Seems there might be some problems running it in Win7 after all with the renaming function. Somebody needs to update this program... :( People ought to post on the jkhub.net forums and massassi.net to see if someone is up to the task!...  [Read More]

Wow. Yeah! I still consider JK to be the highlight of the series, but DF was great when it came out, even if everyone seemed to forget about it when Duke Nukem 3D came out. Reminds me of the many projects out there attempting to "update" t...  [Read More]
That's a pretty fast release schedule compared to the past. To think people were actually getting upset that a movie wouldn't come out in May....  [Read More]
Makes sense. Pretty much all of the movies went by their main titles (rather than episode names) until the prequels and then those were always dropped once the name was revealed. I bet they chose this one mainly not to sound too similar to any of th...  [Read More]

I suppose it's subjective, because we may like different things from the movies. I think the best of the EU were the video games, because they were still geared towards being fun and using the EU for inspiration, rather than being hemmed in by it (...  [Read More]

Hard to say. I hope they don't copy the EU. The trouble with the EU is that it never quite hit the mark... either they tried to just copy the movies (and always in a lamer way) or they strayed so far from the movies that they didn't really have that...  [Read More]
I can't imagine the hype for the new series will be anything like the (frankly, overblown) hype for the Prequel trilogy. I think the hype for Episode I actually hurt their reputation in the end. Yes the first movie made tons of money but then disappo...  [Read More]

After seeing the new Thor movie, a guy was sharing his disappointment with the "delay" in the new movie. I just couldn't get excited one way or the other. I've just gotten burned out on new star wars stuff. I could see myself casually see...  [Read More]
I wanted to get the demo for the latest Aliens Vs. Predator game. Turns out steam pulled it, so now I can't play it, even if I download it from elsewhere! So while the DRM thing is pretty annoying, [exclusive] digital distribution has its drawbacks a...  [Read More]

Really cool to see some updates on this. I appreciate the effort! I don't know when I'll have a chance to play this game again (winter?), but when I do, I'll be happy to try some of these suggestions. Got anything else? Feel free to post it in the m...  [Read More]

Yeah, some of it is my cynical side (not without reason) here, that I don't assume a new release is an improvement over a past release, especially if they it isn't mentioned in the marketing material. Some fans always assume there is something "...  [Read More]

Why would it being more recent mean it had better bitrates? Until I see evidence of that I'd be skeptical. After the debacle with the 2004 editions and now with the problems with the blu-rays I won't take any of that for granted when it comes to qual...  [Read More]

That's something I'm curious about... how do the "new" Dvd's of the prequels look? Does Episode II now have inexplicable blue tints throughout? I presume Episode I has CG Yoda and the reframed image, Episode III would just have one screen...  [Read More]

I see them hurting themselves more by flooding the market with sub-standard and recycled Star Wars merchandise, the same problem LucasFilm and its sub-companies had for years, which is what is surely what lead in large part to the franchise being sol...  [Read More]

Yeah, but not the current versions of the movies (as similar as they are to the previous versions). Not sure what you mean there. The 2004 editions can still be found most places DVDs are sold, even if you have to look in the "used" or &q...  [Read More]

Yeah "out of print" but still available at most places where good DVDs are sold... The 2011's were never out of print, as up until now the only way you could see them was in Blu-Ray HD. I go to Wal-Mart I still see them charging $80 for th...  [Read More]

Not much, but a news tidbit: A new set of Blu-Rays is coming out Oct 8th. Apparently there are four different box sets. It looks like there's nothing really new here except DVD versions of the 2011 Blu-Rays (with no new content, just downsampled fro...  [Read More]

See, I thought the puppet looked off, but his goofy look (we made lots of "stoned yoda" jokes back in the day) at least got a little bit of humor into an otherwise mostly dull (until the end) Star Wars movie, and that's gone now. So here's...  [Read More]

As we're speculating on how it happened, the out-of-universe reason is that Lucas wanted his movie to be taken "seriously" as sci-fi action and not just a "kiddie" flick, so he threw in some burning skeletons to guarentee a "...  [Read More]
