Doc Emperor's Hammer used to have a page where they posted how to get TIE95 to run (with hardware acceleration) in WinXP. It's been taken down, but my squad's XO, Leo, has reposted it on the Red & Blue CommNet (http://crs-morningstar.net/commnet...  [Read More]

Nice catch, Doc. I've alerted the Red & Blue CommNet, the gang on MECantina.com, and the X-Wing Legacy folks about this workaround. I've also asked them to try it w/ TIE95 and I'll get back to you about it. :D...  [Read More]

Doc Unfortunately, this is a problem common with trying to run X-Wing 95, TIE Fighter 95, and XvT under WinXP. The games are expecting a different version of Direct3D (even though the XP version is newer). I don't know of any fixes (if anyone else d...  [Read More]

Keyan Normally, they set the clock in Tour of Duty missions to a figure that they think most players can complete the mission in. However, I don't think you automatically hyper out if the clock runs out w/o completing the mission objectives. A good...  [Read More]

Keyan No, time limits only apply to the Historical Combat Simulations (the six missions for each type of craft, plus the CD Bonus missions). In the Tours of Duty, you could take as long as needed. If this weren't the case, one of the old Rogue Squad...  [Read More]

Sune Almost nothing runs on pure DOS these days, that's why the "original" X-Wing is hard to come by. However, if you have Windows XP (or even Win2K Pro w/ the latest service pack and DirectX), you can try running either the X-Wing Collect...  [Read More]
