to it, I'll certainly miss scoops or hot news items here and ther ebut when I do see something I try and share with all fans asap. :)
leXX, glad you like the fanartworks, they are pretty cool indeed! :)
I do agree with your wise words, very well said and even words to live by!
Starwars.com Hyperspace (
http://www.starwars.com/hyperspace/) has now confirmed that Jedi Master Plo Koon will be appearing in Episode III (possibly even with some dialogue lines), again played by Matt Sloan who portrayed the character in Episode II.
This means that now, only days before shooting is to begin, most prominent Jedi and background Jedi who appeared in Episode II have now been confirmed (or denied) to appear in Episode III: Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Yoda, Plo Koon, Ki-Adi Mundi, Stas Allie, Bultar Swan, Shaak Ti, Luminara Undulli, Barriss Offee, Saesee Tinn, Agen Kolar, ... but not Aayla Secura. There has been no word nor reliable rumor about Aayla Secura returning in Episode III (and hence portrayed by Amy Allen).
Unfortunately it's beginning to look like Aayla Secura may not appear in Episode III. :(
(Which seeing how many other Jedi from Episode II are returning is quite disappointing.) Either the character doesn't feature in Episode III (script) or perhaps Ms. Allen who portrayed the character is not available to take up the role again (or may have declined or not been contacted for it).
Well, one must hope still...
aayla secura is awesome! i loved her in episode 2, play as her and against her all the time in jedi outcast and i hope that she has a part in episode 3 as well. she is so hot!!!!!!!

Check out this great Aayla Secura fan artwork made by Quarren (from the Art of The Jedi (

Pretty smooth. I like the mix between cell shading and gradient shading. That's not easy to do.
wow, that is an awesome pic, check out all of its majesty!
Starwars.com posted a feature news article on Episode III casting (
http://www.starwars.com/episode-iii/bts/production/news20030626.html), with a fair update of actors/actresses returning or newly cast for characters to appear in Episode III.
Unfortunately no official word yet on the possible appearance of Aayla Secura (as portrayed by Amy Allen) in Epsiode III. :(
Regrettably I must inform that the Aayla Secura fansite at
http://www.temoto.co.uk/aayla) has been removed indefinately. :(
Awww, that's sad! ='(
Why has it been removed?
Well the Aayla fansite did not have its own domain name but was rather a part/subsection of an existing domain/website. The owner was faced with a rather exorbitant and unfair cost to keep that domain name for another year.
I agree with his decision to not keep it at the amount demanded of him.
But I'm sure Aayla will be back online someday. ;)
There is a great new blue Twi'lek main character for KOTOR called Mission Vao. She sounds like a Han Solo type character, with her Wookie friend Zaalbar. It will be interesting to see how her character develops throughout the game. =)

Here is some of Kampilans latest Aayla Secura themed fan artworks. (Currently hosted at
http://www.yodaminch.com.)
Some rather cool art, especially the colored 'Clone Wars' themed pieces are terrific. A lot of detail is visible in the underlying pencils and a very good coloring job was done. Especially Aayla Secura and the ARC Trooper were very well rendered.

Hmm, this thread is far too long to read, I'm just gonna throw in my two cents from the discussion on the first page:
Natalie Portman > All other females.
Tufkad, taste is personal so. :) (Besides the point of this thread isn't really to gawk at the actress who portrays Aayla Secure, nor to focus on the physical beauty of any -Star Wars- actress and such. :p )
Starwars.com had this picture of Amy Allen's attendance at the San Diego Comic-Con (Who on Saturday was signing and posing for pictures at the Master Replicas booth.) in their SDCC report:
http://www.starwars.com/community/news/2003/07/comiccon/img/43.jpg)
wow i didnt know that she worked at ILM and got the part for aayla secura mostly by luck

That's where you're wrong. Every thread, every messageboard, every forum, every email, every chat room, every online discussion in any form should be about how beautiful Natalie Portman is. :amidala:
wow natalie portman she is hot
(and so is amy allen) ;)
If you want to talk about Natalie Portman, start a new thread about her. This thread is for talk about Aayla Secura only, so quit spamming it. I will delete any further irrelevent posts and reduce your post counts. Consider this your first and last warning.
Thanks leXX for your excellent work and interventions as a mod, we appreciate it! :) (And the work of the other mods too of course.)
Check out this cool auction on eBay from 'Dustincropsboy' for an "Aayla Secura, Zam Wessel & Aurra Sing" babydoll t-shirt (

Quite a cute shirt (only fit for smaller sized females however).

Here are Michonne Bourriague and Amy Allen wearing the shirt at Gen Con Indy:

Aayla Secura is featured in the latest Star Wars 'Clone Wars' fan artwork by Dennis Budd. (Dennis Budd's fan artworks can be viewed at TheForce.Net Fan Art Museam.)

A great fan artwork of Aayla! :)
i heard there was a rumor of Ayala playing for the same team ;)
Rebelscum.com (

Will the legacy of blue Twi'lek Jedi Aayla Secura be carried on after the fall of the Republic and the demise of the Empire?
Judging from the latest screenshot of the upcoming Lucasarts game "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" (
http://www.lucasarts.com/products/jediacademy/), one would surely think so:
http://www.lucasarts.com/products/jediacademy/images/screens/44.jpg)
Dark Horse "Star Wars: Jedi - Aayla Secura" (
http://www.darkhorse.com/products/pg_profile/z_starwars/sku_12376/sec_products/sub_pubdate/index.html) with art by Jan Duursema and story by John Ostrander is scheduled for release tomorrow, August 20.
A 48 pages one shot issue centering around blue Twi'lek Jedi Aayla Secura, this is the issue synopsis as on the Dark Horse Website:
"Beautiful twi'lek Jedi Aayla Secura goes undercover to ferret out a Separatist enclave. But when her cover is blown, Aayla finds herself going up against famed bounty hunter (and infamous Jedi killer) Aurra Sing!"
This is the awesome cover art created by Jan Duursema:

That Dennis Budd fanart is amazing!
My copy of Jedi Aayla Secura is on it's way. I can't wait to read it. Aayla vs Aurra - I wonder who will win? ;)
Keep it coming Smith.
Just read it and it's brilliant. I won't spoil it for you, in case you haven't read it yet, but I'll just say it has a great storyline (kickass fight), and the artwork is amazing. They have done our Aayla proud. :D
Very interesting to read the back story of Aurra Sing too. She is a great character.
What are you talking about!?!?!?!?
Care to elaborate on that question? ¬¬
Haven't been here in a while. ;)
So do you think Aayla will be in the Cartoon network SW cartoon?
I hope so. She has featured highly in the Clone Wars comics, so I shouldn't see why not. Fingers crossed. ;)
Welcome back btw. :)

I agree, "Jedi: Aayla Secura" is an amazing issue, the art was absolutely breathtaking and the story held such intriguing and compelling character depth and development (not only for Aayla but the supporting characters too). :D
The central Clone Wars story of the issue is good but it's the intelligent dialogue and intricate character depth/developement that combined with Jan Duursema's breathtaking artwork really takes this issue to the next level. :)
Aurra Sing did look frightening, well rendered how her hate and anger showed. Luckily Aayla's elegant beauty offered serenity in contrast. :) (Great how the paradoxal contrast between Aayla and Aurra despite such similar pasts was brought forth.)
What struck me too was the subtle differences and transition in both Aayla's and Quinlan's appearances/facial features throughout the different flashbacks compared to who they are at the current time. (Quinlan looks more worn, brooding through the years, his stubble and hair change. Aayla's face becoming more defined, more feminin. Great detailing that speaks of Jan Duursema's incomparable skills.) :)
A must have!
Smith, thanks for the heads up on the Dallas Comic Con! I've got my ticket ordered and a room booked. Its about stinking time I got a convention within driving distance.
I'll get to meet Amy Allen (really the only reason I'd need to go), Michonne Bourriague (My favorite character from EP1), Rena Owen, Anthony Daniels, and get this Darth Vader Dave Prowse! There are some other big names too, but they're not really on my list of favorits. And a lot of comic artists, but I only buy SW comics anymore.
What do you suppose I should take for signing? I've got just about every photo avalable from Amy's webstore. I was thinking of taking the new Jedi comic, and my old Dark Horse comics. I've already got an action figure. Would be nice if Jan was there to sign the comics too...maybe some other time.

Great that you will attend the Dallas Comic-Con and get to finally meet Amy Allen Random! No doubt it'll be a great experience! :)
If you want you can always take some of your fanart with you, Ms. Allen generally appreciates fans who show/submit fanart - she even has some in her "Aayla" scrapbook which she takes with her to conventions. (I suggest you sift through it, she generally has it with her to show to fans. Has some great stuff in it!) :) I hope you have a great time at the con and an excellent and memorable experience in meeting Amy!
You can always purchase promo photo's from Amy there and have them autographed and personalized.
The "Jedi - Aayla" comic is a great idea to get signed, the other Aayla comics too. I have two Aayla figures autographed, that's always a great item to have signed. Take with you what you wish to get signed and perhaps a few extra items just in case, just make sure you pack it safely! ;) Enjoy the con!
On eBay watch for Aayla Secura related items, I ran into this quite amazing auction for an Aayla Secura Twi'lek costume replica (
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2956427585&category=19255=)!)
Quite complete as well, the auction is for the entire costume, with fully -acurately- colored headteails, pants, top, vest and even the necessary airbrush set and blue body makeup paint!

Great costume, excellent creation.
Yah, I saw that, but honestly...I don't think I could pull off wearing it. lol!
Unless the photos have been flipped, I think she put the arm on the wrong side. But other than that it looks great.
I saw she was asking $70 at first, I'm glad she got more than that for all the work that went into making it.

Well spotted. Didn't even notice.

Yeah, I'm glad she got a good price too. I'm amazed at the dedication of some fans.
The only thing that puzzles me is why did she sell it? I would have thought that those cosplay type people put so much work and love into their creations that you'd have to set their house on fire to get them to part with it.
Maybe she made a better one? But I'd still think that she'd keep them all.
