My only suggestion right now is to change the angle of his eyebrows a bit. Bring the outsides of the eyebrows up a bit and the insides down. Right now he looks a bit sad, and while in some ways that would be in character for him, he seemed to have mo...  [Read More]

I wouldn't mind taking a crack at skinning him, if his hat is a removeable surface :) I won't be shooting for a Gandalf look, but instead, maybe an old Jedi, or perhaps Radagast the Brown....  [Read More]

Oops! I thought he was saying he wants to make Saruman next, that'll learn me to actually read things a little more closely :D Madjai, Gandalf is looking great :) I assume you'll be doing some alpha work on the beard?...  [Read More]

Well, thin-ness of the face can probably be simulated through skinning, as can tidyness of the hair/beard :)...  [Read More]

Cool! Gandalf rocks :) For Saruman, you might be able to acheive a model of him simply by making Gandalf's big hat removeable. They really are quite similar in shape. Old, long-bearded Jedi can be made in the same way :D...  [Read More]

Making some good progress :) The tabards that Jedi wear are seperate, two thick strips of cloth draped over each shoulder and going down usually below the bottom of the tunic(?) underneath. In this case, having it as one peice below the belt area is...  [Read More]

Looking good :) For the meshsmooth, I've also heard it's not a good idea, but I use it anyway. In some cases, without any iterations so it doesn't up the poly count any. For the skin, I wouldn't worry about making it look good right now, wait till...  [Read More]

Looks good! The end of the sleaves could use a little more definition so they don't blend with the forearms so much. And just so you know, his name isn't actually Snake Pliskin. He used that as an alias in MGS2. Snake Pliskin is actually a character...  [Read More]

We (including KMan) have been discussing things further, and the common consensus is that a lot of the problem is based on KMan being the only Moderator (Roger doesn't count, I've never seen him in the forum at all, I'm concerned that he might have p...  [Read More]

I have to agree about the emotion. I've read the Heir Trilogy numerous times (more than 10), and there is DEFINITELY a loss of control many times. At other times, he IS very cold and emotionless. I think the best thing would be to make most of his ta...  [Read More]

No no, the underlying voice sounds good, just tone down some of the modifications. There's a scratchiness to it, probably meant to give the impression of a growling/rumbling resonance, but should be toned down or removed :)...  [Read More]

Vigrid: My 2 cents, I don't think the split in the robes is really necessary. You might see it in some reference pics, but a robe wouldn't always be hanging open, and if you closed it up, I think it might look/work a bit better. I like how it's turni...  [Read More]

Looking good, Vigrid! I think the skin is going very well so far :) I agree that it should definitely be obvious that he's well-muscled, so I think you should keep it as it is, because when it gets in-game, it'll be a bit more blurry and washed out,...  [Read More]

I agree that having multiple hairstyles would really make this model great :D It shouldn't take a huge amount of extra time, and remember that surfaces that are turned off do not count toward the in-game polycount :)...  [Read More]
