TheForce.net again posted a special feature on Aayla Secura fan artworks recently added to their Fan Art Museum. You can view it here (
http://www.theforce.net/episode2/index.shtml#20854).
Great that so many fans submit their Aayla fan artworks and that TheForce.net has such attention to the character.
As you can see it also contains work by Random (
http://theforce.net/museum/images/Prequels/Episode_2/rd-aaylasecura04.jpg)!) :) Especially the variety in styles and type is astounding and refreshing. :)
Here's an Aayla fanart by Amber Hague:

This one was made by Tibi Tibi:

(Thanks to Wil for the heads up on this.)
Dang Smith, I wanna kick your butt for getting to go to so many shows. They never bring that stuff near Texas. We only get silly Star Trek shows around here.
The card I mentioned was the Sith Rising card. But thanks for the heads up on the new store item. Gotta get that too. I finaly got some decent frames for the other 8*10's I have, and they're up on the wall now.
I'd need to buy a decent printer before I try printing out any art. I've got an OLD HP 660c printer, but maybe some good paper could make up the difference.
Oh and the other artists are doing some great work. I was able to see those when they were first posted. Some real fantastic work.
Check out the new E3 Trailer on the Academy webiste:
http://www.lucasarts.com/products/jediacademy/)
In it you can cearly see a near copy of Aayla. Blue skin'd twi`lek with a brown outfit. Choose whatever lightsaber style you want, but it looks a lot like her.
And JK:JA looks to be shaping up to be a great game. The saber fights look fantastic. Can't wait to have a duel with some of you guys.

I am gratefull I've had the opportunity to meet Amy at several cons now, I wanted to go to Celebration II but not being allowed to by work back then. (And only later learning that one had to live because your employer usually doesn't care anyways.)
I was lucky enough Amy attended a convention in Paris, France in 2002 and now in the UK last weekend, both were close enough for me to make it affordable trips. It is truly a wonderful experience to get to meet such people, especially kind and talented persons like Amy. I can only recommend to at least try and attend a con once, it's usually a terrific and memorable experience! :)
(Btw, Amy did attend the Texas Sci-Fi expo con in 2002.)
Good luck with sending Amy that Sith Rising TGC card to sign, it's how I got mine signed by her, she personalized and sent it back within weeks. :) (She also had some with her at the convention last weekend.)
Latest Aayla Secura related activity on eBay, as before still a significant number of Hasbro Aayla Secura 3 3/4" action figures up for auction.
Also an interesting auction for a custom made 12" Aayla Secura figure (
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3130950808&category=2476). Fairly nice figure, the outfit is well done however the coloring scheme seems a bit off. (Lends too much towards green instead of blue.)
Cool item though:

There are also a lot of auctions for Aayla Secura promo photo's recently autographed by Amy Allen (
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3326825977&category=58).
(Is it not a bit sad people purchase such autographs and later on sell them? I for one would never part with my Aayla Secura items, certainly not the ones signed by Amy. Which is why I always try to have them personalized.)
For those interested in autographed items from Amy Allen, please visit Amy's official online store (
http://www.worldfamouscomics.com/amyallen/store/). (Authenticity guaranteed!)
Here's a cool picture of an Aayla Secura fan in a full Aayla costume and even with blue make-up and lightsaber. :)
http://www.backstage.com/backstage/photos/2003/05/58conventions.gif)
I saw this as header picture to an interesting "Con Jobs" article at Backstage.com on actors/actresses appearing at conventions (
http://www.backstage.com/backstage/features/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1890169). It highlights how for different people it's an amazing experience as one with both pros and cons.
Nice introspective into the reality of cons. Ms Amy Allen -who portrayed Aayla Secura in Episode II- has said to be very gratefull for the fans' enthusiasm and getting to attend conventions, it being an overwhelming experience. (However attending cons still is a intense and tiring experience as she wishes to give a kind smile and attention to each fan.)
Aayla is quite sexy....
They should bring more Women in starwars, who have important roles like Adi Gallia! And they should have some longer appearances...not wuuuuuush 1 sec in the screen.
Dustin of Rebelscum.com (
http://www.rebelscum.com) has posted an online report on their website of their visit to the Detroit Motor City Comic Con held last weekend. Seems that they too enjoyed the show a lot, you can read their full report here (
http://www.rebelscum.com/article.asp?i=12240).
Here's a photo posted with the article of one of the rebelscum.com crew with Amy Allen (who portrayed Aayla Secura in Episode II):

My goodness! Wonderfull:p
TheForce.net posted this e-mail in their Episode III - Latest News section (
http://www.theforce.net/episode3/index.shtml#20993) relevant to the casting of extras for Episode III.
I quote:
"Dear Star Wars Fan,
Thank you for your interest in Star Wars. If you are serious about becoming a Star Wars Extra we suggest you join a Sydney based Extras agency. A list of registered agents can be obtained at [
http://www.alliance.org.au/hot/images/nswagt.pdf]).
No preference will be shown to any particular agency, so you must make a decision on who to join based on your own research. If you do not wish to join an agency please send your photo and full measurements along with a description of yourself and all contact details by mail to Marianne Jade, Star Wars, c/- Maura Fay Casting, PO Box 986, Glebe 2037. Please note, only those people with particularly unusual characteristics will be sourced independently. Please note only Australian residents are eligible to apply due to Australian equity laws. At this stage, we do not know the extras requirements so cannot guarantee you will be chosen.
Good Luck and May the Force be with you. Once again, thanks for your interest in Star Wars."
Could this bear any -negative- significance for Amy Allen's return to portray Aayla Secura in Episode III?
Let us hope it will have no such negative effect and that if Aayla Secura's character -who can be considered more than an extra- appears in Episode III, that Ms. Allen is again cast to portray her as she did so well in Episode II. :)
TheForce.Net and Rebelscum.com report on C2 Ventures latest actions, namely limited edition 11 x 14 "Theater Wide" Star Wars photos exclusive for the 10 Star Wars characters/celebreties who will attend Wizard World East (May 30-June 1) (
http://www.seetwo.com/wwphiladelphia/index.htm). (Limited to 500 prints per image worldwide!)
These limited edition 11x14 "Theater Wide" promo photos are meant to kick off the summer C2 Ventures special photos and appearances.
The limited 11x14 "Theater Wide" promo photo of Aayla Secura (Amy Allen) looks splendid:
http://www.seetwo.com/wwphiladelphia/images/allen-1.jpg)
Next to the limited 11x14 "Theater Wide" promo photo C2 Ventures will also have a brand new 8x10 promo photo of Aayla Secura (Amy Allen):
http://www.seetwo.com/wwphiladelphia2/images/allen-ref.jpg)
* * *
Darn, don't I wish I could attend. :( Really want those new promos! ( <- Crazed collector. :p ) Well, I can pray. :p
Hopefully Amy will have that new photo on her website. Can always count on Agent Smith to keep an eye out for us. Thanks guy.
Indeed, isn't he brilliant!
AgentSmith - You changed your avatar!!! :p
Actually there's a slight possibility that Ms. Allen may have some of those C2 Ventures promo photos left after the convention.
I was informed Ms. Allen thinks there's a chance she may have some left after the Wizard World Philadelphia con and if indeed she does, they will most likely be put up on her online store (
http://www.worldfamouscomics.com/amyallen/store/) at her official website (
http://www.worldfamouscomics.com/amyallen/).
I doubt there'll be any of the exclusive "Theater Wide" 11x14 promo's left, Wizard World Philadelphia is a very large venue so I expect the 500 hand-numbered copies will be gone over the weekend of the con.
(Since their limited number one can expect a lot of collectors, re-sellers and scalpers to buy up a lot of these limited "Theater Wide" promo' sof the Star Wars celebreties there.)
However the other promo C2 Ventures launched, the 'standard' 8x10 promo photo of Aayla Secura I believe and hope will be available in large quantities and later on for future cons and Ms. Allens online store as well. :)
So make sure to keep an eye out! :) I know I will. ;)
leXX, well with "The Matrix: Reloaded" now out -and it being the best film of 2003 beyond any doubt ... until "Revolutions" will be out that is ;) - I had to show Smith was back (and back, and back and back, and back ... :p ).
I usually check ebay at least once a day for aayla stuff, so I'll let y'all know if anything comes up.
This weekend the official Star Wars site starwars.com (
http://www.starwars.com) has launched the latest news feature "Jump To Hyperspace" (
http://www.starwars.com/site/news/2003/05/news20030530.html) on what will become Starwars.com Hyperspace (
http://www.starwars.com/site/news/2003/05/news20030530.html), an extensive subscription service (at a cost of $19.95 a year) that presents exclusive content, new features and a wealth of personalization options that will be available only to subscribers.
Starwars.com will offer a sneak peak from June 5 to June 9, after that the subscription fee will need to be paid for Starwars.com Hyperspace.
Now what might be especially interesting of all this to us Aayla fans is one of the benefits that was announced for Starwars.com Hyperspace subscribers:
"The often-requested, never-before-seen Episode II deleted sequence "Jedi Assault on the Droid Control Ship" in its original rough-cut form."
This could mean we may yet see Aayla Secura appear in this scene, if the rough-cut off course includes her character digitally inserted. :)
(Although it is not certain yet Aayla will be included in that rough-cut. In the few seconds they show of this scene in the Starwars.com hyperspace trailer Aayla was not visible. :( )
I already posted a thread (
http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=100781) about Jump to Hyperspace in the Cantina. You should check the whole forum more often. :p ;)
I agree though, it would be great to see Aayla in that attack on the droid control ship.
leXX, you're right, I should. :p But I posted the Starwars.com hyperspace info in short here just because of the possibility it may be interesting for Aayla Secura fans since the "Jedi Assault on the Droid Control Ship" in its original rough-cut form will be one of the benefits and Aayla was rumored to be in this scene.
However all of Aayla Secura's scenes (as portrayed by Amy Allen) were shot during 2 days of green screen shooting in post-production and she was digitally inserted in the main scenes. After seeing some of the imagery of the Starwars.com Hyperspace "Jedi Assault on the Droid Control Ship" rough-cut, I fear that Aayla will not be in it and has not been digitally added to it yet. :(
http://members.aol.com/triforcesaga/Raid1.jpg)
http://members.aol.com/triforcesaga/Raid2.jpg)
http://members.aol.com/triforcesaga/Raid3.jpg)
http://members.aol.com/triforcesaga/Raid5.jpg)
Since that is all raw bluescreen footage and Aayla is nowhere to be seen it's safe to assume the cut of the scene shown will not portray her. :(
(Images thanks to The2ndQuest from theforce.net.)
Dark Horse "Star Wars: Republic #54 - Double Blind" (Story by John Ostrander and art by Jan Duursema) is due to be released tomorrow June 4th.
http://209.95.35.130/covers/12/12200.jpg)
Here is the synopsis from Dark Horse:
"While the rest of the Jedi have become generals and are leading armies in the Clone Wars, Quinlan Vos has remained in the shadows. Sent undercover by the Jedi Council to spy on the Separatists, the Council now fears that Quin has gone too deep. Is he still an agent for the Republic, or has he turned traitor? When Quin disobeys an order to return to Coruscant, another Jedi is sent to bring him back--or end his treachery!"
While this issue will feature Aayla's former Master, Quinlan Vos, it is not sure that Aayla will appear. (Or that she is the Jedi sent after Quinlan. It is rumored the other Jedi to appear will be male Zabrack Jedi Agen Kolar from Episode II and "Star Wars: Jedi - Shaak Ti".)
Aayla Secura related eBay auction activity is quite high, next to several eBay auctions for Aayla Secura promo photos autographed by Amy Allen (who portrayed Aayla Secura in Episode II) there are also from 10 to 20 individual eBay auctions for Hasbro 3 3/4" Aayla Secura action figures!
Interesting -and hardly surprising in a way- is the eBay auction for a Hasbro 3 3/4" Aayla Secura action figure mint on card autographed by Ms. Amy Allen (
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3133655551&category=2476) at last weekend's Wizard World Philadelphia convention.
While it looks very nice, the starting bid price of US $59,95 is very high.
(At a figure cost of on average $10 or less and an autograph cost of maximum $20 -other cons usually $10-, it's an extremely steep price where the seller already takes a >30$ profit from the start!)
http://ebay3.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_92b0ca809ab0f742107e50b4b81feba2/i-1.JPG)
(Besides getting such an autographed Aayla figure in person is a much more rewarding experience and authenticity is guaranteed. - I myself have two autographed & personalized by Ms. Allen. :D :p )
I saw that one too, $60 is way out of line. That's one of those bastard comic-store owners thats in it for the money instead of the love of comics and toys. He'll get what he deserves when the time comes :p
I've been watching the auctions for a while now. I'm looking for one of the topps widevision Aayla signature cards, but they're rare now and going for over $35. Mostly you'll find the figures either singular or in groups with the other 2 short-packed figures. And a small but steady supply of autographed 8x10s.
Y'all let me know if you run across one of the Topps cards!
Random, indeed. For that amount you can easily get your own Hasbro Aayla Secura 3 3/4" action figure, send it to Ms. Allen with the signing fee and self-addressed and stamped return package and have it autographed by her and sent back to you.
(Might take a while but it'd still be cheaper and guaranteed to be genuine.)
TheForce.net reports on new information obtained from (the 5-day free trial) Starwars.com Hyperspace regarding official confirmation of certain characters returning or not returning in Episode III (
http://www.theforce.net/episode3/index.shtml#21099).
I quote:
"Returning: Padmй, Chewbacca, Dooku, Nute Gunray, Rune Haako, Obi-Wan, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Sly Moore, Barriss Offee. Also look for Bail Organa, Palpatine, Anakin, Shaak Ti, Luminara Undulli, Mace, Orn Free Taa and Yoda.
Not returning: Yaddle, Depa Billaba, Oppo Rancisis, Even Piell, and Yarael Poof."
So unfortunately there is no official confirmation yet that Aayla Secura will indeed return in Episode III. However at the same time there's no conformation either that she will not be returning in Episode III.
(Also if Jedi like Shaak Ti and Luminara Undulli are returning then it does give hope for Aayla appearing in Episode III. - Since they had similar parts in size as Aayla and Aayla has even more fan following and a greater popularity.) :)
Aayla Secura related eBay auction activity is still rather high, next to many eBay auctions for Aayla Secura promo photos autographed by Amy Allen (who portrayed Aayla Secura in Episode II) there are still nearly over 20 eBay auctions for Hasbro 3 3/4" Aayla Secura action figures!
Interesting to note are 3 eBay auctions for Dark Horse "Star Wars Ongoing" issues, autographed by Ms. Allen at the Pittsburgh Comiccon.
An auction for a Dark Horse "Star Wars #19 - Twilight #1" issue autographed by Ms. Allen (
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3331106982&category=59).
http://homepage.floodcity.net/users/pcomicon/ebay/094.jpg)
An auction for a Dark Horse "Star Wars #33 - Darkness #2" issue autographed by Ms. Allen (
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3331107530&category=59).
http://homepage.floodcity.net/users/pcomicon/ebay/096.jpg)
An auction for a Dark Horse "Star Wars #44 - Rite of Passage #3" issue autographed by Ms. Allen (
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3331107254&category=59).
http://homepage.floodcity.net/users/pcomicon/ebay/095.jpg)
(I have a "Star Wars #44 - Rite of Passage #3" copy autographed & personalized by both Amy Allen and Jan Duursema. Hehe. :p I am grateful both of them were so kind to sign it. :) )
Yarael Poof is dead! He was killed between Ep 1 and 2, seems silly to list him in the "not going to be in Ep3".
But if Shaak Ti, Offee, and Undulli are listed as "In" then I'm confident that Aayla will make it. Plo Koon isn't listed either, humm...

Yea i knew yarael poof was dead but i didn'tk now that Plo koon was not on the listed thingy either! that sucks, hes one of my favorite jedi.
Well I am quite sure this is not a definate list of all 'known' characters returning to episode III. I think it's a list made from the official bits on info and photographs seen at the Starwars.com Hyperspace trial.
Since Plo Koon and Aayla Secura were the two characters that scored the highest on starwars.com poll "Which Jedi character would you like to see returning in Episode III", I don't think they will both be omitted from Episode III.
I wonder if for Shaak Ti, Barriss Offee and Luminara Undulli -who are returning- the same actresses will be cast again? Mostly I am concerned if Aayla Secura does appear in episode III that Ms. Amy Allen is allowed to portray her.
(Seeing how for characters like Plo Koon, Saesee Tinn, a different actor was chosen in Episode II compared to Episode I.)
Especially Barriss and Luminara are fairly recognizable (less effects make-up), but Aayla even more. Another actress to portray Aayla Secura would be very regrettable as no doubt the visual difference would be too obvious and detract from great performance and visual aspect Amy Allen lends to Aayla's character.
Well I'll keep my fingers crossed. :D
I'm confident she will return in Ep3. That poll was there for a reason, to find out which minor characters are the most popular, and with Aayla coming second, I don't think they will ignore her popularity and definately put her in Ep3.
I hope to see Aayla, Shaak, Luminara and Barriss join forces in a battle of some sort. I just think that would extremely cool to see.
Further Episode III speculation and characters confirmed to return, now Agen Kolar and Bultar Swan have been confirmed to appear again in Episode III. A bit disconcerting maybe that all those 'cameo' Jedi have been confirmed for Episode III already but Aayla Secura sadly has not yet been confirmed to even appear in Episode III. :(
This is also from Starwars.com Hyperspace:
"For any Episode III returning extras with visible features, George Lucas mandated that if the previous performer was not available, that the character simply would not be back. This was in an effort to preserve continuity and avoid creating doppelganger-Jedi like Stass Allie or Agen Kolar."
Bultar Swan, Agen Kolar, Shaak Ti, Luminara Undilli, Barriss Offee, will all return because the original actor/actresses who played the chatacters in Episode II will be available for Episode III.
Aayla Secura may return in Episode III if Amy Allen is available to portray her again, so if Ms. Allen would not be available then by default Aayla may not return. (Unless entirely CGI or Episode II footage should be used.) So the risk of having another actress portray our favorite character (leading to similar discrepancies such as Eeth Koth vs Agen Kolar) is as good as eliminated. :)
Let us hope then that Ms. Allen is requested and available to reprise her role as Aayla Secura in Episode III. :D
Seeing as how she's still doing conventions I can only assume that she would *want* to participate in EP3.
There's always that way to look at it. We'll just have to wait a bit longer and see.
Thought I'd post an update on convention appearances.
Amy Allen's current convention schedule (List is tentative and subject to change.):
- July 24-27, Gen Con Indy (
http://www.gencon.com/display.aspx?file=indy)
- October 3-5, Pop-Culture Con Cincinatti (
http://www.popculturecon.com/)
- October 11-12, Hamburg Star Wars Fandays (
http://www.sw-con.de)
Jan Duursema's (Comic artist who co-created Aayla Secura) current convention schedule (List is tentative and subject to change.):
- August 8-10, Wizard World Chicago (
http://www.wizarduniverse.com/conventions/chicago.cfm)
- October 3-5, Pop-Culture Con Cincinatti (
http://www.popculturecon.com/)
- November 29-30, Mid-Ohio Con (
http://www.midohiocon.com/)
Anyone going to be able to attend these events? Again, they're all too far away. If you're going, I'd be interested obtaining some swag :D
I'll be going to the Mid-Ohio Con for sure, though Ms. Allen will most likely not appear there this year. (Jan Duursema however is slated to appear.)
Since apparently Ms. Allen will attend that Hamburg SW Fandays con I might try and go with a bunch of friends from the Belgian SW fanclub. (Germany being a neighbouring country and all.) The Cincinatti Pop-Culture con sounds appealing but it might not fit the budget. But if I do go I'll let you know up front for sure.
Btw, is it just me and am I doing some wishfull thinking here but does it strike anyone else the gap is Ms. Allen's convention appearance schedule? (Between Gencon and Cincinatti.) While this could be a coincidence, a lack of appearances or cons during the summer, ... who knows Ms. Allen might be keeping those months during the summer -when Episode III starts shooting- free for a more specific Episode III related reason? One can hope! :D :)
C2 Ventures reports on their official website (
http://www.seetwo.com/) that Autographed photos from Wizard World Philadelphia Convention (
http://www.seetwo.com/wwphiladelphia/index.htm) will soon become available for US $20 -the standard show price- at the TheForce.Net (
http://www.theforce.net) Store. :)
This may include some of the 500 "Theater Wide" Aayla Secura/Amy Allen autographed photos:
http://www.seetwo.com/wwphiladelphia/images/allen-1.jpg)
Or perhaps this promo photo (
http://www.seetwo.com/wwphiladelphia2/images/allen-ref.jpg).
(I'll try and post direct link and update as soon as this TheForce.Net Store comes online.)
The Jawa (
http://www.thejawa.com) website has posted an online report of their visit to the Wizard World Philadelphia Con (
http://www.thejawa.com/wwe03/wwe03.html) held last May 30 - June 1, with photos from several of the Star Wars celebreties and guests that attended the convention.
Here is their photo of Amy Allen at the con:
http://www.thejawa.com/wwe03/Im000247.jpg)
The Jawa also posted their interviews with several of the the Star Wars celebreties (
http://www.thejawa.com/wwe03/wweinterviews.html) that attended, including Amy Allen.
Here's an excerpt:
"The Jawa: Are you still surprised by the reception you get at shows like these?
Amy Allen: Absolutely, it just keeps getting better.
The Jawa: Now that your action figure (Aayla Secura) has come out, what's it like to have your likeness immortalized in plastic?
Amy Allen: It's very surreal. It's incredible. It's the weirdest and the coolest thing that's ever happened to me."
Also interesting is their photo of Jan Duursema (
http://www.thejawa.com/wwe03/Im000269.jpg) (Star Wars artist that co-created Aayla Secura) at the con.
BamM! Look what I just nailed:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2178852738&category=29496)
The first one I've seen made avalable anywhere except to attendies. Good price, and it should fit in just great next to the others on my wall.
Oh, and thanks for the links to the interviews Smith.
Great that you were able to get the new C2 Ventures Aayla Secura promo phot autographed by Amy Allen from eBay Random! :D Happy for you man!
(I hope to get one myself personally from Ms. Allen either from a future convention or through her online store, that way I can have it personalized. :) - Since this eBay reseller doesn't ship to Europe anyways... Oh well.)
C2 Ventures will bring several Star Wars celebreties at Gen Con Indy (
http://www.gencon.com/display.aspx?file=indy) held July 24-27 2003 in Indianapolis, Indiana. As you can see in detail here on the C2V Star Wars guests at Gen Con (
http://www.gencon.com/display.aspx?file=indy-C2V) online page.
Most noticeable guest for this thread off course being Amy Allen who protrayed Aayla Secura:
http://www.gencon.com/images/Amy_Allen.gif)
(She is slated to attend next to Michonne Bourriague, Matt Sloan, Jeremy Bulloch, Ray Park, ...)
After viewing the Starwars.com Hyperspace exclusive rough-cut "Jedi Assault on the Droid Control Ship" scene I have to report that Aayla Secura's character is unfortunately not present in this rough-cut of the "Jedi Assault on the Droid Control Ship" scene. :(
(The reason why the "Jedi Assault on the Droid Control Ship" scene was cut can be read in the starwars.com feature "Resurrecting a Jedi Assault" (
http://www.starwars.com/episode-ii/feature/20030610/index.html).)
TheForce.Net now has their official TheForce.Net eStore (
http://estore.theforce.net/) online and offers a limited supply of the exclusive C2 Ventures hand numbered and autographed 11"x14" "Theater Wide" Star Wars Celebrity promo photos from Wizard World East, Philadelphia held on May 30-June 01, 2003.
You can view all 9 available "Theater Wide" Star Wars Celebrity promo photos from Wizard World East and also order them here at TheForce.Net eStore Wizard World East Autographs page (
http://estore.theforce.net/items.asp?ID=76).
One of the available autographed 11"x14" "Theater Wide" Star Wars Celebrity promo photos is the hand signed by Amy Allen/Aayla Secura from Episode II model:
http://estore.theforce.net/images/catalog/c2/allen-1.jpg)
(Currently the TF.N eStore can only ship to inside the USA, shipping to outside the USA is expected to be available shortly.)
Thanks for the heads up Smith. Got mine ordered just a minute ago.
I begin to feel for you fellas over there, you always get the shaft when it comes to ordering stuff. Half of ebay'ers won't ship to you, you don't get to participate in most contests, you get movie and video game releases weeks or months later.
If you're worried about the Theater Wide being sold out, and intersted I could order one for you and ship it over.
Random, great that you ordered a "Theater Wide" photo! I'm sure you'll like it since they are limited at 500 items worldwide! :D
Thanks for the kind offer but normally I'm covered since a good friend picked an autographed "Theater Wide" photo up on my behalf at Wizard World Philadelphia for which I am very grateful, she just needs to ship it still. :) :p
Btw Random, I believe these eBay auctions might interest you, one for an autographed Aayla Secura Topps Widevision card (
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3228429895&category=219) and one for a combo of the Hasbro Aayla Secura action figure and an autographed Aayla Secura Topps Widevision card (
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3135218926&category=2476) (though it seems for the second auction the Topps card will be included only if the price reaches $55?).
55 bucks, yowzaws! I didn't read the entire message and was hoping to get the card and fig for a rational price. What's with these ebay sharks? Do they think I'm insane? I might get into the fight for the card alone tho. Do you know if it is actually hand signed or auto-reproduced for the card?
I also saw that you can get the whole set of Theater Wides with the same ###/500 number which includes Vader and Boba Fett that arn't usually avalable for a whopping $230. Not for me, but still SW Super-Geek-worthy.
Good day for me, mostly. I was able to get two of those three Amy autographed comics. I would have gotten all 3 if my dad's computer didn't suck so much. It took about 10 minutes to log into ebay from his house, so I wasn't able to bump up my bid in time.
Oh well, can't have everything.
I forgot to ask, what did you guys think of Republic #54?
I'm glad they used Agen Kolar and not Aayla to try and bring Vos back to the temple. I don't think Aayla would have fitted that role. Aayla would not have believed that Vos had gone Rogue. She would have seen through the lie.
I have a feeling Vos is gonna turn to the dark side again.
54 was pretty good. Just wish I had read Jedi Shaak Ti first. I got them in the same box but didn't know which one came first.
Agreed, as much as I want more Aayla, she wouldn't have worked in that story.
Dooku has to be in EP3, he can't just dissapear between movies. Therefore, Vos isn't going to get anywhere near taking him out, as the Council hopes. Wich leaves room to explore his quest to try to get to him, and then what happens when he fails. I look forward to that. Vos is one of the more interesting jedi characters because he's not so 1-dimensional. He has flaws, and doesn't do things the way a proper jedi should.
For instance, when he confronted Tookarti the traitor. Vos didn't try to bring him to justice, he forced him into a situation where Took would fight back first and Vos could kill him in "defence". Now, you could argue that it was Vos staying in character to remain a spy, but still, that's not what a jedi should do.
But you have to admit he knows what he's doing. Even after Agen was able to strike him on the arm, he still knew he wasn't in any real danger and didn't surrender to prevent them from killing eachother. Or else he was just ignoring his orders to do so...
Interesting either way.
Random, cool you were able to get some of those autographed comic issues. :)
leXX, I loved "Republic #54 - Double Blind", amazing issue and grand artwork by Jan Duursema. :D
I agree with both your remarks on "Republic #54", the reason Aayla wasn't in it -and why the Council didn't send her after Quinlan- is because she'd have seen through the deception being his former apprentice. The question now is how will Aayla react to the news of Quinlan's 'treason' in "Jedi - Aayla Secura"? Mhhh... will be interesting to see!
Is it my imagination or does the artwork just get better and better! Jan Duursema truly is an amazing artist!
Yeah, I can't wait for 'Jedi - Aayla Secura'. Promises to be a great storyline.
I saw that as a little of the dark side coming out in Vos. That is part of the reason I said I have a feeling he will turn to the dark side again. He certainly isn't your run of the mill Jedi. He's a great character.
I wonder if we will see him in EP3? Personally, I would love to see him in it.
Check out this cool Episode II wallpaper (
http://theforce.net/museum/images/Prequels/Episode_2/Wallpaper/oth-clone_battle1024.jpg) up at TheForce.net Fan Art Museum - if you look carefully you can see Aayla Secura in the lower right corner (in front of the LAAT/i Gunship talking to a Clonetrooper).
I just got my Theater Wide autographed photo from the C2 Ventures promo set. Dang its cool. Its so big I'll have to go get a bigger frame to put it in. Its the same pose from the WotC card game promo shot, a little different from the Celebration 2 shot. I was able to get #58 of 500. Its probably only a few hours older than #500, but collectors are obcesd with the lower numbers. I'm very pleased with it. Hope yours gets too you soon Smith.
I finaly managed to score a Topps Widevision Autograph Card. Check that off the list. Now I need to start building the display case for my lightsaber so I can put the cards in with it.
I had a thought the other day, am I a little too obcesed with Aayla? I don't collect 'anything and everything' for any other character from SW. Humm...Oh well, everyone needs a hobby right?
