I bet it will be for downloading the full game for so many $, once released. Having a demo for an expansion seems...not right. Plus its getting pretty close to its release, if there were any demos to be released they would of been out all ready.
I've seen demos for expansions before. And I've seen demos released at the same time as--if not later than--the release of the full game.
Yes, Dark Crusade (expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War) released a demo a month or so ago. And there's nothing wrong with releasing a demo after the main game; there are still people who might want to try it out before buying.

Having a demo for FoC is a good thing. Hopefully it will show more gamers out there the greatness that is EaW. I personally love it and can't wait to buy FoC.
As Anarch said, Dark Crusade got a demo and so did Winter Assault. Barbarian Invasion, expansion to Rome:Total War also got one.
It's always a good idea to release a demo for your expansion if you have the time and you it's good. If it's bad, then shut up and hide :p

Just a little speculating here, but what do you think we'll get to see? Going by the original EaW demo, I'm thinking we get one space mission and one ground mission, playing as the Zann Consortium. We'll get to try three or four space units and around the same number of ground units. And if we're lucky, there'll be some of the new things you can build on build pads, a sample of infantry-only terrain and maybe a bunker or two.

They might even include missions that don't appear in the final product, they just serve as a tiny bit of backstory and an opportunity to show off Tyber's abilities. Regardless, I'm sure the demo will be more focused on showcasing the extensions to and differences from Empire at War.

Hmmm...you don't need to pay to download anything from Fileplanet. You only need an account.
But don't get it from Hellplanet when you can get it somewhere else. Very long queues and incredibly slow speeds. Find a better source for your demos :) Once the demo is out, there will be plenty of links to websites where the download will be available in a sticky thread :)
just so ya know like DMUK said, you can get it from Xfire 99% on the 3rd then download the last 1% on the 6th :-)
I think it's a bit silly. I mean, how impatient can you be? Do you really need to play the demo right when it goes live? Sure it's cool and all but I still think it's silly.
Impatience will kill you one day.
PS: I realize some people have tight schedules and I do too, but in the end, you'll waste the same amount of time downloading it.
I'll do what I always do: set it to download and then go do something else while I wait, like watch TV or do something around the house. That way I'll pass time while waiting and not feel quite so guilty about all the time I'm about to spend playing the demo. :p
Sounds like the demo is going to be pretty sweet. I'll download it when I have time. Since the full version is coming out on friday, I have all weekend to download it, and play it. And since Thanksgiving Day (for those Canucks) is on the monday, I'll have enough time to play it. ;)

Nope, nobody knows. But we'll find out in a few hours.
