I don't know about the multiplayer part, but I believe that making games editable makes it fairly certain that the game will have a large following.
From a developer's perspective, making a game editable right out of the box is a public relations nightmare. But the end results (especially from the consumer's point of view) are definitely worth the effort.
I doubt that LucasArts would pay much attention to a petition such as this, and I doubt that LucasArts would authorize Factor5 to release an add-on patch for the game, but I'm still willing to show my support.

Add me as well, this game needs the stuff listed and a new set of cheats allowing the secret levels to be accessed. Also add new ships, and levels where you go from planet to space! That would be totally cool.
I just tallied up all the new signautes and the total comes to... 52!! We still need many more before Factor5 will even pay any attention to us, but we are off to a good start. Once again, if you have any friends that have RS and support the petition, please tell them to come and sign!

Alright, even though I question whether such an extensive addon will be made for a console conversion, I would whole-heartedly support this petition for Rouge Squadron.
