alodude, make sure you update KOTOR II to the latest version by running the updater. I have found that running the latest Catalyst 5.4 drivers and playing the patched version of the game allows me to play on Dantooine without the 'Disable Vertex Buf...  [Read More]

Unfortunately, I have not found a solution to this problem yet. It doesn't plague me often though. I do not have my wireless network hooked up this year, so it hasn't influenced the times I did have an issue. I still believe that the issue lies in E...  [Read More]

This actually seems to be a Soundblaster problem, not a KOTOR one. I get this issue in other games as well. Sometimes EAX doesn't release the sound card and effects including reverb that sounded really nice in the game continue to be applied. Sounds...  [Read More]

Glad to see you are having a better game experience, Revan23. :D The patched game seems to be running better for me as well, although Catalyst 5.4 could have helped too....  [Read More]

Revan23: Some people cannot get the game to work despite having an apparently good hardware setup. It looks like you have the latest video drivers. Please also make sure you have the latest sound and motherboard drivers. If possible try to clean out...  [Read More]

Try adding the line Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1 to the swkotor2.ini file under the [Graphics Options] section. It doesn'r help everyone, but most people notice an improvement in areas with massive slowdown....  [Read More]

Like I said, it doesn't seem to work for everyone. :/ What do your Width/Height/RefreshRate lines say? I'm starting to think this might be an nVidia problem.. Your card is pretty old though. a GeForce 4 MX is the equivalent of a GeForce 2, just with...  [Read More]

For some reason, the options in swkotor2.ini under [Display Options] seem to work for some but not others. I've changed mine and the movies play in the resolution I specified. They don't look any better, but at least my monitor isn't switching res wh...  [Read More]

mosey, the Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1 line goes under [Graphics Options], just to ensure you have it in the right spot. Pretty much everyone who has needed it has found it to return performance to what it was before the Dantooine slowdown. dros...  [Read More]

Could be that your card is defaulting back to 6x AA. I'm not sure. But even on ATI's site they don't advertise the cards as being capable of 8x AA. So I'd assume that either it's an invalid entry and it's not actually applying AA at all, or it's fall...  [Read More]

Thanks for the clarification, j3di_sean. I am surprised that you get no glow on Catalyst 4.11 though. Most people are using it to bring back the glow. As far as the FPS issue, you should be getting better FPS. I do recommend turning off Vsync and se...  [Read More]

Sounds like you've got an ATI card. The current video drivers (Catalyst versions 4.12, 5.1, and 5.2) do not properly display the glows. You'll have to either install the older 4.11 driver or wiat for the fix from ATI. If you're not on an ATI card, t...  [Read More]
