I think it is you who needs to go back and view the classic Battlestar Galactica series... heck the Cylons were brighter than some of the humans... and in the new BS Galactica they are definately smarter than Battle Droids. ;)
BSG '78 Cylons are helluva lot smarter than Battledroids, On another note though.... The new BSG '04-'05 Cylons are more manipulative and sinister, rather than just seemingly limitless supply of machines of doom.
Whereas SW droids are simple robots controlled by remote (with exceptions of C3P0, HK-47, T3 and Artoo who all seem to be sentient)
But if it comes down to it... BSG '78 and SW are equals.
L1 Series Cylon Droids = C3P0, HK-47, T3 and Artoo.
Cylon Centurion Sergeant (ones with the gold colored armor) = Battledroid Commander.
Cylon Centurion (silver) = Regular "Roger Roger" Battledroid.
Their weapons are equal too, but They both would surely kick the snot out of those Redshirts.
Terminator droids are probably better, but I doubt they're much better as we've never really seen them in a big battle (unless they're in Terminator 3, I've never seen that one).
Anyway I think By your command beats roger roger anyday of the week. Perhaps Destroyer Droids might beat them, but that is purely firepower.
I think the Hawk should stay, I don't like the idea of sneaking from planet to planet on a big ship. I also don't want to be the one landing the damn thing on a small landing platform.
Voted "Ok if we get another ship, but prefer the Hawk." The Hawk rocks, but we have had it for 2 games. A new ship would also be cool.
Blast the stupid Hawk out of known space!!! We need somthing new other than characters. The new ship should be bigger, stronger, and faster. It sshould be at least 2 stories high and have its own sub., swoop bike, and landspeeder. It should also have a mini-practice arena for dueling and YOU can fly it.

Another Hawk and T3 hater. How about we get something different for HK. He should be new, shouldn't he? I like HK, but if you are saying that we need something new for the Hawk, and T3 is outdated, then why keep HK?

That would be very cool if you could upgrade your ship! that would add alot to the game!
If piloting the Hawk were a bigger part of the game, maybe some side-quests involving the ship... ooo that would be fun.
Then be able to buy new equipment for you ship... install better shields or armor, install upgrades on the weapons and engines... :D
As far as the Ebon Hawk vs a new ship... NO WAY I want a new ship!!! The Hawk is a character in and of itself. You can't just kill it off. That ship is my favorite vessel from the ENTIRE Star Wars Universe!!! Slave 1, Millenium Falcom, Dash Rendar's ship, etc. Hawk beats them all in my opinion.
It depends on who the PC is, for me. If you're gonna be Revan or the Exile (which seems unlikely) then I guess it would be ok.
But if you're a new character it would be a bit silly that you just happen to get control of the Ebon Hawk. Even in TSL it was stretching the coincidence threshold a bit.
It would be getting a bit like pass the parcel.

Well, they could lose it again. Maybe not that original, but it would work, and it would be ok. It could be crashed somewher perhaps in the Uknown Regions, you know- you don't have to get it immediately. Or it could just be found already, and you could find T3 or somebody in it. I don't know, but it doesn't really pose that much problem. It just needs to be there, especially at the end, even more especially if this is going to be the finisher of the series.
It deserves a cameo appearance, ofcourse. Perhaps late in the game it could be introduced with a cut scene of it landing on a planet or docking with a station, complete with dramatic music and everyone goes 'ahhhh, the Hawk!'.
Guess we could have one last mooch around inside it for old times sake, and use it to go to the final destination for the big boss fight.
I voted "Stick with the Hawk", but if they have the time I'm ok with a new ship. That's after they have made the game work, incl. all the quests etc.
Yes, the Hawk was a great ship for K1. It was my baby for so long.
(I actually had dreams about it)
I was pleasantly surprised when she was back for K2.
But, the focus of the ship was slightly diminished. Still, it was OK.
Midway through the game though, my mind wandered and I imagined layouts of other ships. "Cargo hold here... Cockpit there..."
OK, if we're in the Hawk in K3 then, so be it.
But, personally I'd like a little novelty and imagination.

But if this is going to be the last Revan & Exile KotOR game, then why do we need a new ship? They should stick with it. We don't really need new ideas for a ship, it needs to be in there. Maybe to make you guys all happy you can ditch the Hawk if you want, but it needs to be there, especially if this is going to be the close of the series. Having new ideas is good and all, but to change a major part of the game that has been in K1 and K2? I just don't think it is a good idea.
However, if they do make more KotORish games after this one, which I am praying they will (If they do it right, these games could pwn every other game :D), we should get a new ship. New characters, no Revan Exile stuff so that it can start fresh. A new ship wouldn't be bad, it might be nice to have a bit different type of ship, but not for this KotOR series.
Keep it!! Why not? I feel that the Hawk is like an other npc in your party. It has that homey familiarity(sp). I'd like to see other ships, but the Hawk has made a name for it's self. I'd be just as disapinted to not see it in the game as if Hk and T3 were gone, too.
I say keep the Hawk, but a different ship mght be cool for lets say a side mission.... something to the effects of when you had the Hawk Stolen in TSL... but this time you actually use another ship in your search for the hawk...

I love the internal space of the Hawk.. But i sumtimes get lost. I know that sounds stupid. but i do. they should keep the Out side shape BUt upgrade the ship's paint job. cause it's Ugly. I know it's a Cargo ship ,But in the Game we use it As "Your" personal ship. The Ship is too Boxy looking on the front .. it looks like its' flying backwards .. I'm just used to seeing Star Trek ships. Star Trek Ships have Design in mind when built. Because the Star Trek is more peacefull the Star Wars. Where they have be in Countless wars... will millions of races..Over time . resources would be har dto come buy.. & ships would be OVEr worked & under repaired. SO i Guess it makes sence that the Hawk looks the way she does. Include the fact she's a Cargo ship. NOt a personal ship. The Bridge & two boxy parts one on the Left & right of the ship need to be smoothed down .. SO to give a more areodynamic look. I would like to see rooms for the Crew. not bunks & an open space. & i would like to see the engine room doing Sumthing... i'm used to the warm glow & hum of a Warp Drive :O) i'm spoiled.
remember that Big table in the center of the Hawk.. looked like it was used for holo grams.. WEll Put the Space map there .. Always showing so the ship looks more busy. Or a 3d hologram of the Ebon Hawk & damage status or sumthing.
Whats the room behind the Bridge for ???? Why not put someone in there looking busy .. That's just wasted space.
my paint job for the Hawk would be, Flat White for the hull. Silver on the guns & Trim , Tinted mirror finish on the windows. so you can't look inside the ship.
OH & a Low rider landing gear system. SO when the ship lands. it can lower all the way to the Ground. SO the Ship could be a Moble HOme.
as i said in a different thread about not having revan or the exile....if neither of these are pc's then i would have to say have a different ship, because the chances of a third person recieving the same ship and this story being about them are really far fetched

Good suggestion and while they're at let's see if the Hawk can have hydraulic lifts and bounce around with the bling bling.
New ship, with spinning hydrothruster rims, purple furry seats, tinted windows, cool black/purple paint job, Neon lights, Hydrolics (for a bumpy ride). Basically pimp my wheelchair but pimp my starship.
Hydrolics? You would be in space. And purple? I'm sorry, I just can't imagine that for a galaxy saving/conquering person. :D
Besides, what kind of a starship would that be? Your person isn't a galaxy famous celebrity; half of the players wouldn't be female, either (I couldn't imagine a male flying this).

Ilwugoalie's right, I've said it before; getting rid of the Ebon Hawk would be like getting rid of the Millenium Falcon in RotJ, with no appearence of it. You could say the same for T3 and HK, actually; What would RotJ be if 3PO and R2 dissappeared or got killed in the beginning?

That could be an option but what of the turrets? THe supposed original owner of the Hawk said that it was sluggish when it came to fast moving fighters. Improvements on the hyperdrive could help, give it a bit more power. As for the fluffy dice, put those in a pimped out ride on four wheels.
I could live with a new ship, too, but prefer the Hawk. The new ship would have to have a higher Cool Factor (tm) than the Hawk, though. Hey, if you're going to get a new ship, it may as well look and run better....
I'm with DarkExcalibur42--If keeping the Hawk, I think it'd be fun to go on a (side) quest for some new parts ("You need to go find a Raniskran for the Hyperdrive before you can go to the Unknown Regions--the only place I know to find a Raniskran is on Corellia. Erlin Solo smuggles one out every now and then. Watch out for the Hutts...."). Then have those parts make a real improvement on the ship's performance (outrunning fighters? Mow through them faster? Making it through the asteroid field easier? that kind of stuff).
Or you could just get some new curtains to match those fluffy dice in the dash.... :noel:

I like the Ebon Hawk and think it's a cool ship. I'm not opposed to seeing it again in a future KotOR game. However I would like a better explanation of how the EH made it through the crash on Malachor V and was able to escape M5's destruction. I just don't buy the EH crash landing on the planet and then being able to fly off before M5 explodes. If the devs can't come up with something (and I think that would be tough to do) then it's time to come up with a new ship.

The Hawks in only in the game to get you where you need to go. The Turrent game is just there to add a bit of fun to the ship. The turrent mini-game is enough. I don't want to turn K3 into a flight sim anymore than I would want to turn it into a first person shooter or a hack 'n slash. (as some have sujested.)

No, its not official yet, but the prevailing assumption is that it will be made. When? No one knows for sure. (I think its probable unofficial, "behind the scenes" talks are going on between LA and Obsidian, or another developer, but nothing has been announced yet.)
