I'd still like to know where it says Force Commander does not run correctly with a Voodoo2. Lucasarts lists the Voodoo2 on their supported hardware list, so I doubt it has any serious, unfixable compatibility problems. If anyone has any links, offic...  [Read More]

It depends on the platform you're going to be using it on. On an i820 Pentium III system, RDRAM will be the fastest thing you can buy, but the price is simply way too steep to justify buying it. The performance benefit offered by RDRAM pales in compa...  [Read More]

Honestly, I think it's a waste of time unless you have a Celeron, Athlon, Pentium III, or other CPU that can be overclocked by a considerable margin. I believe the article I linked to explains the pros and cons of overclocking, so you may want to rea...  [Read More]

Why do you think that I got mad? All I did was define overclocking and explain that a 486 can't be overclocked to where it performs equivalently to a Pentium 150, and I see nothing in my post that would indicate I was irritated. You really don't need...  [Read More]

More information on overclocking? I don't know of any webpages that specifically explain how to overclock your computer, but they do exist. The process is so simple that a five-year-old could do it, so if you're unable to find any more information on...  [Read More]

There's no need to apologize for making a mistake. I would prefer that you don't comment at all if you don't know much about the subject being discussed, but there was really no harm done. I don't know what your roommate meant when he told you that,...  [Read More]

Overclocking is the process of running a CPU, or any other hardware, at a speed different than what it is rated for. You can't turn a 486 into a Pentium (they're completely different CPU's), and I'd be surprised if you were even able to get a 486 DX2...  [Read More]

Of course I'm serious. Obi-Wan is actually not even being designed to run on x86 Windows-based systems. It will require at least a 667 MHz DEC Alpha 21264 with 512 MB of RAM running on UNIX to get any kind of decent framerate. Dual or quad CPU's pref...  [Read More]

I never said it couldn't. I took exception to your false comments about what made Unreal and Unreal Tournament different, not the fact that Unreal runs better on your computer. Based on several surveys I've seen, UT does run faster on most systems, b...  [Read More]

Unreal had bad Direct3D support, and the fact that TNT and TNT2 cards don't support palletized textures caused a lot of problems for users of those cards. UT works a lot better with non-3dfx cards than Unreal did, and usually plays smoother on most s...  [Read More]
