I don't care what they say, YOURS ROCKS! Colin is the man!
SOMI- The end, I like getting Guybrush blown around Malee Island for a bit before I melt Le Chuck with the root beer
MI2- Guybrush the dog 'she named her dog Guybrush?!' Just reminds me of Indy 'we named the dog Indiana'
wow, I remember Kings Quest 5, it was actually the first adventure I ever played, I played it when I was like 12 when I got it in some 5 foot 10 pack of CD games for christmas. I used to remember thinking that I had to get past the desert to continue so I'd keep wandering and wandering in the desert until I'd die or get bitten by a scorpion. And then I'd think, "Wow, I must not have walked fast enough." And I always hated that stupid owl cause I never knew my computer could talk and if it could it shouldn't sound like that. I also remember my first time dying in KQ5, I went into some house and someone locked me in the basement, and I'm sitting there thinking what the *#@$?!
I got KQ6 in a similar CD pack like JiveMonkey. The sense dwarfs were cool. And the labyrinths were tough. But I always liked that hole-in-the-wall creature.

No, you really don't. Because by the time you reach 40, those "mellons" will have become saggy and unattractive. Gimme small, pert boobs, anyday.
Here's a good rule of thumb for you ladies: Take a pencil and place it, horizontally underneath your breast (doesn't matter which one). Then raise your arms over your head. If the pencil falls, you'll be fine for another 5 years...if it is still in place, you're in trouble... and should start doing some pectoral exercizes.
No, this has nothing to do with lucasArts games, but you started it.
King's Quest Games aren't lucasArt games either, but they are great. KQ #s 4-7 are still some of my favorites.
another male expert on female anatomy... *sigh* what is the world coming to...
;)
Scoff all you want, but I bet you and every other woman who reads that post is going to try this, tonight.
It's sort of the female equivelent of men taking a ruler out and measuring their ...er...anatomy. ;) Fess up, guys... you've all done it.
I think that posters like Natty and I are above such silly experiments! So there!
..... *sneaks off with pencil to back room*
The whole swearing in longhand scene from Sam and Max! :)
"Percent sign, ampersand, colon, dolor sign!"
"What the hell are you doing Max?"
"Swearing on longhand, Sam"
That's a good one, Endy.
I hope no one has mentioned Lola's death scene in Grim Fandango. I thought that one was very memorable and dramatic. One of a few salient serious moments in the whole set of LEC adventures, along with the scene that Sarah mentioned earlier.
I think I need to go get a pencil, I'll be back in a jiffy :p
OK- I'm gonna have saggy boobs :p Happy now? You can all make fun of me :D Actually... wait I forgot to lift my arms up, hmmmmm I did it twice, once the pencil fell the other time it stayed in place? I guess that means they're gonna be kinda saggy? I don't know? Do you really need to know all this anyway? :p
Sam n Max still is one of my favourites and one of my favourite moments in that game was in Conroy Bumpus' house. When you looked at a painting all the animals on the walls start singing an 'edutainment' song. :D

Take heart Yoha, Natty, and the rest of you ladies. If you took me seriously and are worried, you ladies can always perform certain exercizes to firm up. We, men can't do anything to add ...erm... length. :(
It doesn't suprise me that the women here can joke about this, while the men have been noticably quiet. The men are all: "Erm...could we get back to the subject please?" It's been my observation that women are braver than men in almost all things.
It's no accident that Elaine was written as a mightier pirate than Guybrush. In life, women are stronger-willed and they merely allow the men to think they're the ones in charge.
We stumble through life, guys ...and women pick up the pieces of our mess. From your mothers to your lovers ...thank goodness for women. :)

I'd like to take this moment to annoy everyone with my pickyness, the dialogue actually runs
SAM: Percent sign, ampersand, dollar sign
MAX: and colon, semi-colon too!
METAL BENDING GUY: What the ***** are you doing?
SAM: swearing in long-hand, asterisk mouth
sorry everyone

Please refrain from using these forums as places to pick up women - raven, you have been warned!
lol j/k ;)
*cough*
right, because the portable mud wrestling ring comment wasn't trying to pick up women at all, RIGHT?
I liked the intro for Simon The Sorcerer.
"Thankyou Chippie..."

My fav Moment is in CMI when you mix the drink for the first time and fake your death.
"Game Over"
"you scored 0 out 800 points"
guybrush "Stop it guys I'm not really dead"
and then in the cript:
"Sounds, From the dead, the dead that surround me. They must know my secret... Wait a sec I have no screcret"
My favorite is the moment just after that one. When Stan jumps out of the coffin and begins to talk as if nothing had happened. :D
I wasn't exactly being serious when I listed an unfunny uninteresting part of a Sierra game in the "memorable lucasarts moments" thread but thanks for playing!
That's OK, Jake, I forgive you... now, where are those S&M comics... :D

i havent played many lucasarts games, but i noticed that i really like the music in them all.
Grim fandango, Full throttle, and the monkey island series all had great music

They gotta learn about S&M sooner or later!
I would have to say when Manny is getting ready to board the Number 9. Although it sort of sucked, just because a great game has just reached the end. But still a great ending!
but should they be learning it from you schmatz?? hehe

oh, yeah, right, i just woke up that morning and said to myself, "self, I think today would be a wonderful day to mud wrestle with some poor lucasarts forum person. I really hope that someone instigates one and that Lemmy is standing by with a portable mud ring..."

The differnce is women aren't fussed about what size they're boobs are... guys often worried if they're 'big enough' hehehehehe
Anyways, back to the subject :p

Ah of course, now I remember! ScummVM only recently made S&M playable, so it's been a while :)
ScummVM? Enlighten me, O wiser one.

**Drops his ruler--kicks it out of sight**
Huh? I'm not worried about size. Not me. :p

Totally... I LOVE that part. The music is so cheesy, it's hilarious.

ScummVM is an unofficial program which makes the Lucas Arts most popular games playable under various OS's.

The favorite (or at least the most atmospheric) moment must be from the opening scenes of The Dig, when the sun comes into view from behind the asteroid, Low says "May all your prayers be with us" and Michael's stunning music goes crescendo. I get shivers from that part every time. *thinks about it* *shivers*
Another great one is in Grim Fandango: the transition movie between the first and the second year, when the camera first tracks up the restaurant tower, stops in the sky and then tracks back to the casino with excellent cinematic scoring from Peter is a true winner. (And the best cutscene in the game, IMHO.)

Mine would be either that or the bit when manny scythes the flowers off salvador's body (someone else said that i think) but that bit is truly amazing, the music, the slow-mo, ahhhhhh....
Joonas!!! How ya doing buddy!
Ok, I got another fave moment, I know most of ya think it's corny as anything... but in The DIG when Maggie Robbins comes back at the end, with that smile on her face... awww man, I was so happy! *sniff*
And I think someone already mentiond the Plunder Bunny scene from MI1.. which you don't always get to see.. true classic!
All the Best
The Emotional Scouser
What is up with that really sketchy scene in GF where Manny goes off with glottis to the scene of the contamination in the diner in the beginning? I remember it being all sketchy and Picasso-like but then they never did that again for the rest of the game....just doesn't really make sense from my recollection.
MI1: The machine
MI2: Pumping the monkey
MI3: Listening to Mr. Fossey speak
MI4: Monkey Kombat
MM: Solving the Ted puzzle
DOTT: Freezing the hamster
Indy3: The crypts
Indy4: Playing with the flashlight
Indy/IM: The dialog box asking me if I'm sure I want to quit
FT: That cool part just after the iMuse setup, but right before the end credits.
GF: Year 2
S&M: Electrocuting Max
BTW, I tried that pencil trick and my man-boobs could hold two pencils, three pens, computer mouse, five sheets of paper, and a turkey leg. Guess this means I need to play less video games, eh?
Just kidding. I have no man-boobs - just wanted to make the girls feel better. (I am happily married, so that is *NOT* a pickup line.)

That site is rather out of date, mind - the latest CVS tree has pretty much full support for DOTT, MI1 and MI2 (cd versions only) and fairly complete support for S&M. The Dig is the latest work in progress, you may have more luck than some. ScummVM makes it possible to play your old lucasarts scumm games under Linux, BeOS, Windows 9x/2000/XP and even on your iPaq PocketPC (forgotten the link to that one tho).
Latest builds can be found here:
http://scummvm.sourceforge.net/daily/)
Note when downloading the windows builds - change the extension from .gz to .exe - they arn't REALLY gzipped..
[Edit: Actually, I just discovered the latest builds have music turned off. I'll get that fixed ASAP; if it doesn't work today, try tommorow :]

Amazing! That's my favourite part too.
No no, I quite like the ending cutscene, in which the dialogue goes something like this: "I'm not really a communist. I just pretended to be evil." "Really? Great! Let's go drink vodka!"
Hey, Infernal Machine had some cool levels.
Too bad my CD 1's missing, I can only play half of them. :(
And my Grim CD 1 is broken. Since I don't have it installed at the moment I can't play any of it. What is is with me?
My all-time favorite moment is in Monkey Island 2 when you put the rat in the vichyssoise and have the bartender go ask the cook about it. The dialogue is just hilarious after you hear the barkeep take a sip and the little rat starts squeeking. "OH MY GOD" followed by, "you're fired" and "look at all the hair! And what's this stuff!? I'll never get rid of this junk." And then he comes back out of the kitchen, places the bowl on the bar, and tells Guybrush, "here ya go."

Yah, I already said that one. It's "Here's your soup." :)
Oh yeah, I guess I should actually try reading the whole thread or something. Although this one is up to 90 something replies.
From CMI:
- I make my living off the hard work and talant of others.
- You're a project leader on a computer game?
DOTT: Switching the flag design with the tentacle chart. Pure... BRILLIANCE!! :D
whoa, this is like a thread before I was born.
My fav LA moment? when Boston has to cut off Brink's hand with a dull alien jawbone.
I laughed my ass off. Who would've guessed The Dig would have so much humour in it?
