That's the one with the bath right? Absolute genius. Yeah it's a shame it isn't included in the set, I may have to buy it seperately.
What I consider to be the best 'detective' series ever made:
Better then Poirot? harrrrrr :p
Poirot lol. Oh Bill, you'll know Creek, he's Alan Davies the regular 'guest' on Q.I. ;)
@ Dath: Congratulations on both developments! I wish you well on your frontiers.
Poirot lol. Oh Bill, you'll know Creek, he's Alan Davies the regular 'guest' on Q.I. ;)
Yea, I've heard Creek mentioned before, just never watched any. Used to watch Poirot on PBS Mystery Theater over here all the time, loved it :) My absolute favorite detective show is A Nero Wolfe Mystery (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0283205/) which was on A&E for two seasons. It's so good, I bought it on DVD twice (though one copy wasn't for me :p )
Well, after helping my friend's mom reformat her computer after her other son and his wife completely ****ed hers with random myspace/facebook clickings and poker websites and software (someone remotely took over their computer while her other son was using it), she insisted on paying me, so I picked this up:

My first (real) documentary has finally been pressed, and will be submitted to the 2010-2011 Emmy's :D Missed this year's deadline by a week due to the Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull volcano stranding our Producer (who has to do the submission) in Tanzania Africa for 3 weeks :fist:
A long way's off, and honestly not expecting it to win anything, but the thought of work (JTV) believing it's good enough for a shot (and entry fee.. hehe) is good enough for me ;) Plus I'll have one or 2 more docs by next year's time that may be considered as well...

Just beat ME2 on Insanity finally. Motha f***in bleep bloop.
I've kindof returned after a period of obliviousness... Hi.
Also I went to prom yesterday, which was a good thing. And I saw the movie Paprika. Also good.
Welcome back Ave.
I came to the conclusion that Halo Reach really isn't all that fun. Guess I'm over Halo?

I wasn't too impressed either tbh. If it's supposed to be something special, then I don't see it, it felt the same as all the others. Halo is Halo.
Haven't tried it yet... Too busy with my new PS3, hooked up to my big, new HDTV (1080p, 120Hz...) :D
The XBox may still have all the better games... but anyone who claims it to be a sexier piece of hardware or interface simply hasn't tried the Playstation.
Mainly, I just wanted a Blu-Ray player for the TV... but the trailers for Gran Turismo 5 sold me on getting the full PS package.
i got 3 bottles of floor wax!!!
the wedding is saturday, less than a week to do the final getting ready stuff

Good luck, I hope everything goes well on the day.

I only have 2 games so far: GT5: Prologue, and Motostorm.
Is there a mic headset unit for the PS3 to do chat like the 360?
I also need to get a wireless keyboard/ mouse for it too. It's cool you can surf the net with it... but entering in letters from the controller is totally miserable.
Yeah, you can get a wireless headset (
http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-Bluetooth-Headset/dp/B001BR95PW/ref=pd_sim_vg_5) and a keyboard (
http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-Wireless-keypad/dp/B001ENPDJA/ref=pd_sim_vg_1), but I haven't bothered with either as I don't use the PS3 enough to justify it. The only games I own on it are PS3 exclusives, and I use it mainly to watch Blu-Ray's.
That's probably mostly what it's going to be for me. I really bought it for Blu-Ray and GT5... but having a media player/ server and internet portal on top of the rest is a nice bonus.
Forza > Gran Turismo
:carms:
Yes... but I've run (and come in first on) about 3/4 of the races in Forza 3 already. (I'm going for the 'Solid Gold' achievement.)
Once I've finished it, I think I'll be looking for another racing simulator... and GT5 should be out by then...
And have you SEEN the vids on GT5 gameplay?!?? (

Looks AMAZING!!!!
I played the GT5 Demo when it came out a few months ago. I played for like, 10 minutes, boring as hell. Compared to Forza 3, it's just bleh.
Hmmm... I'll give it a chance.
I love Forza 3... but unless Forza 4 suddenly appears... or some massive DLC expansion pack (I already have all the available car and track packs...) that makes the game new again,.. I'm pretty sure I'll be all Forza-ed out fairly soon.
I've already been mixing in a little Need For Speed: Shift and Dirt 2 just to keep myself from going stir crazy lapping all the exact same tracks against the exact same AI opponents again and again...
I've been playing GT5: Prologue for a few days now and I like it. And that's a SUPER stripped-out version of what the final GT5 game will be like.
Personally: I'm looking forward to having a crack at night racing and dealing with changing weather conditions and getting into Formula and Nascar style cars.
I think the final game will be interesting.

Yeah, I think that's what happens when one of the cheevos is to gold medal every single race in the game. And we're not talking about little rinky dink three lap races either. Logging 12 laps around Nurburgring or Catalunya will wear on you.
ed just wanted little big planet and is using GT5 as a cover
Little Big Planet is kinda cool. I played it at my cousin's house.
I haven't bought it (yet)... But I won't rule it out.
But right now I'm all about motorsports and driving simulators.
LittleBigPlanet, and I guess platformers in general, are just pointless to me. LBP was a game where all I felt like I was doing was fighting the controls and trying to get jumps and grabs and pushes to work right. Physics liked to freak out on occasion, and moving bombs through small areas isn't my idea of fun.
I loved Little Big Planet, and I'll be buying LBP2 when it comes out.
I just got World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru and Penumbra from
http://www.wolfire.com/humble). Pay what you want and the proceeds go to Child's Play and the developers.
Just played a bit of Portal on the new Steam native Mac OS X client! Pretty nifty. Although it feels more like a time machine since I played portal way back in 2007... It is interesting to see the Mac viewed as a legitimate gaming platform (for the first time since Bungie was bought by Microsoft all those years ago) especially by (in my opinion) the most respected and creative "PC" developer of all time.
I took advantage of the free Portal offer on Steam, and am planning on having my mom and little brother play through it starting tomorrow. Should be interesting :)
^ Speaking of which, this made me lol (even though it isn't strickly true seeing as you can set right click options in the settings).

Hahahaha, I hadn't even thought of that. Brilliant.
Don't shoot ****ty Russian ammo through it unless you want to spend more time cleaning it than you did shooting. Wolf ammo is cheap for a reason.

Nice. I'm going to my graduation ceremony today. Hurray for stepping stones.

That's what my cousin said, except he never cleaned it, and now it's been inoperable for 5 years. The bolt makes these wonderful grindy noises.

:D $10
I may be an Apple fanboy (as evidenced by the iPhone ringing in my pocket, the ipod sitting on my desk, the macbook I am typing on, and the powermac just down the hall) but I am smart enough to know that there are some things that PCs just do better. Mice being one of them.
Nice, but why is your finger on the trigger... :¬:
Touching the side, with the safety on, unloaded, before it had ever been shot, while pointing at the ground. If you can't be comfortable around firearms, why own one? When it's loaded, of course, they're serious. Heck, we never even loaded a round into it until getting to the range, just in case something slipped... But when you know it's harmless...

Oh, don't worry, this is my brother's new baby. It's going to be spic and span for life.
Additionally, if the Russian ammo is as bad as you say, he'll certainly change to higher quality stuff.
Also TIE why are those bullets such funny colours
Those are the Russian .223's. We've got 60 of those. 60 Remington .223's. And 100 Winchester NATO 5.56mm rounds as "gifts" from my uncle, who probably just swiped them from the police armory firing range.
We just got done shooting 41 rounds today at the firing range (40 NATO and 1 Remington). Firing ranges suck ass in Washington, it's got the mood of a DMV and only allows one round per magazine (they let .22's have 5 as the one exception). Oh, and firing the AR-15 cost $11, while a .22 costs only $6 (I brought it with us). But when the guy at the counter asked if I would be shooting the AR, also, he charged me $11 instead. I just assumed you got charged per gun, the logic being "Okay, an AR and a .22, that'll be $17". The prick...
It was the first time I've fired anything larger than a .22 in probably three years, and the kick was larger than I remembered. But that was in a gun-stand position, and when I stood up, the kick was noticeably less powerful. Curious.
today is the day! I'm getting married!
Congrats Dath-y Poo. Have a messed up honeymoon!
brief tidbit of info about the wedding
may have caused a metal grill to melt and start a fire that required lots of water and fire extinguishers, thats right, the metal melted!
Congrats. Now maybe you can keep your hands off everyone elses' moms. :xp:
Also, good job on the fire. Sounds like you had a good time.

I'm perfectly comfortable around firearms and own many myself. I also know that you always treat every firearm as if it's loaded, no exceptions. And you don't put your finger on the trigger until you're ready to shoot.
Anyway, nice gun and stay safe.

Amen, man. Just a few photos of what happens when a gun you 'KNOW' is safe turns out to not be is enough to make you always treat a gun as if it's loaded. Some folks think it's 'overkill' ; I say overkill is death or injury caused by an 'unloaded' weapon.
On a side note, firearms of all sizes can be incredibly fun, and the kick of a 30.06 reverberating right to your core is one the most awesome things. Ever.
Stay safe, dumplings. :D
And to stay on a Very Good Things track: I've recently lost 6 lbs. and am now in the 'ideal' weight range. Woohoo! Also my St. Bernard is 4 1/2 weeks through an 8 week post op recovery. Yay for over halfway there! ....... I may go bonkers in the next 3 1/2 weeks though. :)
@ TiE: Yeeah, nice hardware, even if it is your brother's.
============
I got my car cleaned out...now just to wait out this storm so I can vacuum it inside, shine up the interior, shampoo the mats and fix a few things.
Also I'm finishing up my battery operated fluorescent light. Won't be the prettiest looking project, but, it'll be battery operated and energy efficient...and I can say I made it at least.

This inverter's design is far from optimal.
So far it seems to work okay on a power supply but I'm counting on this one eating tubes very fast because it's hard and slow to start the tubes. Tubes will last longer if you don't have to repeatedly start them up, just leaving it on should make life a little easier on 'em. Wish I had a o-scope to see waveform driving the transformer.
