There should be: It opens with a huge space battle, en media res - in the middle of action, that is. Whether you like Jedi or not, Lynk, you've got to admit that Jedi can use the Force to make themselves better pilots. Even without it, Luke would be...  [Read More]
Sad but true, Lynk. But only on these forums. And those points mean Luke is an excellent pilot, so... Well said, Astrotoy7!!! Long live the Jedi!!! Course, the only reason Anakin is the best is because he's the strongest Jedi in history. Without th...  [Read More]
Gotta disagree with you there, Lynk. The NJO kicks some serious butt. I don't like everything about it, but I enjoy most of it. I also disagree with those who say Luke is nothing without the Force. He is an excellent pilot even without the Force; th...  [Read More]
I agree... Kryn, you're a little wierd. Okay, so I see why you were drooling, but I've got to agree with Astrotoy here.... Where's the rest of the people who loved this thread? And all the Danni fans?...  [Read More]
:D I told you so.... :D I still say there should be an option in the poll. Though I do understand why you would think it's Wynnsa....  [Read More]

How do you get in touch with those guys? I'd like to know how they know its Wyn and not Danni. I repeat my earlier objections; twelve-to-fourteen-year-olds don't look like that! There's not a girl in my school that can match up to her; if that's how...  [Read More]

I was thinking about this a little bit the other day. One of the book reviews over at theforce.net books section was talking about how they felt that (these are both well-known by now) Anakin's death in Star by Star completely negated Chewbacca's sac...  [Read More]

I'm not a coder, but I can provide a little input on Force powers - I'm a huge geek, so I know quite a bit... Okay, as far as Jedi go, they can use lightning in justified situations - but it's different stuff: knocks you out or disorients you and st...  [Read More]
Interesting. That was the impression you got, especially with Keyes - and Ikrit's line, "Together, you could..." It must have been fairly early that they decided to kill off Anakin instead of Jacen, because the last few books before SBS are...  [Read More]
As a note... I have become aware that James Luceno's first two books didn't really talk much about Jacen or Anakin. Moreover, when they did, it was an objective POV, but my overall point remains true... Sorry for the oversight....  [Read More]
Okay, this is really heavy on spoilers; if you don't want a huge part of the New Jedi Order spoiled for you, don't read it. Mods, I'm intentionally not putting in spoiler tags; I'd have to spoiler tag most of this post and a whole lot of the other on...  [Read More]

I like your response, Phreak. I can't wait for Christmas! I can't wait for Christmas! I can't wait... Future books? Cool... Course, we knew they were coming; Denning's doing a post-NJO trilogy in '05, according to the publishing schedule over at th...  [Read More]

Sweet.... need book NOW! But must wait till Christmas... grr... It sounds excellent. Is the interview the same one as the one online from a couple weeks ago about TUF, or is it about the series in general? I actually don't have VP. I didn't like th...  [Read More]

I think the problem with Obi-Wan's was that it wasn't hermetically sealed, and so was shorted out by water getting into the circuitry of the saber itself. Just being in water isn't an issue; it's when the circuitry gets wet......  [Read More]

Pure energy + H2O = steam, hot water, ouch. In the YJK, they could use them underwater, simply because it was so fraggin cold anyway that the energy didn't matter that much. In a more temperate or smaller body of water, that energy would have a much...  [Read More]
I'm not as interested in the Clone Wars novels as in the NJO (which ended and I haven't even gotten to TFP yet... stupid waiting line at the library...) But Shatterpoint is literally the best book ever in my opinion. It even beats out Traitor because...  [Read More]
It depends on the prequel books. Some of them I liked, others just didn't feel quite right. However, Astrotoy7, you're going to have to read at least 1 prequel: Shatterpoint, by Matthew Stover....  [Read More]

I wasn't talking fan fiction. I was simply pointing out that there's a picture there with a silver glow on the blade. I also wasn't saying that fan stuff is canon; I was just trying to show the possiblity of that kind of glow....  [Read More]

Thrawn was brilliant, but I must agree with Kryn here. It just took being unpredictable - completely unpredictable to beat him. Even bel Iblis outsmarted him a couple of times, like with the A-wing slash maneuver. He was fallible. Minor spoiler for t...  [Read More]

Yeah, Zahn came up with some crazy ideas. He is a brilliant writer, but I can't see it as much in the original Thrawn trilogy as in The Hand of Thrawn or some of his short stories. He feels very different in the original trilogy of Thrawn books, and...  [Read More]
