I don't know about beasts. It could be fun, but it could also look weird. I understand some beasts are really strong, but to send them against a relatively modern army sounds more like cannon fodder then anything else. True, very true. However, ther...  [Read More]

Any card you get right now won't be the greatest since even the nvidia 7900 and ATi X1900 cards do not support DX10. DX10 is also an overhyped MicroShaft creation, which will in no way pull of what it claims. A good card for the price is the X1600X...  [Read More]

B-wings were bombers and TIE Defenders filled a space superiority role; it would make sense for the B-Wing to have a higher warhead complement. I thought that was what I remembered from XWA, but I haven't touched that in a while...and I'm a bit biase...  [Read More]

According to X-Wing Alliance, the B-Wing can carry up to 16 concussion missiles or 12 proton torpedoes. I think that's actually equal to what the Defender can carry. Based on the X-Wing series, which I always liked to a certain extent but always tho...  [Read More]

Actually, the idea of it having more firepower then a B-Wing is relative. The Defender had less ion cannons (2) for two more lasers (4) making it a much deadlier anti-fighter craft. However, it did not have the same warhead carrying capabilities then...  [Read More]

According to Star Wars "history", didn't the Empire only have a few dozen Defenders scattered throughout the whole galaxy? If they mass-produced them, the Galactic Civil War could have turned out far differently... I'll be sure to keep that...  [Read More]

I've played all the old TIE fighter games - I remember how much of a nasty ship the Defender was. While we have to keep RTS game balance in mind, I want to make sure that the Defender lives up to it's history :) *breathes a sigh of relief* So glad t...  [Read More]

I am both delighed and a bit worried to hear that the TIE Defender will be making it into the game. My question to the Devs, however, is based on past experience. Both X-Wing Alliance and (obviously) Galactic Battlegrounds made the mistake of making...  [Read More]

Uh...you're saying that tactical depth was increased at the expense of strategic depth? Since "strategy" refers to overarching goals and plans (i.e., the Galactic Map), and this is a discussion about land battles, "tactics" are th...  [Read More]

Fourth Point; I don't really see why people hate the storylines of the Prequels. Albeit, Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman cannot act these parts very well, the Storyline is exceptional. I will not be dragged into the same argument that has alr...  [Read More]

Landing zones and the resulting pop cap is an excellent way of adding tactical depth to the land battles. At the sacrafice of strategy. But anyway, you missed the point. In a Galactic Conquest mode, yes the idea of a beachhead makes sense, get the t...  [Read More]

"All is fair in love and war", as the saying goes. And the concept of landing zones is an excellent one, and entirely realistic. Beaches of Normandy, anyone? We're not talking about WW2 where people are limited to ground, sea, or even air-...  [Read More]

 For once I agree. It would definitely help to be able to skip that logo. Though it's not that long and call me impatient if you wish, I find it stupid not to be able to skip it. Maybe only "force" it the first time, but after, you sho...  [Read More]

I sincerely hope the devs are reading this! In addition to side vs side (empire fighting empire etc.) it would be in the best interests of everybody if there was some way, a shortcut modifier or whatever, to skip past all the logos. Honestly, Petro,...  [Read More]

You're right. The name Coruscant was Zahn's creation. The city-planet, not so sure though. Actually, the description of Coruscant in Zahn's Thrawn trilogy does not match the one we see in the prequels. Originally, in Return of the Jedi, a capital pl...  [Read More]

Well, back to what needs fixing. The first one is to make every unit invulnerable untill it actually can be used. The skirmish and Galactic Conquest modes can use some fixing as well. I am currently unable to play Empire vs Empire games. So that ne...  [Read More]

I hope it's sarcasm. I seriously do. Not in the least. The prequal trilogy did nothing but destroy longly-held EU ideas left and right. And for what? Cheap thrills, "kiddy" movies, and more style-over-substance crap than any other recent m...  [Read More]

Starcraft, C&C, Warcraft and similar RTS belong to the spamfest, arcadish, "old-school" RTS. That depends on which WarCraft you are referring to. WC3 doesn't deserve any title of RTS period, so shouldn't even be mentioned in that group...  [Read More]

I usually don't whine, but giving the Eclipse to these pirates is just ridiculous. How could they fnd a 500 000 + crew to make it operational? WHERE would they build it, as it requires huge shipyards only the Empire have Wouldnt it be better if Tybe...  [Read More]
This is exactly the case. None of the units in any demo you see are balanced, and most have been exaggerated to show off their functionality, or to speed up a demo. Balance happens once everything is actually in and functional. I was hoping that was...  [Read More]
Yoda appears a bit too powerful. Don't be going all WC3 crap style on us, Petro. That game didn't deserve the title of "RTS" but deserved to be called a new form of Hero Worship. Heroes are ordinary people who do extraordinary things, not p...  [Read More]

That might be true, but the mediums you mentioned above (Novel, Comic, RPG, etc.) are appropriate to develop characters and races, and a storyline. An RTS simply isn't. Now if this were a RPG, then things would be different because the characters wou...  [Read More]
I'm saddened that so few are keeping any interest on Supreme Commander. It will finally be a true real time STRATEGY game, not the tactical stuff that WC3 made popular. Medieval 2 I am looking forward to, but that is not an RTS, it is a Turn Based S...  [Read More]
