You have to remember that if you're playing on the Internet, you have to know the IP address of the host, and since no one's hosting, no servers show. XWA doesn't rely on dedicated game servers, but another player acts as host for the game....  [Read More]

I think you mean the original DOS X-Wing, not X-Wing Alliance. The codes are all Star Wars planet names, and you get three tries per start-up attempt, so what I suggest is keep using the same three (Yavin, Hoth, and Dagobah work well) and restarting...  [Read More]

Those of us in the X-Wing forum (http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=123) have known about the XWA Upgrade Project for some time. I always make it a point to post in the X-Wing forum whenever the XWAUP releases something new. :)...  [Read More]

About the only thing I can suggest is to unplug the stick, uninstall it through Device Manager, then plug the stick back in. If all goes well, the stick will be detected again and reinstalled. Another thing to think about is finding a copy of the X-W...  [Read More]

Forgot to ask what operating system you were running too, b/c if you're trying to run DOS TIE on Win2K or XP, it won't work, since neither of those operating systems supports DOS applications natively. This means you have to run TIE under an emulator...  [Read More]

XWA generally runs best when the game's resolution and that of your Windows desktop are the same. Given your video card, it could probably stand even 1280X1024 if you're able to set your XWA resolution to that setting....  [Read More]

Try asking on the XWA Upgrade forums (http://www.xwaupgrade.com)...someone there might know about a viewer. I checked Darksaber's site (http://www.darksaber.gaylenol.com/filemisc.htm) and though there's a cutscene viewer there, I'm not sure what exte...  [Read More]

I'm afraid there's no way to remap the keyboard in XWA. Those functions may actually be found attached to your second joystick button (press to select target in reticule, hold down and move stick to roll)....  [Read More]

Even an old two-button CH FlightStick will work, but keep in mind that not all sticks, even USB ones, are auto-detected. IIRC, the only sticks that will be auto-detected are Logitech WingMan Digitals and Microsoft Sidewinders. The other types have to...  [Read More]

First off, are you sure you didn't mean X-Wing Alliance in your original post? B/C if you did mean XWA, that game should be supported fully by your graphics hardware for 3D acceleration and high screen resolutions. I'd try updating your driver if tha...  [Read More]
