2x post for the combo!

My new shoes arrived from Zappos.com - an apparently very big website (like the Amazon.com of shoes) that I had never heard of until the other day.Anyway, they actually had a huge selection in styles, brands and sizes. So I got my new Size 15 (size 14 UK) shoes. Really impressive because the shoes arrived in just over 24 hours from ordering from half way across the country and they look sick.

Just got this today, along with putting down 55 bucks towards Halo 3 Limited Edition, and my god, it's the best purchase I've ever made in the history of ever. After playing Gears Of War and the CoD4 beta on my 17 inch CRT at 1280x1024 resolution, I don't think I'll ever go back to playing it on my 20 inch tv. It may be smaller in physical size, but it's so damn crisp, so damn beautiful, that playing it on my tv makes it look muddy.

Yeah, I've got one of those. But it was a $12 generic Made In China piece, and there's a little bit of ghosting because of it. And yeah, Bongo, on my LCD I saw that particular scene in GoW in the gardens. The one where I stopped you. Yeah, HD is cool. :D

Since I bought the Elite (though, I slightly regret buying when it was released), it came with an HDMI cable and another thing that works for both HD and Standard def. And playing Gears of War on my "32 LCD TV is so awesome. HD is beautiful. :D BioShock and NHL 08 are amazing as well in HD, specifically BioShock.

M16A4 + ACOG Scope + Stopping Power + Deep Impact = Dead Enemies with nothing to hide behind xD.
What game type do you guys play? I usually just stick to Free-For-All since everyone is always running around and it makes all the other game types hard to play more tactically. Feel free to add me if you guys wanna play.

$60 and a free Faceplate (The one with Allegretto)

Edit:
The starting is sorta weird, it shows the girl on the cover Polka essentially committing suicide. Wonder what will happen?

I'm already 5 hours into it and I think it's a great JRPG. If you're like me you've tried games like FFXII and Dragon Quest VIII but could never really get sucked into it due to it's repetitive fighting, grinding, and steep learning curve. Well, Eternal Sonata is great because it starts out pretty easy and continuously gets more and more challenging. But so far I've never gotten frustrated once and I've only had Game-Over's in boss fights. It really all comes together.

Besides that the art and story are pretty amazing, the voice acting is pretty good (and I'm the sort of person to turn on Japanese voices the first chance I get). The fighting system is great, it's the perfect combination between strategy, turn-base, and a little dash of hack-n'-slash. It's really fun.

Man, I haven't bought a new game/movie/cd in ages that I honestly, thoroughly enjoyed.

Any suggestions? I'd prefer something that wasn't an MMO or something I'd get completely sucked into and have to pay tons of money for.

Oh, and TV Shows can count in the movies category as well.

See the post above yours, wally. Two recommendations right there. :D

the CS cd is, well, not sure how to describe it, but it's happy pop sounding-ish. But not crap pop. :D you can listen to the entire cd (http://collectivesoul.com/site/main.html)on) their site, because they're indie and can do cool things like that.

the game is outstanding and the GOTY retails for $30, so definitely worth a try. It has the original Longest Journey game in it as well, which is one of my absolute favorite games ever - probably worth the money just by itself (not even including the soundtrack cd and Dreamfall of course) :)

Geelong made history by spanking Port Adelaide to finish a simply dominating year in AFL.

My Aussie chick was telling me about this. I was getting 1am(my time) texts from her. She was pissed(drunk) out of her mind. It was funny but I just wanted to sleep.

Also, I went halves with my brother on the Halo 3 Xbox 360 just so we could finish the fight.

Why did you buy two hockey games?

Hockey is about the only sport I give a damn about. Last year I wound up buying both Hockey games, and liked both for different reasons. 2K has all the cool features and party modes, EA has the skill stick. Each one is fun for various reasons. Sadly, this year, I have not got around to playing either one of these new ones yet.

NHL 08 is pretty damn fun. Better than NHL 07. I'm not a fan of the 2K series, specifically for hockey. So, I don't really know who fun that game is, but the graphics for NHL 08 are amazing.

I agree with you to some point. There is just no substitute for the real thing. When I was in high school, I played right wing for the Joliet West Tigers! :p Hopefully that helps explain my hockey addiction. And yes, there is NO substitute for the real thing. I have tried over the years to get a street hockey team together with little success. At my age now, being out of shape and all, and with all the crazy hours I work, it's no longer a possibility. Besides, I don't know about you, but where I live, it's not possible to get a street hockey game going in the middle of the night, but I can easily turn on my 360, and invite a few of my buddies on my list to join up for a period, or two. Also, collectively, $50-$60 is a great deal cheaper than the combined cost of roller blades, regulation sticks, pucks and two nets. So there! :p

On the one hand hockey; if you had not sworn off ever playing it after it was forced upon you in school all the time, or really any sport, is better than even this year's impressive video games. On the other hand how many of you can shred the ice like Gretzkey? Mark and kick like Crawford and Ablett? Stuff the rock like Shaq? Can you even hit the ball playing golf, or hell, create controversy like Warne?

NHL 2K8 has free stick-handling, you use the analog stick to control the puck and you can like pass it through your legs and whip it around, etc. My friend got NHL 08 and says it's unreal (he's playing it on the PS3 :P)

Sure thing. In NHL 08, you get pull of some crazy dekes, especially in 1 on 1 battles. Though, I'm not much into that style when it comes to gaming. I'm all about run n' gun and using the one timer.

Lol. I just got back from World Cyber Games Championships at a convention center down town. Well, they had competition but the main attraction today was a Warcraft 3 tournament, which I wasn't really interested in. But there were some cool things.

First of all, tons of shwag, not super awesome shwag, but it is fun shwag. Tons of pens, stickers, 3 Games for Windows blinking yo-yos, lanyards, 4 T-shirts, a deck of cards, and 3 copies of Day of Defeat: Source (!).

But anyway, I saw some total kick-ass Gears of War players from Italy playing, and some Korean dude squaring off with a Ukrainian guy in Warcraft 3. Then I got to play Portal for a couple minutes and play a very laggy Crysis for 10 minutes.

Crysis was like FarCry on super steroids, but the settings were clearly on max and it was a pain to play because of all the motion blur and the 15-20 fps. They even had a disclaimer under the screen: "Playing on Alpha code with unoptimized drivers. Drivers will be optimized by launch." But the graphics were bad-assed. You can pick up pretty much anything and you're characters hands show if holding it. The best parts was when I was using a tree to hide from a .50 cal which promptly was shredded in two. And another was when a baddie threw a grenade at me when I was next to a building, blowing half of it away- a total "Oh Snap!" moment. It was kind of funny because I was expecting it to happen. And lastly, I made a few guys watching me laugh when I found a chicken and picked it up and threw it at a soldier. :D

I also played Guitar Hero 3, but I didn't like the song I played, I couldn't hear my music, and I played like ****, the guitar felt mushy and you have to select your difficulty BEFORE you select a song! Rock Band was a bigger thing and I couldn't play it, you had to form a "group" before playing it on-stage.

Anyway, it wasn't as big as I had thought, there was only a dozen or so stands but a lot of demo units. Also, I was approached by a dude named Erik Chan, the leader of BP Games (http://www.bottomlesspitgames.com/) and I bought a copy of Harmotion (http://www.harmotion.com/frontpage.html) for $2. Sure, it's a free game, but I felt good supporting an Indie game studio. I haven't played it yet, but it looks fun. It's a multiplayer Shump, which sounds interesting.
