The default weapons share a small pool of (extremely crappy) textures. If you extract the models by double clicking in KOTOR Tool it will automatically convert the model to ASCII and extract the appropriate textures for you....  [Read More]

Have you checked that the model has the texture assigned? If you have a hex editor you can open the binary MDL, otherwise open the ASCII MDL in a text editor (Notepad, etc.)....  [Read More]

How do you have them set up at the moment? Looking at a vanilla K1 bump map for the Ebon Hawk (V_EHawk01b.tga), it seems it is somewhat akin to Dragon Age's implementation of normal maps in that it appears to use X and Y information, although I'm n...  [Read More]
I just set it to 0 to continue on. Presumably that resets the quest completely....  [Read More]
Cheers J7. Btw, any way to fix it for a save in progress? I'm at the end of NS and don't have any saves from earlier (not that I'd want to redo the whole planet anyway). I see a variable in the save labelled "301NAR_Red_Eclipse_At" and it...  [Read More]
I'm getting that Red Eclipse bug without ever having left Nar Shaddaa. In fact the cutscene triggered a second time as I was on my way to the Ebon Hawk after it played the 1st time. After I finished the quest it triggered a 3rd time. Any chance you...  [Read More]

There won't be any mods, besides a few INI hacks. It's a cooked Unreal 3 game like Mass Effect, so there's no way to do major alterations....  [Read More]

I can do the hacking minigame within 10 seconds even without any skill in Sabotage.Maybe you're like Rain Man. Just because you find something easy, doesn't mean that other people do, or that they find it enjoyable even if they can do it....  [Read More]

I really wondered if I could get my Assault Rifle to shoot Tranqs as the Pistol does. The assault rifle can use subsonic rounds, which effectively acts as a silencer, but that's it. The pistol is the only weapon that can do non-lethal takedowns (besid...  [Read More]

TexMod is only for loading custom textures. The INIs are not compiled like in ME2. Edit the ones in My Documents\Alpha Protocol\APGame\Config\ with any text editor. You may need to make them read-only afterward, to stop the game changing them. Ther...  [Read More]

You don't need a compiler. AP uses an older version of the U3 engine, like ME1. You can edit the INIs directly. You have the same problem that you do with ME though (indeed with any cooked U3 game) in that, while you can extract content, you can't r...  [Read More]

If you can find it cheap sure, pick it up. If you are getting the console version, no doubt there will soon be a flood of 2nd hand copies available. If you are planning on getting the PC version, I'd probably wait for both a price drop and a patch or...  [Read More]

Lol, nice backtrack. The mission structure remains identical no matter what you do. However you want to dress it up, your choices have no real impact on the game....  [Read More]

Always carry some EMP grenades with you and use them to disable computers without having to invoke the hacking minigame. You can only carry 2 per device slot (unless/until you get the Electronic Warfare perk), so you may want to fill at least two slo...  [Read More]

The AI actually used grenades on me. When I'm hiding behind a wall of crates, the AI actually stops and thinks "Hey, constantly shooting him when he's totally out of the line-of-fire isn't going to work; how 'bout I smoke him out of his burrow?&...  [Read More]

There's no thinking involved in any of the minigames. The computer hacking and circuit bypass one are visual acuity/pattern recognition based. The lockpicking one is dexterity/hand-to-eye co-ordination based....  [Read More]

AP is a different animal than TSL. At least in the sense that it doesn't just end abruptly in a completely unsatisfactory manner. It's somewhat more akin to Vampire Bloodlines in that the last act becomes a straight shoot 'em up with little room for...  [Read More]
